Portals are special map components in Geometry Dash. They modify the way the player interacts with the level, and can even change the cube into different forms.
Manipulation portals
The following portals change the way the player interacts with the level:
Hexagon Force

Produces antigravity copy of icon. Also changes the playing area to 9, or 10 if one of the forms is in ship, UFO or wave mode.
Notes
*The speed portal affects individual forms in different ways. The cube loses jumping height but can perform successive jumps quicker. The UFO also loses jumping height and takes less time to begin descending, However, what is applicable to all forms is the same constant speed which is unchanging from the enlarged state, but gives the impression that while shrunken, the icons move quicker as a result of looking small.

*The slow speed portal was introduced in Hexagon Force following the initially released speed portals.

*The copy from a copy portal inverts the chosen colour scheme. While a copy is existent, a collision will terminate the original, and vice versa, with each icon fully able to interact with its surroundings.

*When the icon enters a manipulation portal, the screen often flashes in an unusual manner. The gravity pads also act in the same way.

Form Portals
The following portals change the form of the player:
scope="col"|Portal
scope="col"|Colour
scope="col"|First Encounter
scope="col"|Playing area
scope="col"|Description
Cube
Green
Stereo Madness
Unlimited
Changes the icon into a cube.
Ship
Pink
Stereo Madness
10
Changes the icon into a ship.
Ball
Red
Cycles
8
Changes the icon into a ball.
UFO
Orange
Theory of Everything
10
Changes the icon into a UFO.
Arrow
Blue
Blast Processing
10
Changes the icon into an arrow.

Notes
*Players still have the ability to use jump circles in three out of five forms.

Trivia
*Gravity and mirror are the only options not available to begin in a custom level. But gravity can still be changed from start position.
*The secret area in Stereo Madness is currently the only level in which there is a form portal in a secret coin path.
*Portals which turn a player back to 'normal' in a certain way are either blue or green, and vice versa (except for the Wave portal, which is a lighter blue than the other blue 'normal' portals)
Trivia
*The icons primary color will also be used in the progress bar if turned on.
* There are a total of 42 cube icons, 16 ship icons, 8 ball icons 8 UFO icons. At the time the number of triangle icons is unknown.
*Choosing black as the primary colour will change what is normally the black outline into the secondary colour. Several other changes occur which mostly applies the secondary colour to map components in place of the black.
*Update 1.7 added a special option unlocked by completing 10 map packs, which is a rainbow trail emitted behind the player.
*Cycles and xStep are the only levels where you can get icons both in Normal Mode and Practice Mode.
* The icon unlocked by completing Hexagon Force in Normal Mode is a reference of a Creeper, a popularised enemy creature from the game Minecraft.
Portals are special map components in Geometry Dash. They modify the way the player interacts with the level, and can even change the cube into different forms.
Manipulation portals
The following portals change the way the player interacts with the level:
Notes
*The size portal affects individual forms in different ways.

Notes
*Players still have the ability to use jump circles in three out of five forms.
*Pink, red, orange and blue form portals will shrink the playing area to only a fixed rectangular area. This feature does not allow players to travel unlimited distances with the rocket, UFO ball, or wave.

Trivia
*Gravity and mirror are the only options not available to begin in a custom level. But gravity can still be changed from start position.
*The secret area in Stereo Madness is currently the only level in which there is a form portal in a secret coin path.

The Icon Kit is a feature for cosmetically modifying the player's form in Geometry Dash. Although there is no physical difference to gameplay, the player can select from a variety of visually appealing options, including icons for the cube, ship, ball and UFO all with their own unique icons. Colours can also be applied to make unique creations consisting of a primary and secondary colour. However, the two chosen colours remain consistent between all forms, disallowing multiple colour schemes.

By completing Achievements, more colours and icons can be obtained.
Electrodynamix is the fifteenth level in Geometry Dash. It was added in Update 1.7 on May 21, 2014 with a rating of insane. New blocks and the speed portals were added to this update.

