Quantum Processing is a 2.1 Extreme Demon collaboration created by Riot, Hinds, and Sil3nce, and verified by Rampage. As its name suggests, it is an extremely buffed remake of Blast Processing. It is very difficult due to incredibly tight spaces throughout the wave sections and intense straight flying. It is currently #26 on the Official Geometry Dash Demon List, above The Hell World (#27) and below Delta Interface (#25).

Gameplay
It is important to note that as this is a remake of Blast Processing, the sections will be heavily inspired by those used in that level.

The level starts off with a cube section, with three difficult jumps over cogwheels and then a yellow jump pad. Two jump orbs follow and a gravity portal takes the player to another set of blue jump orbs with green jump orbs as traps to avoid. A jump and a blue jump orb timing takes the player to another set of cogwheel jumps and a blue jump orb leading into a mini portal which quickly goes back to normal after a blue orb. A pink jump orb and a triple spike jump comes next and then an orb maze where it is required to memorize what jump orbs to hit in order to reach the wave segment coming up.

This wave segment is insanely tight and will require maximum concentration in order to pass. The hazards are mostly built up of cogwheels and it spans for quite a while before going dual. This dual is just as hard as the regular before, but it now contains some fake lining for the player to learn. At the end of this wave, it goes back to normal for a final spam before the next section. This is a tight ship sequence where four pillars must be flown through to reach a timing ball segment with many difficult but similar timings an a sort of corridor. After this, another ship, this time mini, must fly through another four pillars before another ball with a bunch of fake jump pads and orbs to avoid, but also a bunch to hit as well. The ball ends with some timing and a text appearing saying "GO!"

Another wave segment appears here, quite similar in style to the first one, although cogwheels are not quite as threatening as in the previous wave segment. Instead, tighter spaces are the major obstacles. Just like the wave before, it goes dual after a little bit, and then back to regular, with little change to the game-play style at all. Another change to dual comes next, this one lasting a little longer than the one before. The very last moments of the wave turn it back to normal before approaching the next segment of the level. This is a cube with lots of timing jumps with both cogwheels, spikes and orbs alike. Next up is a ball segment with some hard timings and some jump orbs mixed in as well. A UFO makes its first appearance and contains some extreme timing between icons with spikes all over the place. Gravity portals appear as well, along with a mini portal at the very end. A cube segment with some fake spikes follows after that, as well as many orb timings to learn.

Coming up is a very narrow ship sequence with multiple gravity portals to adapt to, and then a ball segment with numerous jump orbs and slopes to go off of, all while some of the jump orbs are fake and must be avoided to pass through. Next comes a UFO with some gravity portals and a handful of tight spaces scattered throughout, followed by a tight ship sequence with mixed game-play between maneuver and straight flying alike. The final part of the level is a cube section with many hard jumps, about 3-5 spikes wide, and blue orbs to time right. After this first half of the cube with fairly standard game-play, A small maze of blocks and jump orbs appear as a final threat to the player whom must remember what blocks to jump from and what orbs to hit in order to not fail. Two jumps, one being a triple spike will serve as the final jumps of the level as "YOU WIN" can be seen in the background while the level finishes with a yellow jump pad.
Trivia
* This level was originally built in 1.9 and set to be verified by Riot, but he never verified it because of all the delays as well as the Sonic Wave and Yatagarasu drama. After being one of the most long-awaited demons, it was finally verified by Rampage after two years.
* This is said to be in the top five hardest demons in the game by Rampage himself. However, it is now placed below #5 due to several hard levels such as Stalemate Redux, Gamma, and Plasma Pulse Finale recently being verified.
* There is a rebirth called Infinite Process.
Digital Descent is a 2.1 Extreme Demon mega-collaboration hosted by Viprin and verified by Combined. It is the official sequel to Artificial Ascent and features 20 different creators, with many of them from the Artificial Ascent team along with a few new additions. It is currently #14 on the Official Geometry Dash Demon List, above Stalemate Redux (#15) and below Titan Complex (#13).

Gameplay
* 0-3% (Codex): Much like in Artificial Ascent, Codex builds the first part. The level starts off with a simple normal speed cube section that later changes into half speed, with many jump orbs scattered around. This part is not too difficult, as trap orbs are marked with x's and timings are not too harsh.

