72.92.66.124: Robtop will add more map packs soon

Map Packs are a feature in Geometry Dash. They each consist of three levels of similar difficulty and stars, which can range from Easy to Demon. Completing a full pack will reward from 3 to 10 stars and either 1 or 2 secret coins; Demon packs rewards 2 coins and other packs reward just one. This can also contribute to the unlocking of various achievements. There are currently 54 map packs as of version 2.0.

Trivia
*If you beat a level outside of its map pack, the game will still count it as if it was beaten inside of the map pack.
* Being the first map pack level, "Level Easy" by Cody is the most downloaded custom level in the game.
* The original amount of map packs were 14. Eleven new map macks were added during Update 1.6.
*Update 1.7 introduced fourteen new packs including the Phoenix, Power, Elemental, Fast, Bionic, Shatter, Twisted, Mortal, and Magma packs plus Demon Packs from 10 to 14.
*Fifteen more packs were added during Update 1.8. These include Sapphire, UFO, Amethyst, Ruby, Shiny, Color, Warp, Cyclone, Colossus, Diamond, Paradox, Funky, and Demon Packs from 15 to 17.
* No map packs were added in Update 1.9
*Levels in map packs were for some reason rated only as "Hard", "Harder", or "Demon". This was fixed during Update 1.8 so that difficulties were calculated appropriately by the number of stars.
*The Magma Pack was originally rated as "Demon", although only having levels rated as "Insane". Its rating was, respectively, changed to "Insane" in Update 1.8.
*The creators of map pack levels are still able to modify their map pack levels even after they have been added. This has lead to some newer elements, like the 1.9 sawblades, to appear in the levels.
*Currently one map pack contains a level with custom music, being Dash Pack, with Lightout by Emiliax, which uses "Chaoz Airflow", by ParagonX9. Emiliax was able to update the song due to the feature above.
*The songs "Theory of Everything 2"and "Blast Processing" were not used in any of the 162 total Map Pack levels in Update 1.9.
*As of Update 2.0 there is only one map pack rated "easy", the beginner pack, being the easiest map pack to complete, is also the first map pack, respectively.
*However, there are no levels, out of all 162 level in the map packs, the have the difficulty rating "easy".
Update 1.9 is the ninth major update to Geometry Dash. It was officially released to the public on November 9, 2014. As well as introducing two new levels, Blast Processing and Theory of Everything 2, the Dart game mode (also called the Wave game mode) made its debut here, appearing in both of the aforementioned levels. The custom song function was also introduced, allowing players to use songs from the audio-sharing website Newgrounds in their custom levels.
*Prior to the release of Update 1.8, Topala said in a conversation at Touch Arcade Forums, "I have a lot of ideas for Update 1.9 that could be huge for the game, but more on that after I release 1.8......... muahaha!"
* August 13, 2014: Topala posts his first Update 1.9 preview image, which shows five icons wearing different-colored headphones. This makes way for much anticipation throughout the Geometry Dash community and results in theories involving soundtrack changes within a level and new game modes.
* August 26, 2014: Topala publishes another image depicting 3-D blocks, arousing much excitement among Geometry Dash players.
* August 28, 2014: Topala continues with the idea of 3-D blocks, posting a picture on Facebook about what could be built using them.
* September 6, 2014: Another image is posted through Topala's social media accounts, featuring several different map components that could be used in future Geometry Dash levels. This includes two new icons, gear-like obstacles, and various different unknown types of blocks. The most prominent feature is a new thick blue portal that would likely result in the introduction of a new game mode.
* September 14, 2014: Topala posts another image to social media, hinting the soundtracks for the upcoming levels. It has a blast and processor (which was later confirmed to be Blast Processing by Waterflame) and a book, an infinity symbol, and the number 2 (which in truth hinted to Theory of Everything 2 by both DJ Nate and F-777). The latter was correctly theorized to be a demon level, following similar lines to Update 1.6.
* September 21, 2014: Another image is posted through Facebook and Twitter. It previews a new custom music feature that would allow players to include music from Newgrounds in their custom levels. The image includes ten icons with headphones at the bottom. It is the first picture to indicate that the update was a work in progress. Upon the release of the image, Topala says that a sneak peek video for the next levels would be coming soon.
* September 28, 2014: Topala officially releases the first Update 1.9 sneak peek video, which shows the first 21 seconds of a beta version of Blast Processing. As seen in the video, the new blue portal changes the icon to an arrow-like object with physics similar to those seen in the mobile game, Wave Wave.
* October 10, 2014: Topala releases another sneak peek video featuring the second level, Theory of Everything 2. In this video, a new background and a new design of ship is used. Topala is also playing the game on his PC, indicating that he may have been using the future Steam version.
* October 18, 2014: Topala confirms that the update would be released soon after he had fixed a minor issues in the backup and music systems. He also says he is working on the Steam version, and hints on Update 2.0, stating that he will continue improving the user account system devised in 1.9.
* November 4, 2014: Topala posts that the update is submitted for review and is waiting to be accepted.
* November 9, 2014,: Nearly three months after Update 1.9 was first mentioned, Topala confirms the release of 1.9 and states that it will be released on iOS and Android devices around the same time, and the Steam version would be released as soon as possible.
* November 9, 2014: Update 1.9 is released on the Windows Phone, App Store, and several other mobile devices.
* November 15, 2014: Update 1.9 is released on Amazon devices.
Geometry Dash Lite Introductions
On February 5, 2015, Geometry Dash Lite was updated to version 1.91, which included the following:
*New level "Time Machine"!
*New achievements and rewards!
*Account system.
*Bugfixes and tweaks.

