Update 1.9 is the ninth major update to Geometry Dash. It was released to iOS, Android, and some other mobile devices on November 9, 2014. This update is considered to be the largest and most effective update in the game's history. In this update, two main levels, Blast Processing and Theory of Everything 2, were added to the game.
Previews
Prior to the release of Update 1.8, Topala said in a conversation at Touch Arcade Forums:

<blockquote>"I have a lot of ideas for update 1.9 that could be huge for the game, but more on that after I release 1.8... muahaha"
</blockquote>

On August 13, 2014, Topala posted his first Update 1.9 preview image, which shows five icons wearing different-colored headphones. This made way for much anticipation throughout the Geometry Dash community, resulting in theories involving soundtrack changes within a level and new game modes.

On August 26, 2014, Topala created another image depicting three-dimensional blocks, arousing much excitement among Geometry Dash players. He continued with the idea on August 28, posting a picture on Facebook about what could be built using the blocks.

On September 6, 2014, another image was posted through Topala's social media accounts featuring several different new map components that would be used in future levels of Geometry Dash. This included two new icons, gear-like obstacles, and various different unknown types of blocks. The most prominent feature was a new thick blue portal that would likely result in another game mode being introduced. It was also released to the public that Topala would release the game to Steam, a popular internet-based social media platform.

On September 14, 2014, Topala posted yet another image onto his social media accounts. It has a blast and processor for Blast Processing by Waterflame and a book, an infinity symbol, and a "2" for Theory of Everything 2 by DJ Nate, with the latter likely to be the demon level, following similar lines to Update 1.6.

On September 21, 2014, another image was posted through Facebook and Twitter. This image introduced a new custom music feature that would allow players to include music from Newgrounds in their custom levels. The image includes ten icons with headphones at the bottom. It was the first picture to indicate that the update was a work in progress. Upon the release of the image, Topala said that a sneak peek video for the next levels would be coming soon.

On September 28, 2014, Topala officially released the first Update 1.9 sneak peek video, which showed the first 21 seconds of Blast Processing. As seen in the video, the new blue portal changed the icon to an arrow-like object with physics similar to those seen in the mobile game Wave Wave.

On October 10, 2014, he released another sneak peek video featuring the second level, Theory of Everything 2. In this video, a new background and a new design of ship was used. Topala was also playing the game on his computer, indicating that he may have been using the future Steam version.

On October 18, 2014, Topala confirmed that the update would be released soon after he had fixed a minor issues in the backup and music systems. He also said he was working on the Steam version, and hinted on Update 2.0, stating that he will continue improving the user account system devised in 1.9.

On November 4, 2014, Topala posted that the update was submitted for review and was waiting to be accepted.

On November 9, 2014, almost three months after Update 1.9 was first mentioned, Topala confirmed the release of 1.9 and stated that it would release to iOS and Android devices around the same time, and the Steam version would be released as soon as possible.

On November 13, 2014, Update 1.9 was released to the Windows Phone App Store.

On November 14, 2014, Update 1.91 was released to all devices. This was a minor update that fixed a few bugs.

On November 15, 2014 update 1.9 was released on Amazon devices.

On January 18, 2015 update 1.92 was released on Google Play. This included some new options and fixed few Custom Song bugs.

Introductions
* New level "Blast Processing"
* New level "Theory of Everything 2"
* New "Wave" Game mode
* New music system. Build and share levels using custom music from Newgrounds
* Backup system! Store and sync your progress between devices and platforms
* User account system. (Unique user names and backup, will include more in update 2.0)
* New achievements, colors and icons.
* Lots of new details and level objects.
* Everyplay support for Android.
* Customize the color of objects in the level editor (including 4 custom color channels).
* Color coding in editor to make different objects more clear.
* New search options.
* Improved server performance for downloading levels.
* Copy/paste support in editor. (not duplicate, paste object anywhere in the level).
* Level editor object limit increased from 12,000 to 15,000 (later to 20000).
* Lots of bug fixes and improvements.
* The 99% achievement got nerfed to dying between 95% and 99%, making it possible to get the achievement in all main levels (including Lite ones), not just Electrodynamix.
* A lot of difficulties for levels have been changed: Back on Track now is Easy, Polargeist and Dry Out now are Normal, Base After Base and Can't Let Go now are Hard and Jumper, Time Machine and Cycles are now Harder.
* A new secret achievement was added (Master Detective!)
* Steam users can use their exclusive icons in mobile version.
* Group features to Level Editor.