* 4-7% (Kips): This part consists of a pretty tricky normal speed ball segment with a lot of moving platforms and obstacles. It requires good timing and is designed in his signature cartoon-like block design, with blocks moving from the borders to the middle. There are no traps and only a few jump orbs need to be hit throughout the section.
* 8-11% (Nasgubb): As the screen turns white, Nasgubb's part appears. Notably harder than the previous two parts, this part is a mini ship sequence, with many tight spaces and gravity portals to skillfully get through. The entire part is also significantly darker than the previous two, although the many glowing objects help the player navigate through.
* 12-16% (Terron): Terron's part begins with a half speed spider segment, where the player needs to pass through a tight section full of pillars with small gaps. This then leads to a double speed mixed dual section, potentially referencing to his part in Artificial Ascent. A dual ship/wave mixed dual will take the player to a cube portal, and the part ends with the player passing along a platform with Terron's name, and then a red jump orb which brings the player to the next part of the level.
* 17-23% (AbstractDark): The music hits the drop as the player enters AbstractDark's part. This part starts with a futuristic blue styled quadruple speed spider section. The player is required to pass through multiple jump and dash orbs to make it through. His part then slows down to double speed and changes color to red as the player enters a UFO segment featuring many gravity changes, and then a short wave and ship section through large spinning hazards on the top and bottom of the "safe zone."
* 23-30% (Samifying): This part includes multiple form changes that happen at a fast pace, with not all of the form portals visible. It begins with a quadruple speed ball (that is presumably auto) that leads to a cube with a row of trap jump orbs. The player then becomes a ship, having to fly through a circular path (resembling that seen in God Eater). This then leads to a short but tight straight flying segment. The player is then transported to a very brief UFO segment, and then a tight mini wave segment. The part ends with a short ball and cube, and the text "Samy Out" and "GL!"
* 31-37% (Manix648): The part starts as a dual wave segment with multiple size changes and safe platforms that the player can land on. The wave ends with both waves hitting a dash orb which brings them to a spider part. The spider section somewhat resembles TOE III in terms of gameplay, with the spider having to teleport on and off of slanted blocks. His part finishes with a tight flying section with multiple gravity changes and the decorations switching colors from white and black multiple times over.
* 38-42% (Viprin): Viprin's part begins with a short but tight mini UFO segment which leads to a slightly longer ball section with very difficult timings. After the ball is a wave section in which the player needs to spam, and then avoid spikes using wave safe blocks and sync the clicks to the music. After this is a short ship section, followed by a robot where the player needs to jump into two gravity portals on the ceiling and floor to avoid spikes. His part ends with a cube section and a red jump pad which leads into TheDevon's part.
* 43-49% (TheDevon): TheDevon's part starts with the player thrown into a long and confusing cube section, riddled with fake jump orbs and speed changes that they should be aware of. After the cube, the player comes to a very tight wave section with dash orbs, size portals and invisible gravity portals to help the player through angled pathways. The part ends with the wave becoming a cube at normal speed preparing for the next part.
* 50-56% (Etzer): This part is filled with different game mode changes and very Etzer-like background effects. It begins with a quadruple speed mini ship sequence with a single green jump orb in order to get to a very quick mini wave segment into an equally short robot and spider segment after that. Another robot jump takes the player to a straight fly into a wave transition towards another UFO segment with an additional two jump orbs, and a triple speed maneuver flying segment as well as a brief wave segment to finish the part.
* 57-62 (Loogiah): The part starts off with a fast paced UFO with multiple gravity changes and some moving objects that leads to a slightly slower ship section with tight spaces, more gravity changes, speed changes and even more moving game-play. The second half of the part consists of a dual cube section where the player needs to hit a pair of reverse dash orbs followed by a brief but tight wave section. The part is designed similarly to -Grindfury- by Hinds and Loogiah himself.
* 63-68% (LazerBlitz): Designed in his typical style, Lazer's part starts with a ship sequence. Here, the player needs to pass through two tight pillars with gravity portals inside them. This then leads onto a cube with a single purple orb timing along with some gameplay that requires a small amount of memorization, and then a dash orb followed by a ball section with difficult timings. The part ends on a semi-auto cube, where the player only has to hit a few jump rings.
* 69-75% (G4lvatron): Right after this semi-auto section comes G4lvatron's part which contains a quaddruple speed straight fly sequence followed by a green jump orb and a reverse dash orb that need to be hit in order to reach the spider right afterwards. This tight spider segment is followed by a short ship sequence and a fast UFO segment with a couple of jump orbs and gravity portals mixed in with regular jumps. Finally, a wave with gameplay involving both types of dash orbs appears and takes the player into the next section of the level.
* 76-81% (KrmaL): KrmaL's part starts with an awkward transition into a quadruple speed mini wave segment via a dash orb. This mini wave is very tight and requires some well timed clicks. The mini wave transitions into a regular wave segment, which the player must hit two custom orbs in order to deactivate the two gravity portals located in the narrow passageway up ahead. The player must then go through a short wave spam segment which leads to a mini cube section with game-play reminiscent of Heartbeat and Black Blizzard. His part ends after the mini cube segment is completed.
* 82-85% (Vlacc): Vlacc's part is colored to the brim with orange/pink and consists entirely of a tight half speed ship sequence, with a few gravity and size changes along the way. Throughout the whole part, hazardous sawblades (both static and moving) will appear as threats that the player must skillfully avoid by taking more awkward routes than the ones visible at first sight.
* 86-88% (Serponge): "SERP" can be seen in the background indicating his part, and the whole theme revolves around inner workings of a factory falling apart. His part consists of a half speed UFO section that begins with the player having to time jump orbs while obstructions block the player's vision occasionally. After this, the player needs to navigate through moving pillars lined with spikes with dots flashing in and out of existence all over the place.
* 89-93% (Hinds): Hinds's part consists of a long cube section with a lot of timing involved. The part contains numerous jump orbs that should be timed precisely along with some fake lining to mess with the player. While it contains lots of 2.1 decoration, it retains a very 1.9 feel to it, as many of Hinds's levels do.
* 94-100% (Rustam): Rustam's part starts with a double speed cube section where the player has to hit some jump orbs with timing in order to reach multiple platforms placed throughout the segment. This then leads to a very short wave spam segment followed by a ball segment with some more timings, and a UFO segment with some gravity changes and art resembling skeleton arms sticking out of the ground and ceiling likewise. A final cube section then emerges and contains a few more jump orb timings before the last triple spike. Then, the level ends with an end logo built by Terron.
Trivia
* Combined has claimed that Digital Descent is his hardest demon yet, meaning it is even harder than its predecessor Artificial Ascent. It still sits above it to this day. However, it was moved below the latter in the Official Geometry Dash Demonlist due to part of the gameplay being inconsistently easy. But after the buffdate, it was moved above Artificial Ascent and now has been moved below Artificial Ascent down to #14 making Artificial Ascent the harder one.
* In the old verification video, Combined used the icons of Hinds, one of the creators, as a way to dedicate the level to his friend.
* Three parts were remade from the original version that was planned for release. Codex's part was changed to a more Artificial Ascent-like style in which he also had a part, Kips' was changed from a more cartoon-like cube section to a technological look to better fit the theme of the level, and Nasgubb's part was changed from a robot segment to a ship sequence for unknown reasons.
**Etzer's part also had a minor change in the beginning, changing the mini UFO segment to a mini ship sequence in order to make it a bit harder.
* Viprin himself stated on Twitter that that the level (aside from TheDevon's and Etzer's parts) were to be buffed. This came off a request by Combined whom wanted the levels inconsistent difficulty reduced, and so asked for the level to be buffed. The buff-date was verified by Combined on September 26.
* The level started out as the number 1 demon, above Erebus. However, it was quickly moved down to 6th below Artificial Ascent, due to protests from many about its difficulty. Since then it has been moved above its brother level and sits under Cadrega City at 7th despite many still arguing that it's still easier than Artificial Ascent. After the buff-date, it was moved to 4th place, just below Yatagarasu.
It is an extremely difficult remake of Nine Circles that is known for its insanely difficult quadruple speed wave segments, which is significantly harder than the wave in Sonic Wave. However, it is a lot shorter, so although it is assumed to place Top 5 on the demons list, it is also considered a tiny bit easier than Sonic Wave. Due to EndLevel being exposed to hacking, the level wasn't legitimately verified. However, Beany was appointed the verifier by BlackWolfJake after giving up due to boredom. Beany verified it on July 4, 2018.