Level Information
This Level introduces the Speed Portals, but only two are shown on the level, the Double Speed (Green) and the Triple Speed (Pink). You start the level with Normal Speed, then the Double speed starts, while half way in the level, the Triple Speed is triggered, making it significantly harder.

This level has some new thing also, Colors of the Background on the First Rocket path and UFO Path, are the same as the player's primary and secondary colors, so be careful. Bright colors make the UFO Path very hard since the spikes are hard to be seen, so it is advised to use darker colors.

The hardest path of this level is the Rocket Parts during triple speed, as mini. It takes lots of tries (on practice) to handle the control of the rocket while passing narrow paths, so you have to be very careful on rocket.

Completion
When completed in normal mode, the player will get the achievement "Electrodynamix!" along with a new icon. When completed in practice mode, the player will get the achievement "Electromaniac" along with the primary color gray.

Trivia
* Besides the level which introduces the Speed Portals, this level also introduces the Mechanic which the background color is the same as the Player's Colors. (Mostly notable on the first Rocket Path and the Ufo Path)

* There are more than 18000 levels published with its music.
* The name "Electrodynamix" is based on "Electrodynamics".
* It is the first level without a coin in a rocket segment of the level.
* Electrodynamix is the only level where you can get "So close..." achievement, other than Hexagon Force.
* The May update added Electrodynamix.
* Despite Electrodynamix, Hexagon Force and Theory of Everything all rewarding the same amount of stars (12 stars), many consider Electrodynamix much harder than Hexagon Force and Theory of Everything.

Level overview
Introduced in update 1.60 along with Electroman Adventures, and giving 14 stars upon completion, Clubstep is commonly regarded as one of the hardest levels in normal mode (if user content is included). It is currently the only Demon level in the Geometry Dash levels list. Many of the obstacles require going through or around so-called demons. Clubstep introduces lots of new items, including invisible spikes, invisible blocks, and fake spikes.

Trivia
*Clustep is considered the most difficult official level.
*Most levels give a color in Practice mode, and an icon in Normal mode. For Clubstep it is the opposite.
*The name "Clubstep" is a pun on dubstep, which is also the type of music playing during the level.
*Just before the first ship portal on the invisible blocks. A gap in the map can be seen at the bottom of the screen.

The 1.9 Update is a future update to Geometry Dash. It will be out for the Android, Windows Phone, Amazon Devices, and iOS. This update will come out in early October. It will also release Blast Processing and likely Eternity.

Prior to the release of the 1.8 update, Robert Topala said in a conversation at Touch Arcade Forums:

<blockquote>"I have a lot of ideas for update 1.9 that could be huge for the game, but more on that after I release 1.8... muahaha"
</blockquote>

Previews
On August 13, 2014, Topala posted his first sneak preview image, showing five icons wearing different-colored headphones. It was revealed in a future hint image that it represented the custom music option.

On August 26, 2014, Topala created another image depicting three-dimensional blocks, arousing much excitement among Geometry Dash players. He continued with the idea on August 28, posting a picture on Facebook about what could be built using the blocks.

On September 6, 2014, another image was posted through Topala's social media accounts featuring several different new map components that would be used in future levels of Geometry Dash. This included two new icons, gear-like obstacles, and various different unknown types of blocks. The most prominent feature was a new thick blue portal that would likely result in another game mode being introduced. It was also released to the public that Topala would release the game to Steam, a popular internet-based social media platform.

On September 14, 2014, RobTop released an image on Facebook. It shows a blast, a processor, a book, an infinity symbol, and '2'. An educated guess has been given that the two next songs could possibly be Blast Processing by Waterflame and Eternity by DJVI, with the number 2 indicating the addition of two levels, one of which hinted to be a Demon level, following similar lines to Update 1.6. Others suggest that the last three icons mean that the second level will be Theory of Everything 2 by DJ Nate.