Trivia
* The new arrow-like form, known as the Wave, was inspired by the mechanics of the mobile game Wave Wave. It is supposed the concept was brought to light by a popular Geometry Dash player, Darnoc, who created a level (also named Wave Wave), mimicking its mechanics using condensed groups of gravity rings and the UFO.
* This is the first update to include a sequel of a main level song: Theory of Everything 2
* This is the second update that includes two new main levels. (1.6 with Electroman Adventures and Clubstep, and now 1.9 with Blast Processing and Theory of Everything 2)
* Both Update 1.6 and Update 1.9 featured music from both Waterflame and DJ Nate.
* Some people thought that Eternity would be Level 18, but that was later proven false when the Theory of Everything 2 preview came out.
* Many users thought that Update 1.9 would be released on Halloween, but the update ended up being released 9 days later.
The Icon Kit is a feature for cosmetically modifying the player's form of their 'icon' in Geometry Dash. Although there is no physical difference to gameplay, the player can select from a variety of visually appealing options, including icons for the cube, ship, ball and UFO all with their own unique icons. Colours can also be applied to make unique creations consisting of a primary and secondary color. However, the two chosen colours remain consistent between all forms, disallowing multiple color schemes.

Trivia
*Icons that are awarded for easy achievements, like 'Stereo Madness!', are lacking in detail and aren't very intricate. However, very challenging achievements like 'MORE SHINEY!!!' award very detailed icons with intricate patterns. Players can use these icons to show off their accomplishments.
* The primary color will also be used in the progress bar if turned on.(The default setting is 'off', so it has to be turned to 'on' if the Player wants.)
* There are a total of 46 cube icons, 24 colors, 18 ship icons, 10 ball icons, 10 UFO icons, and 1 wave icon.
*Choosing black as the primary color will change what is normally the black outline into the secondary color. Several other changes occur which mostly applies the secondary color to map components in place of the black.
*Update 1.7 added a special option unlocked by completing 10 map packs, which is a rainbow trail emitted behind the player when contact with jump pads, jump rings, gravity portals, or ship, UFO mode. Contact with size portals, mirror portals, speed portals, and ball portals do not show the rainbow trail.
* Update 1.7 had a sneak peek picture that featured a ball that never came to game.
*Cycles and xStep are the only levels where you can get icons both in Normal Mode and Practice Mode.
* Clubstep is the only level where you can get a UFO in Practice mode and a Secondary Black Color in Normal Mode.
* The icon unlocked by completing Hexagon Force in Normal Mode is a reference of a Creeper, a popularized enemy creature from the game Minecraft.
* Update 1.8 added secrets to the game. Unlocking the second secret will reveal how to get 2 icons and 1 color.(The achievements are 'Rampage!', 'Dominating!', 'Godlike!')

* Update 1.9 added a new secret to the game. Upon collecting it, the player will be rewarded with secret coin and new color with achievement "Master Detective". See the Achievements page to find out how to earn it.
* The icons from Geometry Dash are used from the Oxygene 1. The icons are 'Stereo Madness!' and 'Dry Out!' and More.
*The UFO unlocked for completing 30 map packs is based off Bowser's ship in Super Mario World.
* The Steam exclusive icon for beating 3 main levels is an obvious reference to Valve's Portal-series Companion Cube.
** The other Steam icon for beating Clubstep (SteamStep!) has special glasses that look exactly like the official Steam logo. Gallery
Theory of Everything 2, sometimes known as ToE 2, is the eighteenth official level in Geometry Dash and also the second official Demon-rated level, following Clubstep.

