Template:Infobox Level Abyss of Darkness (commonly abbreviated to AoD) is an unverified 2.1 Extreme Demon mega-collaboration hosted by Exen, who openly hack-verified the level on October 27, 2018. Two years after its release on July 17, 2020, a player known as Dils Thik attempted to verify the level. He currently has the world record with 95%, which he achieved on March 18, 2021. If verified/rated, the level will place at the #1 spot on the Official Geometry Dash Demonlist.

Gameplay

  • 0-9% (SiesTer + Exen) - The level starts off with a few difficult jumps in the mini-cube game mode, and three UFO jumps following them. Then, the player becomes a ship, and they must straight fly through some fairly tight spaces, as well as teleporting to the top of the screen a single time. Afterwards, the game mode switches to a spider, and the player must perform two simple clicks to proceed into a brief straight fly and a brief wave spam. Next is a somewhat difficult ball segment with a bit of orb timing. Following the ball, the player needs to complete a moderately long straight fly and with a very difficult wave section following. The full part ends with a difficult cube jump.
  • 9-20% (MegaSkill + Xepocopia) - The next part begins with a bit of automatic gameplay, and then the player must jump into a ball portal, which leads the player over a big spike. After this, the player needs to execute some precise hits to pass through a short wave section. Then, the game mode switches to a dual, with a mini-ball on top and a mini-wave on the bottom. This segment contains two very narrow hits. Next, the player converts into a spider, and they must traverse through some moderately tight timings. Directly afterwards, the game mode switches to a UFO and the section contains a red orb timing and a black orb timing. Following this, the player becomes a robot. This robot segment contains three hits, two being jumps and one being a blue orb timing. The blue orb timing leads into a downward-sloped ship which leads into another extremely precise wave area. At the end of this part, the player becomes a double-speed big-sized wave and they must spam through a fairly tight space.
  • 20-32% (Masterman) - After the abrupt wave spam, the next part instantly begins with a pink orb that leads into an excessively difficult wave click. Afterwards, the player must hit a somewhat memory-based series of orbs that leads into some automatic gameplay. Following this, the player must perform a brief but difficult straight fly in the ship game mode. After the straight fly, the player must hit a green orb that leads into another straight fly. Then, the player becomes a cube, and they must hit a pink orb, a yellow orb, two pink orbs, and a dash orb that leads into a forces the player into an anti-gravity portal and a triple-speed portal. After the player hits a black orb, the game mode switches into a normal-speed ball, and the following segment contains a few timings that aren't too difficult, and a series of orbs. The full part ends with a memory-based cube section.
  • 32-43% (Exen + DiamondBlade) - The following part immediately opens with a difficult cube jump, a robot jump, and a green orb timing also in the robot game mode. Next is a short ball section containing a severe ball timing and two blind orb timings. The second orb timing leads into a compressed ship straight-fly. Then, the player converts back into a cube, and they must jump onto a block with a red orb timing that leads into a difficult black orb timing. The black orb timing leads into another compressed ship straight-fly. Afterwards is a difficult but synced spider section. Following this, the player must jump (as a robot) into a green orb that leads into a single mini-wave click. Then, the player turns back into a cube, and they simply need to jump into a dash orb. The player then transitions (as a UFO) into a series of cube timings. The entire part ends with a synced spider section, once again.
  • 43-52% (XDiamondX) - Then, the player becomes a ball and they must perform two clicks and then proceed to hit two orbs, those being a yellow orb and a green orb. After this, the game mode switches over to a ship, and this ship contains a pink orb that leads into a black orb that leads into a UFO jump. This jump leads into three orbs, and afterwards a very tight spider timing. Following the timing, the player must hit three orbs and then proceed to straight fly through a short space of spikes in the ship game mode. After this, the player needs to hit a green orb and then straight fly through a bit of confusing gameplay. The part ends with a complex dual and a sloped wave spam.
  • 53-70% (Fenrrig + SiesTer) - Finally, the drop starts. It begins with a sightless series of UFO timings and a few difficult ball hits. Afterwards, the player must perform some difficult wave-spam and an upside-down straight fly. Then, the player needs to complete some quick and tight wave hits and then proceed to traverse through a precise spider section. Instantly after the spider section, the player must straight fly through a bit of spikes, containing a single speed change. The player transitions into a swift and precise wave section with a yellow orb timing in the UFO game mode. After the wave section, the player converts over to a ball. This ball section contains three orb timings, and then the game mode switches over to a UFO for a brief moment before the player gets lead into yet another synced spider section. Then, the player transitions into a UFO section after they jump over a triple spike. This UFO section has a multitude of jumps, spam-clicking, and a bit of orb timings as well. The full part closes with a straight fly and a pink dash orb.
  • 70-85% (Fenrrig + AlexS2003) - Directly after the dash orb, the next part opens with a half-speed ball section with a dose of difficult timings. Afterwards, the player flies downwards into a green orb that leads into two gravity portals. Next, the player needs to hit an array of orbs before hitting a precise wave dash orb. The dash orb leads into a fairly long wave section with some immensely difficult clicks. Then, the player must perform some tight spider hits and then they must proceed to complete three robot jumps and a yellow orb. The entire part ends with a very complex asymmetrical dual and some brief automatic gameplay.
  • 85-98% (Exen + Grayrain) - The final part in the level instantly begins with a very precise green orb timing. The timing leads into a ball section with a pink orb, a green orb, and a black orb. Afterwards, the player hits a yellow pad in the cube game mode that leads into a blue orb, which directly leads into a swift robot jump. Right as the player enters a spider portal, they need to teleport onto a yellow pad that leads into a pink dash orb. The dash orb leads into a complex dual and then the player must proceed to hit a red orb in the UFO gamemode. Next, the player must perform two cube timings that lead into a quadruple-speed wave segment. A series of three cube orb timings transitions the player into a perplexing and swift dual section. The full gameplay of the part ends with a tight mini-wave segment, an array of cube orb timings, and three precise wave hits.
  • 98-100% (Hantein + XDiamondX) - The level ends with the endscreen, which features every creator in the level and the 'logo' of the level.