On September 21, 2014, another image was posted through Facebook and Twitter for the new "Custom Music" feature that will allow players to include music from Newgrounds in their custom levels. The image includes 10 icons with headphones at the bottom. It was the first picture to indicate that the update was "coming soon" rather than "work in progress." Upon the release of the image, Topala said that a sneak peek video for the next levels would be coming soon.

On September 28, 2014, Topala officially released the sneak peek video. The new, blue portal changed the icon to a triangular ball-like object. It featured the level Blast Processing.

Trivia
* Before the new mode, a level with similar mechanics (or almost the same) was published by Darnoc.The level name is Wave Wave and it includes an UFO and the screen is full of gravity rings,that the player taps to change gravity to avoid the spiked walls.Rated Insane.

<blockquote>"I have a lot of ideas for update 1.9 that could be huge for the game, but more on that after I release 1.8... muahaha"
</blockquote>

Electroman Adventures is the thirteenth level in Geometry Dash. It is rated insane, although it was initially rated as harder in the update it was released and in the next update back to insane.

Level description
Electroman Adventures came out in 1.6 update with level 14, Clubstep. It introduces non-colored sawblades and breakable blocks.

Unlockables
If you complete it in normal mode, you will unlock a new rocket icon (the one that looks like a spaceship). Completing it in practice gives you a cyan primary color.

Trivia
*The title "Electroman Adventures" is 1 character too long if it were to be a custom level title.
*Despite being the thirteenth level, only 10 stars are rewarded upon completion, most likely reflected by the old difficulty.
* There is a cheat which involves landing on the platform which would cause the player to becoming a rocket going the normal direction. With the cheat, the player can be a UFO going in reverse.
* All of the secret coins uses fake spikes in the pathway of getting them.
It is also the fifth stage marked with insane difficulty.

Description
xStep introduces blue pads and blue rings/circles on the regular path. The icon assumes three different forms through the level— the cube, rocket, and gravity ball. It is similar to Cycles in difficulty and features multiple tight rocket scenes. xStep is also the level that uses the greatest number of blue pads out of any level in the game, present throughout almost the entire second ship scene.

Clutterfunk
Clutterfunk introduces different sized saws,small,medium,and large
Dry Out is the fourth level in Geometry Dash. Along with Base After Base, its difficulty is rated harder. Dry Out is also a level in Geometry Dash Lite.

Description
Dry Out is the level that introduces gravity portals, something that appears in every level afterwards. This is a new challenge worth growing to understand, and is met in the second third of the first cube sequence. Throughout the level, there are vertical obstructions which prevent unnecessary jumping, requiring more specific movements along with a wider variety of jumping patterns. After the cube sequence, there is a ship sequence with large scattered blocks and then large spiked blocks, focusing on smoother navigation in order to avoid collisions. Finally, there is another short cube sequence before reaching the end of the level.

Trivia
*While formally introducing the Gravity Portal, Dry Out is not the first level it appears in, instead first occurring in Back on Track as part of collecting a secret coin.
* Speech is heard for the first time in a Geometry Dash level, at the first Gravity Portal
* AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
* gravity portals added