Trivia
*The new arrow-like form, known as the Dart (but previously as a wave), was inspired by the mechanics of the mobile game Wave Wave. It is supposed that the concept was brought to light by a popular Geometry Dash player, TheRealDarnoc, who created a level (also named Wave Wave) mimicking its mechanics using condensed groups of gravity rings and the UFO.
* This is the first update to include a sequel of a main level song.
* This is the second update that includes two new main levels, the first one being Update 1.6.
* Both Update 1.6 and Update 1.9 featured music from both Waterflame and DJ Nate.
** For some reason, this update is also the only one to have three composers instead of the usual two. In this case F-777 did a collaboration with DJ Nate for Theory of Everything 2 (proved in Newgrounds description for Theory Of Everything 2). This also lampshades F-777's song Deadlocked.
** Coincidentally, both Update 1.6 and 1.9, along with 2.0, have at least one Demon level.
* This update included a notably smaller amount of new customizations, even when including the Steam exclusive icons.
* When 1.9 was released, players could get all the coins and reach a lot of stars by merging two accounts into one. This would happen if the player had progress in an account and logged into another in the same device and loaded the progress with the older one running on the background; this would result in an account merge and the progress would sum.
** This update came along with a bug which consisted on the ability of finishing a level without completing it; it plays when it is deleted instead. It consisted on holding the "Play" button, pressing the "X (delete)" button, and pressing "yes" at the same time the play button is unhold. The level will delete itself and it will be possible to finish it as if it were an empty level, except that you get the correspondent stars. This resulted in a permanent ban if abused.
* Blast Processing has the most differences between the official level and the sneak peek, all of which are decoration-related.
* This is the first update that did not include any map packs since their creation.

Dynamic On Track is a custom level featured in the Ruby Pack. Despite its rating of Hard and 4 stars, most players consider it to be exceptionally difficult.

Description
This level has proved to be difficult for many, particularly because of the number of "tricks" found in it. These tricks are not easy to notice and hence require a lot of practice and memorization. The faster speeds later on also give a headache to those who are not used to such faster speeds.

Gameplay
The level starts with normal speed, with coloured blocks with the Light Background color, and slightly more decorated than the standard Back On Track. Next comes double speed, and this part has a lot of tricks in particular, and it is hard to judge the distance at some parts. A double speed ship follows, which is not too difficult. Then the level progresses to triple speed and back into cube. This is slightly easier than the double speed cube, and towards the end of the level the background changes to black and the coloured blocks change to coloured outlines.

72.92.66.124: Galactic system level facts

Custom Levels are unofficial levels created by players via the level editor. Players have the ability to like or dislike other players' levels, rate them in difficulty (Auto, Easy, Normal, Hard, Harder, Insane or Demon), or stars (from one to ten, depending on the difficulty of the level), and comment on them. A copying feature is also available which allows players to save a copy of an online level and edit it later in the level editor. This function is often used by players to create a remake of an existing level, more commonly known as a "v2". Additionally, many players make use of the copy function in "creator contests", where the participants must use a segment of a level (previously uploaded by the contest's host) and build the rest of it. When uploading a level, users have the option to enable the copy function to any player and request a password to be input.

Levels can be found in different ways, for example: users can search for a specific level by its name or ID; they can browse through map packs, or the featured list. They can also access any of a specific creator's uploaded levels by clicking the "info" button on any of the creator's levels and then clicking the "More" button next to their username, or via the "Creators" tab in the leaderboard.