History
On April 8, 2017, ViruZ previewed a partially decorated preview of Hyper Paracosm, his Bausha Vortex-inspired Nine Circles level meant to be slightly harder than Sonic Wave, the #1 demon at that point. He was worried why most Nine Circles levels don’t get featured but random ones do due to RobTop overlooking the song choice (examples include Despacito Circles which the creator was also worried about getting rated and Bausha Vortex itself).

Months had passed and the level had gotten no attention. However, in January 2018, TheRealSneaky picked up the level after most likely seeing the video and completed the decoration. He posted a full Noclip (also speed-hacked) video of his completed version on January 26. In the video description, he announced that it was set to verified by Sunix.

On February 2, Sunix got a new record of 36%. Meanwhile, on February 10, EndLevel stole the level from Sunix and verified it without permission. This meant Sunix had to shift his progress to EndLevel’s uploaded copy.

Eventually Sunix got one of his worst fails in-game, being a heartbreaking 94%, on February 18. About three months later on May 14, he verified it on a fixed copy a few days after he beat Bloodlust, being his latest verification project (the next will be a redecorated version of Sonic Wave Infinity done by Team APT).

Gameplay
* 0-7%: The level starts with a very difficult cube section that features numerous precise jump orb timings and tight spaces everywhere.
* 7-12%: Next, the player enters an extremely short but difficult ship sequence that contains numerous jump orbs and constant gravity and speed changes.
* 12-17%: Afterwards, the player enters an very short cube section that contains some precise timings.
* 17-63%: Then, the music beat drops, and the player enters a quadruple speed wave segment, which is the hardest and longest of the level. The wave segment is extremely difficult and fast, with numerous fakes, speed changes, and tight spaces scattered everywhere, as well as some invisible portals.
* 63-71%: Afterwards, the player enters a normal speed cube section comprised of precise timings. The reason why this level is considered easier than Sonic Wave is because of how short the wave is, with more of the level not being occupied by wave than being occupied by wave. In this single speed cube section, there are many triple spikes and jump orbs.
* 71-100%: After the cube comes a short ball spam part, and then a straight-fly ship with fewer jump orbs than other parts of the level but still some jump orbs. After the ship sequence, there is a UFO segment with numerous jump orbs, and a mini-cube transition to another extremely tight slow-speed mini ship sequence. After the ship is an easy cube section and a triple spike. Then, the level ends with ViruZ and Sneaky's name, as well as "Hyper Paracosm", "GG", and "Verified by EndLevel".

