Update 1.9 is the ninth major update to Geometry Dash. It was released to iOS, Android, and some other mobile devices on November 9, 2014. This update is considered to be the largest and most effective update in the game's history. In this update, two main levels, Blast Processing and Theory of Everything 2, were added to the game.

Previews
Prior to the release of Update 1.8, Topala said in a conversation at Touch Arcade Forums:

<blockquote>"I have a lot of ideas for update 1.9 that could be huge for the game, but more on that after I release 1.8... muahaha"
</blockquote>

On August 13, 2014, Topala posted his first Update 1.9 preview image, which shows five icons wearing different-colored headphones. This made way for much anticipation throughout the Geometry Dash community, resulting in theories involving soundtrack changes within a level and new game modes.

On August 26, 2014, Topala created another image depicting three-dimensional blocks, arousing much excitement among Geometry Dash players. He continued with the idea on August 28, posting a picture on Facebook about what could be built using the blocks.

On September 6, 2014, another image was posted through Topala's social media accounts featuring several different new map components that would be used in future levels of Geometry Dash. This included two new icons, gear-like obstacles, and various different unknown types of blocks. The most prominent feature was a new thick blue portal that would likely result in another game mode being introduced. It was also released to the public that Topala would release the game to Steam, a popular internet-based social media platform.

On September 14, 2014, Topala posted yet another image onto his social media accounts. It has a blast and processor for Blast Processing by Waterflame and a book, an infinity symbol, and a "2" for Theory of Everything 2 by DJ Nate, with the latter likely to be the demon level, following similar lines to Update 1.6.

On September 21, 2014, another image was posted through Facebook and Twitter. This image introduced a new custom music feature that would allow players to include music from Newgrounds in their custom levels. The image includes ten icons with headphones at the bottom. It was the first picture to indicate that the update was a work in progress. Upon the release of the image, Topala said that a sneak peek video for the next levels would be coming soon.

On September 28, 2014, Topala officially released the first Update 1.9 sneak peek video, which showed the first 21 seconds of Blast Processing. As seen in the video, the new blue portal changed the icon to an arrow-like object with physics similar to those seen in the mobile game Wave Wave.

On October 10, 2014, he released another sneak peek video featuring the second level, Theory of Everything 2. In this video, a new background and a new design of ship was used. Topala was also playing the game on his computer, indicating that he may have been using the future Steam version.

On October 18, 2014, Topala confirmed that the update would be released soon after he had fixed a minor issues in the backup and music systems. He also said he was working on the Steam version, and hinted on Update 2.0, stating that he will continue improving the user account system devised in 1.9.

On November 4, 2014, Topala posted that the update was submitted for review and was waiting to be accepted.

On November 9, 2014, almost three months after Update 1.9 was first mentioned, Topala confirmed the release of 1.9 and stated that it would release to iOS and Android devices around the same time, and the Steam version would be released as soon as possible.

On November 13, 2014, Update 1.9 was released to the Windows Phone App Store.

On November 14, 2014, Update 1.91 was released to all devices. This was a minor update that fixed a few bugs.

On November 15, 2014 update 1.9 was released on Amazon devices.

Introductions
* New level "Blast Processing"
* New level "Theory of Everything 2"
* New "Wave" Game mode
* New music system. Build and share levels using custom music from Newgrounds
* Backup system! Store and sync your progress between devices and platforms
* User account system. (Unique user names and backup, will include more in update 2.0)
* New achievements, colors and icons.
* Lots of new details and level objects.
* Everyplay support for Android.
* Customize the color of objects in the level editor (including 4 custom color channels).
* Color coding in editor to make different objects more clear.
* New search options.
* Improved server performance for downloading levels.
* Copy/paste support in editor. (not duplicate, paste object anywhere in the level).
* Level editor object limit increased from 12,000 to 15,000.
* Lots of bug fixes and improvements.
* The 99% achievement got nerfed to dying between 95% and 99%, making it possible to get the achievement in all main levels (including Lite ones), not just Electrodynamix.
* A lot of difficulties for levels have been changed: Back on Track now is Easy, Polargeist and Dry Out now are Normal, Base After Base and Can't Let Go now are Hard and Jumper, Time Machine and Cycles are now Harder.
* A new secret achievement was added (Master Detective!)