Custom levels rating works the following way:
* 1 star - Auto (auto levels can also be rated "Insane" or sometimes "Hard")
* 2 stars - Easy
* 3 stars - Normal
* 4 - 5 stars - Hard
* 6 - 7 stars - Harder
* 8 - 9 stars - Insane
* 10 stars - Demon

Finding Levels
The Search Screen: If you want to find a specific type of level, then it is recommended that the player goes to the search screen. This is accessed by going to the rightmost button on the main menu screen, then the bottom right button with a magnifying glass that says "Search" in the Create menu. By using very specific search options and filters, finding the type of level you want to play is a breeze. More search filters were added in 2.0, making finding levels even easier.

There are many different search options and features, such as:
* Difficulty rating: Do you want to play the hardest demons or just have a nice and easy journey?
* Level length: Levels can have a length of Tiny, Short, Medium, Long, and Extra-long. Better levels usually are Medium or Long, although sometimes popular creators host "creator contests" in which they create a short beginning of a level and see who can finish it the best.
* Star value: Is the star reward important, or do you just like to play for fun?
* Quick search options: Do you want to follow the trending levels, the most downloaded levels or the most liked ones? Or do you just want to play some of the levels that have recently come out? The magic option even brings up long, interesting new levels!
* Extra filters: If you tap on the "plus" below the "x" in the top right hand corner, it will bring up a few more search filters, such as what song is in the level and if you have completed it or not.
* Saved levels: Although this option is not in the search menu, it is indirectly a search option since it helps find levels easily. Go to this button in the Create menu to view a list of all the online levels you have played in Geometry Dash, sorted so that the custom levels that you most recently played show up first in the list.

Other Options: There are other ways to search for levels if you do not want to use the search screen. Using these almost always brings up more popular levels that are probably featured.

*Map Packs: Map packs are sets of maps that when completed give you stars and one or two secret coins. All of the levels in these packs are featured since there are achievements for beating them.
*Creators' Levels: If you go to the Leaderboards section in the Create menu, then click the "Creators" tab, a list of the top 100 creators will appear. If you click on these creators, a list of their levels will appear.
*My Levels: When creating levels in the Level Editor, when you exit to the list of all your levels, you may notice a small button in the bottom left corner. This shows you all the levels you have published in a list similar to that of the results of searching for levels.
* Featured levels: Selected by clicking a box in the Extra Filters section of the search screen or by the big button with the star on it in the bottom left corner of the Create menu, featured levels are levels featured for the game. Their difficulties vary just like less popular levels, although featured levels tend to be hard and up. When you get to the featured levels screen you get to see lots of featured levels made by other people (who are usually also popular on YouTube as people can see their levels more easily). These levels have to, just like Demon levels, be given stars and feature status by Robert Topala himself. In order for a level to become featured, the level must be of high quality, have detailed effects and decorations, and/or must have 5000+ downloads.

Playing Levels
Once you have searched for a type of level, a list of levels with the search option(s) you chose will appear, sometimes no levels, sometimes a few, sometimes thousands. You can scroll through the list of levels until you find what you want to play. Tap the blue "Get It" (or green "View" if you've already downloaded it) button to open up a menu based on just that level. Then tap the big green button in the middle of the screen that appears with a yellow play arrow to play the level. After you play it, you can rate its difficulty, star value, and like or dislike the level using the buttons on the right side of the menu. There is also a button that allows you to comment on the level. If you put a description on your level, this is where it will appear, as well as a button that allows people to play your other levels. Some levels have custom music from Newgrounds which you may have to download using the blue button in the bottom rectangle, although it is possible to play without any music. The only differences between normal levels and custom levels are that custom levels award slightly less stars than normal levels and no coins.

Trivia
*There are more than 11 million custom levels on the server.
**However, the major part of them are just some random stuff and have Tiny or Short length and N/A difficulty. This had lead to people to criticize RobTop for not removing useless levels. Most of them consist on getting 100 likes to unlock the corresponding icon, random, improper levels with secret ways, levels for popular players to play (they are named after the players) and owners begging people to rate them demon.
**Also, some ID's lead to deleted levels and do not show any results.