Preview
On October 10, 2014, Robert Topala uploaded a second sneak peek, confirming the existence of the level Theory of Everything 2. This disproved the speculations that the second level in the update would be Eternity by DJVI. Its appearance will mark the first "v2" soundtrack in Geometry Dash. The preview revealed a new background, new decorations, as well as the new 1500 star ship.

Topala played the sneak peek using his computer, showing a cursor, indicating at the release of the Steam version of the game.

Secret Coin Location
* The first secret coin is located at the first mini ship sequence. After you go through an anti-gravity portal, immediately raise the ship to get the secret coin.
* The second secret coin is located at the second wave sequence. After you maneuver through the diagonal hallway, try to make your wave form go down through a small entrance to get the secret coin. It is one of the hardest coins to get, as it also requires precision and control to escpe the wave after collecting the coin.
* The third secret coin is hidden above. After you exit the reversed gravity ship section (the one after the slowed cube sequence), jump on the two jump rings, even the one marked with an "X". You'll land on a platform, perform a jump, collect the coin, and exit safely before you enter the last UFO sequence. This sounds easy, but is hard without practice, since the timing is critical.

Trivia
* There is an error in this level. You can use the yellow ring that has X in it to die in side of a wall.
* There is another error. Only hit the first yellow pad, then look at the first upside down wall. It appears to be broken.
* During the slow ship section at about 39%, there's a design error where one of the shaded blocks is pushed to the left slightly.
*In Theory of Everything, it used all of the portals when its update was released. However, in Theory of Everything 2, the level did not contain any mirror and dual portals.
* The last part near the end of the level was a monster who looks familiar to the Update 2.0 monsters.
* There is another error. You can actually skip the third gravity portal in small ship mode at the beginning going under it.
Update 1.9 is the ninth major update to Geometry Dash. It was released to iOS, Android, and other mobile devices on November 9, 2014. The update is considered to be one of the most effective and biggest in the game's history. The level Blast Processing was released along with Theory of Everything 2.

The update is still waiting for verification from Amazon and Microsoft, and it will come out very soon.

Previews
Prior to the release of the 1.8 update, Topala said in a conversation at Touch Arcade Forums:

<blockquote>"I have a lot of ideas for update 1.9 that could be huge for the game, but more on that after I release 1.8... muahaha"
</blockquote>

Topala posted his first sneak preview image on August 13, 2014, showing five icons wearing different-colored headphones. This made way for much anticipation through the Geometry Dash community, resulting in theories involving soundtrack changes within a level and new game modes.

On September 14, 2014, Topala released an image on Facebook. It has a blast and processor for Blast Processing by Waterflame and a book, an infinity symbol, and a "2" for Theory of Everything 2 by DJ Nate, with the later likely to be the demon level, following similar lines to Update 1.6.

On September 21, 2014, another image was posted through Facebook and Twitter for the new "Custom Music" feature that will allow players to include music from Newgrounds in their custom levels. The image includes 10 icons with headphones at the bottom. It was the first picture to indicate that the update was work in progress. Upon the release of the image, Topala said that a sneak peek video for the next levels would be coming soon.

On September 28, 2014, Topala officially released the sneak peek video. The new, blue portal changed the icon to an arrow-like object similar to Wave Wave. It featured the level Blast Processing.

On October 10, 2014, he released another sneak peek video featuring the second level, Theory of Everything 2. Upon closer look, the level had a gradient background and a new design of ship was used. Topala was also playing the game on his computer, indicating that he may have been using the future Steam version.

On October 18, 2014, Topala confirmed that the update would be released soon after he had fixed a minor issues in the backup and music systems. He also said he was working on the Steam version, and hinted on the Update 2.0, stating that he will continue improving the user account system devised in 1.9.

On November 4, 2014, Topala posted that the update was submitted for review and was waiting to be accepted.

On November 9, 2014, Topala confirmed the release of 1.9 and stated that it would release to iOS and Android devices around the same time, and the Steam version would be released as soon as possible.