Trivia
* There is a sequel called Arctic Lights. It was verified by EndLevel as well. It features a blue color scheme instead.
* There is a debate whether this level is harder or easier than Sonic Wave
* This level has kind of became a meme because it is one of a few levels that people want RobTop to rate, but he doesn't.
** The levels involved in this meme other than Hyper Paracosm include Sakupen Realm, WcropoliX, Poltergeist Reborn, Arctic Lights and Crimson Planet.
** RobTop also recently rated Despacito Circles, even though he has said he is tired of the Nine Circles series.

Cataclysm is a 1.9/2.0 Extreme Demon, originally created and uploaded with a hacked verification by Ggb0y. The level was later updated and verified legitimately by Riot. Upon its release, it was featured and became one of the hardest levels in Geometry Dash, but is now deemed one of the easier extreme demons in the game. It is currently #98 on the Official Geometry Dash Demon List, above Violently X (#99) and below Awakening Horus (#97).
History
Cataclysm possesses a very interesting story within the Geometry Dash community.

A popular creator, known as Ggb0y, uploaded a video on December 30, 2014, showing the fourth preview of his upcoming Extreme Demon named Cataclysm, set to be the hardest level in the game up until that point.

Fast forward, and Ggb0y had invested over 80,000 attempts to try and verify the level, but still couldn't beat it. So, he used hacks to verify Cataclysm. Some time after, players like ZorroZ Zet and Lyra Bandicoot said that they beat it legitimately, but later confessed to hacking the level (clearly seen because of the facts that their waves, trail and jump rings were not pulsing in places they should have been).

After all this, everyone thought it was impossible to complete Cataclysm without any hacks. But eventually, an extremely skilled Korean player named Cyclic was thought to have completed it without any hacks on Stream, and he was considered to be "the first survivor" of the Cataclysm (which subsequently blew up Cyclic's channel and his popularity), though later admitting he hacked the level (and later, confessed to hacking every major demon he ever beat).

After Cyclic, a highly skilled player called Giron was the first to legitimately beat it, who still calls it his "best work" as of today. Soon after, a very skilled player called Sandstorm and an extremely skilled player called Riot did it at the same day. That made them the second and third players respectively to complete it (Riot's popularity also blew up after this). Then Powerbomb was the fourth, and Creepy Dash became the fifth. Soon, more and more people started to beat Cataclysm, and with the release of Bloodbath, Cataclysm was knocked down in the list and was no longer the legendary hardest demon it was once considered.

However a year later, Riot let Ggb0y update Cataclysm by buffing the ship sequences, adding an "extra death", as well as user coins in the level. Riot verified the newly buffed update of Cataclysm legitimately on stream. This version is now known as "New Cataclysm" and is considerably harder than "Old" Cataclysm.

Gameplay
* 0-6%: The level starts off with a fairly easy half speed cube section, with a few fake jump orbs.

* 6-20%: Next, the player enters a very hard double speed wave segment that contains tight spaces, many size change portals, and inconsistent and awkward timing. It then turns into an auto segment, briefly into a cube, where "CATACLYSM/GGBOY" appear briefly on screen.
* 20-26%: After that is a hard triple speed ship sequence with gravity portals and many invisible size portals that require very light tapping and good transition controlling to avoid death. The ship was one of the few parts completely overhauled after the 2.0 update.
* 26-30%: It changes back into a mini wave at half speed, but is easier than the first wave as it is not double speed.
* 30-38: The player then changes into a double speed ball that requires very good timing and hitter clicks, then goes half speed and goes through very tight spaces, with a few speed changes to try and throw the player off.
* 38-43%: The player then enters a double speed UFO segment with many jump rings, gravity portals and tight spaces with fairly awkward timing.
* 43-47%: This UFO then transitions to a half speed ship sequence that requires insanely straight flying, and also has jump rings and gravity portals; missing one jump ring results in a crash.
* 47-56%: The ship then transitions into a double speed cube that needs good timing, then turns into a half speed mini cube that mostly requires a little bit of mashing.
* 56-68%: Afterwards, the player heads into the halfway section of Cataclysm, where the player becomes a ball that needs a little bit of hitter clicking and good timing. Gameplay-wise this is the easiest part of Cataclysm, however, the level becomes dark with the obstacles flashing intermittently and it becomes hard to see where the player is going, and switches to the cube and ship a few times before going back to a ball, which can throw off players not used to the section.
* 68-81%: The level then goes into Cataclysm's last two hard sections, which are a very difficult ship and a tight half speed wave. The half speed ship is very difficult, having extremely tight spaces, size changes. and a short dual section halfway through the ship. The second user coin is hidden here.
* 81-91%: Afterwards, the player goes into the last part of the level, which is a tight spaced half speed wave segment. Multiple players are known for crashing here, either out of nervousness and anxiety, or just screwing it up.
* 91-94%: After this moderately difficult wave segment, the player enters a short robot section containing the third and final user coin.
* 94-100%: Then, the level ends with one final ship sequence, with the well known area that says "GBOY", the creator's name, and "U NEED TO REST", finishing with "GG" and a two block space to fly through but requires to keep straight from flying as if there were spikes before ending. After that, a hall of fame of those who have finished the level legitimately can be seen and a message from Ggb0y admitting to hacking it and an apology, and lastly thanking Riot for verifying the level and adding coins, from which the level ends.