*You may notice that when clicking multiple difficulties in the search menu, then click search and levels of all those difficulties will appear. However clicking Demon, N/A, or Auto, cancels out all other difficulties.
*When rating another person's level, if it already has a difficulty and a star value, the star value rating menu disappears. However, the difficulty rating menu remains.
** Since Update 1.92, you cannot rate the difficulty of levels that already have star values.
*** RobTop has the ability to downgrade the rating of a Demon level if a secret way is discovered or if the level is updated by the creator to be of very little or no difficulty (which is the case of "Auto Demons", where the level is updated to be of Auto difficulty).
*RobTop has removed or decreased the star value and difficulty of a vast amount of Demon levels due to secret ways or hidden paths and possibly being very easy. Examples can be: 7 Back on Track, Cosmic Dreamer, Galactic System and Hex Force
*If a level is beaten before it gets a star rating, you will not acquire the stars until you check the level afterwards its rating.
*Some levels, such as Auto Electrodynamix display a "Tiny" level length when they are actually much longer.
*The most downloaded level is Level Easy by Cody, with over 11.5 million downloads and 1.2 million likes, and it is the only level with over 1 million likes and over 10 million downloads.
*The very first level uploaded to the server has an ID of 128.
*There is a bug where if you play and delete a level at the same time, (Possible only on Mobile) you can play an empty level that still gives you the stars and/or demon from completing the level normally.
** This will result in a ban if abused.
*Most auto levels that are featured appear as Insane difficulty, however with just one star.
*The level Galactic System was recently change from demon to harder due to the fact half of the level was auto
Deadlocked is the twentieth and last official level of Geometry Dash. As of Update 2.0, it is one of three official levels that are rated Demon. It can be unlocked upon collecting 30 secret coins.

Description
Deadlocked shows a variety of new map components. Most notable are the green jump rings which reverse the character's gravity and add momentum. This is the equivalent of hitting the blue and yellow jump ring at the same time or hitting a yellow ring in a blue or yellow gravity portal. It also showcased the teleportation portals, in which you enter a blue teleportation portal, and exit through its corresponding orange teleportation portal. The colour of the teleportation portals assume a Portal reference. There are also moving blocks, which were introduced in the previous level. The most attractive part of the level is at the second UFO sequence, when monsters appear, shooting lasers, which is similar to the laser parts in the popular mobile game Jetpack Joyride.
Secret Coins
*The first secret coin is unique compared to others, as it requires a key before it can be acquired. In the first ship sequence, a key is placed high up above the moving squares. Once successfully retrieved, it opens an area in the fourth cube sequence which allows the player to grab the coin. Failure to retrieve the key will keep this passage blocked and the player will be forced to take the alternate route situated below it.
*The second secret coin appears during the second Robot sequence. There will be a two-block wide pillar sticking out from the ground. Instead of flying to the top of the pillar, you must drop down and jump shortly after to collect the coin. To return to the normal path, you must jump on top of a disappearing block. This is considered slightly easier than the normal path.
*The final secret coin appears during the second UFO sequence, where monsters are shooting lasers at the player. Before the first laser is fired, try to get close to the top. There will be a saw blade, tap twice, wait a second and tap again, the coin will be acquired. Try to get down quickly as there will be another laser fired shortly after.

Trivia
*This is the first official level to award 15 stars upon completion.
*Deadlocked was the fourth level to have a slow portal. the first was Hexagon Force, the second was Theory of Everything 2, and the third was Geometrical Dominator.
*The platforms in the first cube light up whenever the player contacts it, activated by touch-triggered Pulse triggers.
*Deadlocked is the second level to feature a triple speed portal. The first was Electrodynamix.
**It is also the first level to have multiple triple speed portals.
*Deadlocked has the earliest form change, changing to a mini dart within the first seconds of the level.
**It also has the shortest segment of a certain form, with the first mini dart segment only lasting around 0.75 seconds long.
*This is the second level that does not have a coin in its ship sequence after Electrodynamix.
**However, the key to access the first coin is collected in a ship sequence.
*This level also makes an interesting use of moving objects and monsters to create "enemies" in the second UFO part. The monsters appear to follow the player, shooting "lasers" from their mouths that the player must avoid. This is similar to the lasers in the game Jetpack Joyride.
*The practice mode achievement, "Living Open", is the opposite of "Deadlocked".
* It takes 1:39 to complete this level.
* Deadlocked is the second level where you can transform in every currently available form, the first one being Geometrical Dominator.
*This is the first demon level to have a dual portal.
*In the sneak peek a platform just before the three green rings is only 1 block long, then it was changed to 2 blocks.
*This is the first demon level to have a song that is not composed by DJ Nate

Errors
Decorational Errors
*When you crash at the last green orb at the second cube sequence, you can see that the top areas to the left and right are unfilled.
*In the last ball sequence, single "orbs" can be seen at the top and bottom of the level. But in the middle of the ball sequence at the top, two of those "orbs" can be seen overlapping each other. This may or may not be intended.
**One of the orbs was also replaced with a pad, although this was meant to kill the player, and hence the player must jump over it.