Sneak peeks
Trivia
* The new arrow-like form, known as the Wave, was inspired by the mechanics of the mobile game Wave Wave. It is supposed the concept was brought to light by a popular Geometry Dash player, Darnoc, who created a level (also named Wave Wave), mimicking its mechanics using condensed groups of gravity rings and the UFO.
* This is the first update to include a sequel of a main level song: Theory of Everything 2
* This is the second update that includes two new main levels. (1.6 with Electroman Adventures and Clubstep, and now 1.9 with Blast Processing and Theory of Everything 2)
* Both Update 1.6 and Update 1.9 featured music from both Waterflame and DJ Nate.
* Some people thought that Eternity would be Level 18, but that was later proven false when the Theory of Everything 2 preview came out.
* Many users thought that Update 1.9 would be released on Halloween, but the update ended up being released 9 days later.

Geometry Dash Lite is the lite version of Geometry Dash. Its popularity greatly surpasses that of the full version being free to download. It currently includes seven levels from the full version, supports Everyplay, lacks level editing and sharing features, and is ad-supported.
#Jumper

Since the content is limited, the total amount of unlockables is also greatly reduced. A maximum of 28 stars and 21 secret coins are available, along with 38 achievements.

Trivia
*The original seven levels of Geometry Dash all progressed to the Lite version after several updates.
*Certain achievements have been changed to be possible within the Lite version, allowing several ships to be unlocked far more easily in comparison to the full version.
*A maximum of 20 secret coins will unlock all related achievements, while stars do not serve any purpose without any related achievements.
*The achievement "So close...", requiring the player to crash at 99% is impossible due to the design of the available levels physically not allowing such to happen. This may possibly be changed in the future to reflect the change in the full version.
*On January 15, 2015, (Prior to Update 2.0) Robert posts a Youtube video of someone playing Time Machine, where he states that the level will be included in the 1.9 update of Geometry Dash Lite.
Description
Time Machine is the first level not to appear in the Lite Version. It does not introduce many new elements; however, it is considerably more difficult than Jumper overall. It does, however, introduce the Mirror Portal, which changes the direction in which the player is moving (from right to left instead of left to right).

It starts off with a few simple jumps in cube form, but then becomes a bit tricky with some triple-spike jumps. In fact, this entire level is notorious for these jumps. A little while into the level, the screen changes blue and the player enters into a tricky section with groups of spikes, close jumps, and yellow jump pads. This section lasts for four phrases in the soundtrack. Afterwards, the player hits a mirror portal which looks like three rings of different sizes next to each other, and it orange in color. After a bit more of the cube, the player enters a short ship section which requires some control. Then, there is a somewhat longer cube section which comprises the bulk of the level. This starts going in mirror, flips back to anti-mirror with a blue portal and also goes in antigravity, again flips to mirror, then back to no mirror. After this back-and-forth action, the level finally ends with a short ship section which goes into anti-gravity at the very end.

Secret coins
* The first secret coin is after the second blue gravity portal. After you pass the portal and jump pass the spike, jump on the platform and collect the secret coin.
* The second secret coin is located on the first ship sequence. Fly through the center block and then collect the secret coin; sounds easy but hard.
* The third coin is after the blue mirror portal. Flipped upside-down, on the last yellow pad, don't jump on the platform. Be prepared to jump midair on the purple jump rings. Also be prepared to jump past the two-spike.

Walkthrough
Trivia
* At the second-last "Anti-Gravity" Portal, speech can be heard saying "This is a Time Machine."
* Holding jump from the start will allow you to jump on the hanging spike wall. Still holding jump will allow you to jump off and continue as normal, like the second secret coin in Dry Out.
* This is the first level introduced with an update, Update 1.1.
* This level also reveals the first pink rings although not introduced yet officially introduced in Theory of Everything).
* It takes 1:39 to complete the level.
* Time Machine is the only level where a secret coin can be found in the mirror mode.
Its popularity greatly surpasses that of the full version being free to download. It currently includes seven levels from the full version, supports Everyplay, lacks level editing and sharing features, and is ad-supported.