User Coins
This level has 3 user coins. The first and last ones require some timing to obtain, but the second one is fairly easy to get with good memory and straight fly.
* The first coin is fairly easy to get with relatively simple timing. You must hit a blue orb, and you will get a coin. A teleportation portal will send you back on course.
* The second coin is the easiest of the coins. At the first segment in the dual ship, fly between the spiked area to get the coin. You will exit the little space and continue the level. This route is agreed to be easier than the route that prevents the coin collection.
* The third coin towards the ending. You must hit the last blue jump and you go through the gravity portal. While in it, tap because there is an invisible orb that will take you up to the last coin.

Trivia
* Ggb0y had to hack to verify this map. However, since the harder update of Cataclysm, Riot has legitimately verified the level.
* It took Ggb0y 80088 attempts to verify the level, even when he used hacks. These attempts were likely faked.
* Other players like Lyra Bandicoot also had to hack to complete the map. This sparked a lot of debate which resulted in many users uploading videos on how to spot hackers of the game.
* Cataclysm was the hardest map ever created but, after creation of Bloodbath and Sonic Wave, those both became the hardest.
* The level is part of an official trilogy, consisting of (in order): Cataclysm, Bloodbath, and Aftermath.
* Riot is the first player confirmed to have beaten Cataclysm more than once, completing all three runs in livestreams, and the last one being a reverification of Cataclysm for Ggb0y to update coins into the level.
* Cyclic had admitted to hacking this level, so GironDavid was the first. Sandstorm & Riot both completed the level a week after GironDavid, making Sandstorm and Riot the second and third players respectively to beat Cataclysm. Powerbomb soon followed as the fourth, and Creepy Dash as the fifth.
* Players, who beat the level before it got updated have now been added to the "hall of fame" at the end of the level. This list comprises the following players: Cyclic, GironDavid, Sandstorm, Riot, Powerbomb, Creepy Dash, MaxiS9, MrKebab, Smokes, SoulsTRK, Danilkaz, Elite, R3YGA, and Mabby01.
* Sandstorm is the second player to beat the updated version of Cataclysm, getting all three coins in the process. Not too long after, Kins0 and Quasar followed Sandstorm and became the respective third and fourth players to beat the new version of Cataclysm. Then, Brandon Larkin beat the updated version with 2 coins, making him the fifth person to beat the updated Cataclysm. Finally, as of April 21, 2016, hotball1 completed the level on stream, making him the 6th, most recent and youngest player (11 years old) to complete the updated level.
* Ggb0y claims he made this level to replace Ice Carbon Diablo X. The level did end up becoming harder than it, but was eventually dethroned upon the publishing and rating of Bloodbath.
* The "GG" obstacle that appears at the ending has been imitated in many other difficult demon levels, and sometimes in impossible levels.
* Despite the fact that a player, Garomo, has appeared to have legitimately beaten Cataclysm before Mabby01, his legitimacy was not known before the Cataclysm coin update. Therefore, he is currently not on the "Hall of Fame" in the level.
* Renato 16 is the only person to have beaten Cataclysm on phone with a YouTube video. He beat the old version before the update as it appears to be the old version and gives stars, but it is unknown on which date he beat it because he uploaded the video after the update came out.
** It is possible he had the old version stored on his phone when he beat it.
* TrusTa has created a level which the player have to beat the old version of Cataclysm two times which is called "Multi Clysm". TrusTa has also beaten this level almost 30 times. He says that he is attempting to beat the level 100 times.
* The record for the lowest number of attempts to beat Cataclysm is 546, by Temporum.
**Unfortunately, the video that served as a proof cannot be watched anymore, as he put the video to private.
* There is a redecorated and redone version of Cataclysm made by LazerBlitz called Quest for Perfection. It uses a blue and black color scheme, and replaces the last wave of Cataclysm with a difficult mixed dual. Most other sections of the level are merged, however.
* Cataclysm is currently the most defeated demon on the Demon List, with more than 600 victors.
* Bloodbath and Aftermath are directly inspired by this level, being direct extensions of the original level. Hundreds of other levels are thought to be inspired by this demon as well.
** Ggb0y's level Infernal Abyss was supposedly an intended sequel to Cataclysm, however that idea was dropped once Bloodbath was released, being the official sequel to Cataclysm, and when Manix648 and Bianox took over designing it.
* Sunix himself stated that he believes Cataclysm is more like Hard Demon difficulty to him.
* There is a buffed remake called Armageddon.