What is In the level
The level is Based around Twisted areas.There are also Gravity sections And a lot of spikes.
*Gravity portal: There are two thin-ringed variants; yellow changes the gravity to up, and blue changes the gravity to down. They are first formally encountered in Dry Out.2 Blue ones make Cameos in Back on Track And poltargeist To get Hard secret Coins.
*Mirror portal: There are two multi-ringed variants; orange flips the screen to travel left, and blue flips the screen to travel right. They are first encountered in Time Machine.
*Size portal: There are two speckly variants; pink shrinks the player, and green enlarges the player. This reduces the jumping height of the cube and UFO, although all forms still accelerate at the same speed. The player cannot be enlarged beyond normal size or shrunk more than once. They are first encountered in Clutterfunk.They Show a lighting Bolt When went through.
*Speed portal: There are four arrow variants; the single blue enables normal speed, this is the default speed on the level editor and is used in most levels, the double green enables fast speed, the triple purple enables very fast speed, and the backward orange enables slow speed. They are first encountered in Electrodynamix.
*Copy portal: There are two variants; orange produces a copy with reversed gravity and opposite colours which travels alongside the existing form, and blue deletes the copy. Each form can interact with the level independently. Dying with either form will terminate the remaining one. They are first encountered in Hexagon Force.
*UFO portal: The thick orange portal changes the player into a UFO. It is first encountered in Theory of Everything.
*Revert/cube portal: The thick green portal changes the player into a cube. It is first encountered in Stereo Madness.

Description
Time Machine introduces the mirror portal, while steadily increasing in difficulty from previous levels, notably including a much higher amount of triple spikes. The first sequence involves a few short antigravity sections and some basic jumping patterns before the screen flips leading into a ship sequence. It is partly hall-based travelling through spike-littered passages, emerging as the cube with some more jumping until the screen flips again. After a short time, another antigravity section is met, ending by dropping the cube leading up to another mirror portal, which can potentially detract the focus needed to successfully judge the oncoming jump correctly. The following sections consist of reversed then normal direction segments, then in that order again with antigravity. The transitions between sections can be particularly tricky, each with slightly differing times before needing to jump in order to avoid collisions. Triple spikes also occur quite frequently. The concluding sequence is another ship sequence through a jagged passage, flipping gravity before reaching the end of the When you jump over the first obstacle and keep jumping, you can jump over the spike wall and continue. This can take several attempts, however in time machine it is not used to get any coin.it can also be jumped if you keep your finger/mouse when you die.

What is in the level
The level is Based around Big jumps.It also contains Tight areas.There is Also many Mirrored Parts of this level.
<blockquote>"I have a lot of ideas for update 1.9 that could be huge for the game, but more on that after I release 1.8... muahaha"
On August 13, 2014, Topala posted an image on Twitter, reading "Update 1.9 ... Work in Progress." The picture showed five different icons wearing headphones. Later on August 26, 2014, he created another picture which featured three-dimensional blocks, possibly another major introduction in the update. A sneak peek has not been released up to this date. Also, I HATE THIS UPDATE!!!!!

Electroman Adventures is the thirteenth level in Geometry Dash. Its difficulty is ambiguous, as it's rated Insane currently on most devices although some iOS devices still mark it as Harder. It is considered the "ultimate challenge" because it contains all types of portals, and all mini vehicles.

Level description
Electroman Adventures came out in 1.6 update with level 14, Clubstep. It introduces non-colored Sawblades.

Unlockables
If you complete it in normal mode, you will unlock a new rocket icon (the one that looks like a spaceship). Completing it in practice gives you a cyan primary color.

Trivia
* If one wishes to remake this level with the Level Editor, they would have to name it "Electroman Adventure" or "ElectromanAdventures" as "Electroman Adventures" is 1 character too long for custom level titles
* Although Electroman Adventures is the 13th level, you only get 10 stars if you beat the level

* Electroman Adventures is the only level to be remarked
* Electroman Adventures is one of the three levels to have every portal (before 1.7). The others are Theory of Everything and clubstep
* Although the level difficulty is Insane on iOS since 1.7, some devices such as Android still mark it as Harder

For now, what's more noticeable about what is RobTop adding is:
* New portals(they are triangle-shaped, one of the two portals is orange, the other one is blue)
* A new level, Hexagon Force
* New icons
* New kind of spikes and decorations (one of them is hexagon-shaped)

* New kind of blocks, seen on the Hexagon Force sneak peek.
* Editor update. Added slanted/diagonal blocks and a character guidline showing the path of the character<gallery type="slider" orientation="bottom">