Structural Errors
*In the first cube segment you can go on the third antigravity jump ring (the first right after the mini dart) and continue normally.
* If you notice, the second orange teleportation portal has a yellow jump pad peeking on the left of it. This is use to initiate a jump to reach the next orb.
* At 8%, you can jump over a gravity pad instead of hitting it and continue the level by hitting the gravity ring.
* At 9%, if timed correctly, after going through the teleport portal, it is possible to hit the yellow jump pad before touching the gravity portal, therefore causing a crash.
*After going through the second teleportation portal at around 9%, the jump ring marked with an "X" can be hit with precise timing and not make the player crash.
**If the player goes through the second teleportation portal late, then they will be forced to hit this jump ring and doing this will always result in a crash.
* Just before the second Dart segment, if you hit the last green ring before the Dart portal a bit late and hold your jump key, you might be able to play the sequence at a normal speed than a triple speed and the music will be out of sync. A similar error is found in Theory of Everything 2, however, in Theory of Everything 2, the erroneous path was detrimental, whereas this error is beneficial.
** It is also possible to get a similar error in Hexagon Force, though it is quite hard to do so. Once again, this error is detrimental.
** Also, if timed correctly, hitting the second last green orb in the first cube part and missing the last green orb allows the player to slide up an upper slope in antigravity in cube form and go through the dart segment, but you will crash against the lower slope when you reach the antigravity portal, as seen here. However, if you make a series of perfectly timed jumps, you may be able to continue the dart segment as a cube and then continue the level normally.

* It is possible to collect the first coin without the key. This can be done by going slightly under the key, so close to it that the path with the coin will be accessible. This happens because the key has a smaller hitbox than other touch triggered objects, so the move or toggle object, whichever one is there, is triggered without actually getting the key, as shown here.

* During the mini ball segment, at 37%, you are able to skip a teleport portal and a green ring if timed right.
* At the first ball segment, it is possible to slip under the ball portal and remain as a mini ship.
** If you survive through the ball sequence, it is also possible to go through the UFO sequence as a mini ship too.
* At the first robot segment, you can skip a gravity portal and a teleportation portal by holding longer.
* During the first mini cube sequence, if you hold down instead of hitting the last gravity ring before the teleportation portal, you will fall towards the orange teleportation portal, hit a jump pad hidden in the portal, and continue as normal.
* At the first teleport portal set after the first secret coin location, it is possible to hit the first gravity ring and survive by landing on the edge of the pillar, despite the pillar having spikes on it.
* Around the second secret coin area, RobTop has left an "alternative route". After falling down from the pillar into the secret area as normal, instead of making a small jump to reach the coin, make a large jump, but don't touch the green orb. If timed correctly, you will realize that you can enter a overhanging pillar (with fire on both sides), as it is hollow. You can carefully jump off this pillar and continue normally, although this won't do anything.
**It is also possible to get the 2nd coin while tapping on the green jump ring. However, this will kill you if you collect the coin.
**Sometimes, making a very small jump before hitting the green orb will cause the player to propel in a certain direction to obtain the coin but land safely and not die.
*Jumping too late into the third teleportation portal in the level can make the player crash.

*Sometimes, during the first ball segment, hitting the first orb too late will cause the player to go too high up, activating the first monster trap (on the orange blocks), but not killing the player. They will then be forced to hit another orb, which will immediately cause the player to crash by throwing them into the second monster trap.

* During the first ball segment, if you hit the first blue orb late, you will skip the move triggers and the platform will not appear. However, this will result in a crash.

*After the 2nd coin, you can skip the green and blue orb.
*At 1%, if you hit the second gravity orb late, you can skip the yellow jump pad, jump up from the very edge of the platform and continue safely. However, this will require precise timing.
*At 9%, if you hit the green jump ring early, it is possible to miss the yellow jump pad and crash.
*Exactly at the second ball segment, it is possible to flip gravity right before the yellow jump pad. Flip gravity again and you can continue safely.
*This is the second level to have a F-777 song after Theory of Everything 2

*After the 2nd coin, you can skip the green and blue orb.