Erebus is a 2.0/2.1 Extreme Demon collaboration created by Rustam and Ilrell, and verified and published by BoldStep. It is themed and designed around the idea of a "radioactive facility". The level is unique in the sense that it is one of the only top 50 demon levels with a primarily green color palette, with its closest contender being the Nine Circles level Down Bass, positioned at #52. It is currently #6 on the , above Yatagarasu (#7) and below Sonic Wave (#5).

History
Erebus was first revealed to the public when Rustam released a preview of it on May 29, 2016, showcasing the basic gameplay. About two months later, Rustam released another preview, showing the full level and the extreme demonish gameplay.

About a month later, Rustam chose Stealz to be the verifier, but eventually, he quit because of how frustrating the level was. The new verifier was BoldStep, an extremely skilled Australian player who beat Allegiance and A Bizarre Phantasm at that time.

A few days later, he did a 61-100% start position run, making great progress very quickly. Over a month later, he got 45%, then 48%, making progress rapidly. Just a few days later, BoldStep got a record of 72%, which is amazing progress just after a few days. Four days later, he got 75%, a small gap but another impressive achievement in just a few days.

A few weeks later, BoldStep got a record of 87%, another great progress putting BoldStep closer to victory. On the same day, he got 91%, the closest and the worst fail BoldStep has had. Two days later, BoldStep finally verified Erebus on March 17, 2017. After 40,803 attempts and over three months, one of the hardest demons in Geometry Dash history was verified. Currently, it is ranked at #6 in the Official Geometry Dash Demon List, between Sonic Wave and Yatagarasu.

Gameplay
* 0-13%: The level starts the player off with a triple speed mini ship sequence with some art in the form of a robot at the very beginning with the text "Ilrell & Rustam" "Erebus" and "Boldstep" easily visible directly underneath the art piece. The first bit of game-play then follows in the form of a half speed difficult mini ship sequence with some gravity switching from both portals and jump orbs alike. The level transitions to a tight mini wave segment with size switching instead of gravity this time. Coming up is a short ball featuring several blue jump orbs which require difficult timings in order to get through, and right after, a tough upside-down ship sequence containing the first of the two coins which can be collected via a tiny straight fly. More straight flying follows as the ship turns mini and transitions into the next part.

* 13-39%: This section adds an extra layer of mystery to the song and bumps up the speed as well. First, a four spike jump immediately followed by a hard but short straight fly and an insanely narrow mini wave segment and a fast mini robot right after that with lots of difficult orb timings. Soon the robot turns into a cube and proceeds into a line of pink orbs, a blue and green orb, and yet another line of pink orbs. Some more orb timings appear as the player now enters a mini straight fly, which if passed, will be awarded by the long auto coming up. This auto segment takes up about 8% of the level and consists of a large text saying "Erebus" in the background with a custom font.

* 40-61%: The player then enters a mini ship sequence and is thrown into a barrage of extreme gameplay starting with a single green orb straight into a ball with insane timing and a short, near-impossible mini straight fly followed by even more timing, this time as a cube requiring blue orbs in both the air and ground to be tapped as well as a green orb and another blue orb leading the player into a UFO with even more extreme timing with orbs. Following this is a cube maze located right before the drop which has very limited vision and tons of fake orbs. Not only that, but it also turns dual for the last few seconds as well, then the drop appears.

* 62-80%: Here it starts off as a mini straight fly leading into an extreme mini wave segment, then a cube section, all in the span of about one second. This cube is filled with orbs of both green and blue variety, and they all require insane timing as well. Next up, there is yet another tiny straight fly into a ball with some more insane timing as it now enters ship form which tests the player's maneuverability through a decently long part followed by a spam wave into another tiny straight fly quickly turning into a cube afterwards. Like earlier cubes, this one contains lots of orbs testing the players timing with both blue orbs and a pink orb. A short but insane mini wave comes next leading into the last 20% of the level.

* 81-100%: The wave turns into a symmetrical dual cube with a jump and a pink orb into a similar segment, although now played as a ball. Following this ball is what is considered by many the hardest part of the level, referred to as the dreaded ship, according to BoldStep himself. A ship sequence of such extreme precision, stretching over 2.5 seconds and located 85% into the level, is only one of the reasons why this level is as high up on the list as it is. If passed, the player will turn into a triple speed mini cube with some of the final insane orb and jump timings of the level right before the last straight fly and a single ball tap into a short auto leading the player to the final jump of the level: a five-spike jump. Located on a platform held up by two fists, this serves as the final click of the entire level and will grant the player with the second and final coin of the level and the text "Verified by BoldStep," "Layout by Ilrell," "Decorated by Rustam" and "GG." Then, the level ends.

User Coins
* User Coin 1: At 11% in the ship sequence, if the player goes through the narrow passage between the spikes, the player will obtain the first coin.
* User Coin 2: The player obtains this coin when he completes this level after jumping over the spike at the end.
* Sung-Su Kim crashed at 91%.
* Temporum crashed at 76%.