Trivia
* The new arrow-like form, known as the Wave, was inspired by the mechanics of the mobile game Wave Wave. It is supposed the concept was brought to light by a popular player, Darnoc, who created a level (also named Wave Wave), mimicking its mechanics using condensed groups of gravity rings with the UFO.
* This is the first update that included a second version of a main level song: Theory of Everything 2
* This is the second update that includes two new main levels. (1.6 with Electroman Adventures and Clubstep, and now 1.9 with Blast Processing and Theory of Everything 2)
* Both updates also featured a background music track from both Waterflame and DJ Nate.
* Some people thought that Eternity would be the second level after Blast Processing, but that was later proven false when the Theory of everything 2 preview came out.
* Many users thought that the update would be released on Halloween, but their predictions were later revealed to be incorrect.

The Icon Kit is a feature for cosmetically modifying the player's form of their 'icon' in Geometry Dash. Although there is no physical difference to gameplay, the player can select from a variety of visually appealing options, including icons for the cube, ship, ball and UFO all with their own unique icons. Colours can also be applied to make unique creations consisting of a primary and secondary colour. However, the two chosen colours remain consistent between all forms, disallowing multiple colour schemes.

By completing Achievements, more colours and icons can be obtained.
Trivia
*The icons primary color will also be used in the progress bar if turned on.
* There are a total of 42 cube icons, 16 ship icons, 8 ball icons 8 UFO icons. At the time the number of triangle icons is unknown.
*Choosing black as the primary colour will change what is normally the black outline into the secondary colour. Several other changes occur which mostly applies the secondary colour to map components in place of the black.
*Update 1.7 added a special option unlocked by completing 10 map packs, which is a rainbow trail emitted behind the player.
* Update 1.7 had a sneak peek picture that featured a ball that never came to game. But, that ball had 35 secret coin ball in it and 70 secret coin ball is nearly the same, so the ball nearly came to game.
*Cycles and xStep are the only levels where you can get icons both in Normal Mode and Practice Mode.
* The icon unlocked by completing Hexagon Force in Normal Mode is a reference of a Creeper, a popularised enemy creature from the game Minecraft.
* Update 1.8 added secrets to the game. Unlocking the second secret will reveal how to get 2 icons.

Jumper is the seventh level in Geometry Dash. It is the second level rated insane. Jumper is also the last level in Geometry Dash Lite. It is also the regarded as the hardest level in the lite version.

Description
Jumper puts together many successive slides and jumps with a fast pace during its cube sequences, its name possibly in reference. Only moments after starting, antigravity initiates for a small section, previewing the frequent shifts in gravity that happen constantly in later levels. After another slippery cube section, the scene changes into an introductory ship sequence that applies antigravity during its second and fourth quarters. This turns into another cube sequence that moves into a tight passage with numerous gravity shifts, coming out again and once more with a ship sequence of scattered single-spiked blocks. The final cube sequence persists with one last switch to antigravity, ending the level that way.

Trivia
*Many players think as Jumper has soundtrack that is not edited, but it's not true, because RobTop have clipped last 12 seconds from the end.
*This level uses the Waterflame's "Jumper" a theme also used in many other video games like Castle Crashers.
**It also has the oldest soundtrack in the game, from 2005 (almost ten years older than the game itself).
**Prior to 1.8, Jumper was not in Geometry Dash Lite.
*Despite the very hard coin at the first ship sequence, the other ones are very easy to find and to get.
* There are 2 blocks In secret coin areas that should not be in the levels yet.

Base After Base is the fifth level in both Geometry Dash and Geometry Dash Lite. Along with Dry Out and Blast Processing, its difficulty is rated harder.

Description
Base After Base continues with around the same difficulty as Dry Out, featuring increasingly harder jumping patterns and an antigravity section. The second half of the first cube sequence has high jumps and is trickier to judge, also with hazardous jump pads before moving to the ship sequence. This is more "hall-based" than those of previous levels, with a smaller passage and spikes on alternating sides. Next the cube takes a moment to flip upwards with antigravity, although this sequence is somewhat easier to predict than the one in Dry Out. Returning to normal gravity turns towards a final few jumps leading to completion.