#Back on Track
#Polargeist
#Base After Base
#Can't Let Go

*On January 15, 2015, (Prior to Update 2.0) Robert posts a Youtube video of someone playing Time Machine, where he clearly states: “This level will be included in the next Lite version update”.
Notes
*The size portal affects individual forms in different ways. The cube loses jumping height but can perform successive jumps quicker. The UFO also loses jumping height and takes less time to begin descending, and the Wave makes a steeper angle than before. However, what is applicable to all forms is the same constant speed which is unchanging from the enlarged state, but gives the impression that while shrunken, the icons move quicker as a result of looking small.
*The slow speed portal was in Hexagon Force following the initially released speed portals. The speed portals were actually in Update 1.7, in Electrodynamix.
*The copy from a copy portal inverts the chosen colour scheme. While a copy is existent, a collision will terminate the original, and vice versa, with each icon fully able to interact with its surroundings.
*When the icon enters a manipulation portal, the screen often flashes in an unusual manner. The gravity pads also act in the same way.
* The mirror portal effect is purely visual, and as such is not seen in the editor.

Form Portals
The following portals change the form of the player:

Notes
*Players still have the ability to use jump rings in the forms.
* If the cube form goes above the 60-playing-area space in anti-gravity or in such ways to reach it, it acts like a hazard and makes the player die. This can be seen in a glitch in the start of xStep.

Trivia
*Gravity and mirror are the only options not available to begin in a custom level. But gravity can still be changed from start position.
*By entering a Form Portal that is used to transform you into the same form you were in before entering, you can shift the playing area either higher or lower, as long as the second Form Portal is place higher or lower than the first one. This trick is used to enter the alternate route for the third secret coin in Stereo Madness.
* The size portal is the only manipulation portal that does not use blue as a deactivation portal, instead it uses green.
** In this small form, the cube and ball forms are manipulated by changing the detail from its original form to one that resembles the very first type from their icon kits respectively.
* All portals (except the speed portals which are not three-dimensional) have an effect in the Level Editor, where only a part of the portal is shown.

Description
Clubstep is currently one of the two demon levels in the Geometry Dash levels list. Many of the obstacles require going in or around so-called demons. Clubstep introduces lots of new items, including invisible spikes, invisible blocks, And Triangular Toothless Blades.

Secret coins
*The first coin can be found at one of the first antigravity sections: it is clearly visible. There will be a series of three jump rings, and you must hit the second one to slide through the wall opening containing the coin.

*The second coin can be found near the end of the level at the mini UFO part. Immediately after switching into mini UFO, quickly tap many times to jump up into a hidden passage above the one you would normally take. Dodge three small near-invisible spikes and grab the coin.

*The last coin can be found at the end of the level. When you reach the last set of monsters in ship mode, the first monster here will have no floor. Slip through this opening, go under four tiny spinning blades and grab the coin.

Trivia
*Clubstep was the only official Demon level until 1.9, which introduced Theory of Everything 2.
* Clubstep takes 1:30 to complete.
*Clubstep has 6 ship portals, however it only has one ball portal and two UFO portals.
*Most levels give a color in Practice mode, and an icon in Normal mode. For Clubstep, however, it gives a secondary black color as a reward for Normal mode and a UFO for completing it in Practice mode (making it unfair?). However, the Steam version introduced another icon for completing Clubstep.
*The name "Clubstep" is a pun on dubstep, which is also the type of music playing during the level.
*Just before the first ship portal on the invisible blocks. A gap in the map can be seen at the bottom of the screen. A likely result of copy and paste indicating the level was rushed through.
*If you jump right before the first ship portal instead of hitting the gravity pad, you can fly upside down in the first part of the flying section.
* At 53 seconds and 63 seconds into the level there are large unfilled areas, another indication the level was rushed through.
* If you hold down right from the start of the level, you will jump above the yellow pad and then you'll jump again from the block that near it, even though there's a spike on it.
* Theory of Everything 2 and Clubstep give the same amount of stars and they are both demon difficulty levels, but Clubstep requires 20 coins to unlock, while Theory of Everything 2 requires 30.
* When you beat Clubstep in normal mode on the Steam version, you get a new icon and unlock an achievement call SteamStep.
* Although the level is named Clubstep in the menu, the name of the soundtrack as shown in Newgrounds and YouTube is Club Step (with a space in the middle).