Trivia
* Despite its extreme difficulty which ousted almost all other demon levels upon its release, it is one of the shorter extreme demons, only standing at roughly one minute and ten seconds long.
** The difficulty mostly derives from its inconsistency compared to other levels, the gameplay having numerous bugs that cause the player to crash.
* A few parts in the level were remade for the final version, including the 8% long auto. This originally contained one of Rustam's high detailed skulls (now used in Yatagarasu) and the text "Still not dead?" written beside it. The second revision of the auto segment also contained the skull but instead of "Still not dead?" it was an actual logo for Erebus.
** The cube maze right before the drop was also changed a bit. Although the game-play did not change, lots of black translucent bars were added all over the screen to obscure the player's vision and further increase the difficulty of the level.
* The level started its life on the Official Extreme and Insane Demons Ranking List as #3, behind Yatagarasu and Sonic Wave, but its difficulty was soon realized and it was moved above Yatagarasu on the list and claimed the #2 spot. Then, on July 18th, it became subject to another underrating, and was moved above the legendary Sonic Wave because of the very few victors, like EndLevel, stating that Erebus was in fact harder. And so, with all of this in mind, it was put at number 1 on the list.
* Skullo has a pink and blue version called Guccibus.
* In Greek mythology, Erebus is the god of darkness and shadows, as well as the brother of Gaea, the goddess of nature and the earth.
Heartbeat is a 2.0 Extreme Demon collaboration created by KrmaL (who also hosted, verified and published it), AncientAnubis, and AirSwipe. It is known for its odd gameplay relative to other levels by the creators, mashing, tight spaces, memorization, and timings. It also contains three verified user coins. It is currently #86 on the Official Geometry Dash Demon List, above Allegiance (#87) and below CholeriX (#85).

Gameplay
The level starts with a half speed cube section with a series of two-spike jumps. Next, there is a mashing mini-cube segment where the player must deliberately miss one of the blue jump orbs to fall up and enter the next part. This is followed by a mini cube segment with a bunch of mashing and tricks to throw off the player. Then there is a memory cube part with rows of moving orbs, followed by a tricky timing-based mini cube. Afterwards, there is a section with many tricky orb configurations with many gravity portals. Then there is a ball part with a lot of memorization and timings. This is followed by a similar dual ball segment. Then there is an easier ball part followed by a cube part with a single jump orb. Then there is a difficult UFO segment that features numerous tight timings as well as tricky gravity portals and orb usage. At the end, there is a part with lots of UFO spam. Then there is a slow speed cube segment, leading into a very long wave spam section with lots of speed and size changes. This is followed by a rather difficult ship section with many orbs and tricks to avoid. Then there is a rather difficult robot part with numerous tricky jumps. Last, there is a rather long cube section with the player flipping around quite a lot as well as lots of memorization. At the end of this, the level ends with KrmaL's (as Krazyman50) name and the two decorators, Anubis and AirSwipe.

Trivia
* This level was verified just before KrmaL took a break.
* This level has a fake secret way that allows the player up to 99% before abruptly killing them.
* This considered one of the most hated levels due to the song and gameplay which has tons of spamming
Bausha Vortex is a 2.1 Extreme Demon created by Pennutoh and verified by ThatJ4ke. It is an extremely difficult remake of Nine Circles and features a vast amount of crucial timings, invisible portals, and moving obstacles. Due to this, the level is considered to be harder than Down Bass. Unlike most Nine Circles remakes, this one features a unique effect, found only to a few remakes, which is a typical electro-styled level, hence the nickname "Electric Circles"<nowiki/>. It is currently #25 on the , above Fabrication (#26) and below The Hell World (#24).

Gameplay
The level starts with a difficult cube section that consists of mostly gravity changes and annoying timings. A low-detail mode key (referred to as "Lag Killer" in the level) is found here.

Next, the player enters a very hard ship sequence, which closely resembles Quasar's ship sequence. The background design of this part is somehow same as the original Nine Circles ship background but does utilizes moving background and 2.0 decoration, then followed by a confusing cube mode which ultimately focuses on memory because of the amounts of fake lining, portals, and jump pads throughout this part. After the part, the gravity changes and the words: "GOOD LUCK!" can be seen.

The most difficult part of the level starts as well as the drop: The infamous epileptic wave mode utilized by most Nine Circles levels. Also, there is a custom background can be found. (Assuming that the Lag Killer isn't activated.) This wave part contains extremely tight spaces. To add insult to the injury: almost all of the slopes contains a spiky thorns that makes this level into a pure wave hell, additionally it also contains content that makes some hard Nine Circles have: sudden speed changes, dual portals, wave fakes, and tight spaces.

The wave mode also features a ball/wave mixed dual inspired by an unrated Nine Circles level called 'Fox Circles' and a buggy and yet annoying dual flat out wave mode.