Secret Coin Location
* The first one is found after the first time the background turns red. After you jump on the ring, you will slide down and a large flat form will block you. Instead of jumping over, slide down the hole and then you will get the coin and slide down the jump pad and return to the normal path.
* The second one is located after the background turns completely black. After jumping many flat-forms, the next two flat-forms, there is a spike and a space which you will avoid. Instead of avoiding it, try to jump over the spike and through the space and there will be an antigravity portal and the coin that you will get and an antigravity jump pad to help you get back to the normal path.
* Last one is located after black background turns purple and you fly whit ship. When the tunnel starts, after three first spikes you must lift your ship up and wait until you reach path to coin. Hold the ship up until you have collected the coin and then go down into normal path.
Trivia
* The achievement unlocked by completing the level in Practice Mode may refer to the popular catchphrase “All Your Base Are Belong to Us” from the Game Zero Wing.

Map Packs are a feature in Geometry Dash. Featured levels chosen by Robert Topala have the potential to be added "officially" as map packs. They each consist of three levels of similar difficulty, which can range from easy to Demon, although this does not specifically reflect the levels' rating themselves, ranging from hard to Demon. Completing a full pack will reward from 3 to 10 stars and either 1 or 2 secret coins. This can also contribute to the unlocking of various achievements. There are currently 54 map packs.

Trivia
*When Map Packs were added there were only 25 Packs.
*Update 1.7 introduced fourteen new packs including the Phoenix, Power, Elemental, Fast, Bionic, Shatter, Twisted, Mortal and Magma packs plus Demon Packs 10-14.
*Fifteen more packs where added during Update 1.8.
*The Magma Pack was originally rated as Demon, although only having levels rated as harder. Its rating was changed to Insane, in Update 1.8.
* Levels in map packs are only rated as either hard, harder, or Demon
* Level difficulty has now been updated. Insane map packs now have their levels rated insane and some of the levels in the first few packs are rated normal and 2 stars
On October 10, 2014, Robert Topala uploaded a second sneak peek, confirming the existence of Theory of Everything 2. It also disproved that the second level in the update would be Eternity. Its appearance will mark the first "v2" soundtrack in Geometry Dash. Topala played the sneak peek using his computer, showing a computer cursor, hinting at a possible release for the PC.
Description
Theory of Everything 2 will introduce a new gradient pattern background, and also includes the three-dimensional blocks shown in earlier preview images. The level starts off with several sets of jump rings. The level also shows blocks them are same but them have different player color. That means as next update could have new "Edit object" for every block that allows to change that block's color.

Also, the level officially introduces laser like decorations .

The Icon Kit is a feature for cosmetically modifying the player's form in Geometry Dash.

Theory of Everything is the twelfth official level of Geometry Dash. It is the seventh insane level added on Update 1.5.

Description
Theory of Everything contains blue gravity rings, pink and yellow jump rings, all three colours of jump pads, rocket portals, ball portals, size portals, gravity portals, and mirror portals. The obstacles are challenging and the orange UFO portals are introduced.

Trivia
*Along with Electroman Adventures, Theory of Everything has every portal (before 1.7).
* This level, Time Machine, Dry Out, Can't Let Go, and Blast Processing are the only levels where you can hear speech in the background music.
*Although Theory of Everything, Electrodynamix, and Hexagon Force have the same difficulty rating and reward the same number of stars upon completion, Electrodynamix is harder compared to the other two.
*A secret passage can be found in this level (it is found after the second UFO sequence... there are two ways to access it).
*Strangely, the icon this level gives you after completion resembles the obstacles from the first ship sequence in Clutterfunk.
* Update 1.90 contains Theory of Everything 2, which is first level that is version 2 of some other RobTop's level. TOE 2 is also hinted to be demon, which is like in NepTune's levels (if original is insane, v2 is demon).