The last part of the level is a cube segment, mostly contains triple spikes which oddly resembles Firewall's first cube part. In-order to add difficulty to this part: some of the spikes here are moving, designed to confuse the player unequivocally.

The level then ends with a short ball segment, with the words: "BAUSHA VORTEX VERIFIED BY Temporum".
Trivia
* The Nine Circles' color schemes during the wave part are: Violet, Cerulean, Sea Green, Yellow, Orange, and Fuchsia respectively.
* The level features very good sync, like many of Pennutoh's levels.
** Shortly before putting to verify Bausha Vortex, Temporum made a video about his favorite syncing levels (and creators), and there was Pennutoh.
* "Bausha" or "Bauscia" is a term that defines the highest social class in the Italian city of Milan.
* Temporum failed at 98% during verification.

Not to be confused with Ice Carbon Zust.

Ice Carbon Diablo X (commonly abbreviated to ICDX) is a 1.6 Extreme Demon created and hacked by Roadbose, known for its abundance of straight flying segments and formerly "impossible"-deemed difficulty. ICDX was previously one of the most difficult levels in Geometry Dash, its difficulty often being compared to Cataclysm in the time after its release, until it was discovered that Roadbose hacked the level's verification. Riot was the very first player to complete it legitimately. Which of these levels is harder, and ultimately the hardest demon, has been a matter of debate among Geometry Dash players for a long time. However, with the creation and legitimate verification of Bloodbath by Riot (and the update of Cataclysm, making it much harder than ICDX) many arguments upon this subject were disbanded, as the community now knew which demon was the hardest. Nowadays it is considered as one of the easiest extreme demons. It is also the oldest rated Extreme Demon. It is now in the legacy list of the Official Geometry Dash Demon List.

Gameplay
The level starts off with a moderately difficult cube section, consisting of an difficult jump over a sawblade. Next, the player enters a very hard ship sequence, going through very tight spaces and tight diagonals. It then goes into a very short ball, which has a blue jump orb over a spike. Then, the player enters a UFO part, which has a very hard first obstacle requiring near-perfect timing, then it goes into anti-gravity, then a size-portal. It then goes through a one-block space through a cube portal, while still in mini mode. The cube is relatively simple involving a few fakes and simple jumps. In a part in the cube section, there is a trick ship portal meant to kill the player. After passing the UFO portal, the cube segment becomes significantly harder with more skill required. It then goes into a very brief UFO segment where the player has to avoid a ship portal, then go through the "demon-heads" into another cube section. After that, the ship part that follows is extremely hard, consisting of one-block spaces and invisible spikes. A slightly hard mini-cube then follows, which passes through a simple UFO segment, then returns to a cube segment, which then becomes an anti-gravity ship sequence with a tight diagonal space, which then reverts into a cube segment with a few obstacles. A very hard ball part comes after, involving timed switches, fakes, and jump orbs. It then enters an easy mini UFO segment which is nearly identical to Clubstep's first UFO segment, then passes through an easy ship sequence into a hard cube segment, involving a lot of timing and numerous fakes. It then transitions to a very hard ball segment, which requires even more timing and memorization skills compared to the one before it. After that is a very hard ship, which is almost entirely made of one block spaces, then into a cube with numerous fakes. A ship sequence similar to the second one follows, which then becomes mini and goes into a semi-tight diagonal part, then goes back to being a cube, and then a very short one-switch ball comes and instantly reverts to cube, which then enters the last part of the level. At 95%, a mini-ship sequence that has one block spaces with routine gravity portals starts, then the player arrives at the creator's name and the last one block space. Then, the level ends.
Trivia
* This level was once thought to be borderline impossible until Update 1.9, when Riot completed it.
* Andromeda originally hacked the level, but later had re-beaten it legitimately as the start of his redemption.
* This level had originally had around 9,000 more dislikes than likes due to being hacked. However, when Cyclic completed/hacked it, it received a huge number of likes, turning the ratio around to positive.
* On March 1, 2017, this level was accidentally hacked by Cos8o, when it and all of Roadbose's levels but not GW RoadMC2's were all somehow moved to Powerbomb's account.
* This level is now on the legacy demon list, having fell from the ranks of the top demons since its initial positioning on the list.

Fails
* Riot crashed at 95% due to bad timing.
* SrGuillester crashed at 95%.
* Satcho crashed at 95%.
* Sandstorm crashed at 96% due to bad timing.
* GoodSmile crashed at 96% due to bad timing.
* Mabby01 crashed at 95% and 96%.
* Andromeda crashed at 83%, 95% and 96%.
* TrusTa crashed at 95% and 96%.
* R3YGA crashed at 96% and 98%.
* GuitarHeroStyles crashed at 87%.
* AzaFTW crashed at 87% due to flying too high in the ship sequence leading to a timing error in the cube section.
* Ozzy612 crashed at 97% due to bad consistency on the straight fly section.
* EricVanWilderman (EVW) crashed at 95% due to descending too far just before the straight flying near the end of the level. He beat it a few days after.
*lFuZioN crashed at 96%.