Description
Time Machine introduces the mirror portal, while steadily increasing in difficulty from previous levels, notably including a much higher amount of triple spikes. The first sequence involves a few short antigravity sections and some basic jumping patterns before the screen flips leading into a ship sequence. It is partly hall-based travelling through spike-littered passages, emerging as the cube with some more jumping until the screen flips again. After a short time, another antigravity section is met, ending by dropping the cube leading up to another mirror portal, which can potentially detract the focus needed to successfully judge the oncoming jump correctly. The following sections consist of reversed then normal direction segments, then in that order again with antigravity. The transitions between sections can be particularly tricky, each with slightly differing times before needing to jump in order to avoid collisions. Triple spikes also occur quite frequently. The concluding sequence is another ship sequence through a jagged passage, flipping gravity just before reaching the end of the level.

Trivia
* At the second-last "Anti-Gravity" Portal, speech can be heard saying "This is a Time Machine."

*Holding jump from the start will allow you to jump on the hanging spike wall. Still hoding jump will allow you to jump off and continue as normal.
It is also the fifth stage marked with insane difficulty.

Description
xStep introduces blue pads and blue rings/circles on the regular path. The icon assumes three different forms through the level— the cube, rocket, and gravity ball. It is similar to Cycles in difficulty and features multiple tight rocket scenes. xStep is also the level that uses the greatest number of blue pads out of any level in the game, present throughout almost the entire second ship scene.

Trivia
*xStep is one of the two levels to grant block icons for both Practice and Normal, the other one is Cycles.
*xStep is the only level name to begin with a lowercase letter.
*There is an error in xStep. It's under the first secret coin.
* The spikes In xStep make a brief cameo in Stereo Madness where they are blocking the third coin, making it very hard to obtain.
*xStep marks the gradual introduction of many new map components including blocks, pits and cosmetics.
Notes
*The size portal affects individual forms in different ways. The cube loses jumping height but can perform successive jumps quicker. The UFO also loses jumping height and takes less time to begin descending, However, what is applicable to all forms is the same constant speed which is unchanging from the enlarged state, but gives the impression that while shrunken, the icons move quicker as a result of looking small.

*The slow speed portal was introduced in Hexagon Force following the initially released speed portals.

*The copy from a copy portal inverts the chosen colour scheme. While a copy is existent, a collision will terminate the original, and vice versa, with each icon fully able to interact with its surroundings.

*When the icon enters a manipulation portal, the screen often flashes in an unusual manner. The gravity pads also act in the same way.

The following portals change the form of the player:
Notes
*Players still have the ability to use jump circles as all three forms.
*Pink, red, orange and blue portals will shrink the playing area to only a fixed rectangular area. This feature does not allow players to travel unlimited distances with the rocket, UFO, or ball.

Trivia
*Gravity and mirror is the only option not available to begin a custom level. But gravity can still be changed from start position.
*The secret area in Stereo Madness is currently the only level in which there is a form portal in a secret coin path.
Time Machine is the eighth level in Geometry dash. It is the third level rated insane.

The concluding sequence is another ship sequence through a jagged passage, flipping gravity before reaching the end of the When you jump over the first obstacle and keep jumping, you can jump over the spike wall and continue. This can take several attempts, however in time machine it is not used to get any coin.it can also be jumped if you keep your finger/mouse when you die.

What is in the level
The level is Based around Big jumps. It also contains Tight areas. There is Also many Mirrored Parts of this level.

*Magma Pack is rated as Demon, although its levels are rated as harder.
Electrodynamix is the fifteenth level in Geometry Dash. It was added in Update 1.7 on May 21, 2014. It is rated insane. New blocks and the speed portals were added to this update.

Information
The level consists of three speeds. The player starts off at normal speed, as the player progresses, the speed increases, making it harder for the player to comprehend what will happen next.

Completion
When completed in normal mode, the player will get the achievement "Electrodynamix!" along with a new icon. When completed in practice mode, the player will get the achievement "Electromaniac" along with primary color gray.

Trivia
* There are more than 18000 levels published with its music.
* The name "Electrodynamix" is based on "Electrodynamics".
* It is the first level without a coin in a rocket segment of the level.
* Electrodynamix is the only level where you can get "So close" achievement.
