Blast Processing
Blast Processing is the seventeenth level in Geometry Dash. It will be released in Update 1.9 along with Theory of Everything 2.
Sneak peeks
On September 16, 2014, Robert Topala posted an image on Facebook and Twitter, with the caption "Can You Guess?" on the bottom left hand corner. It showed 5 images: an explosion icon, a chip, a book, an infinity symbol, and the number 2. The first two images referred to the Waterflame song, Blast Processing. On September 28, Topala published a post on Facebook, thanking his supporters for helping his page receive 400,000 likes. He also posted a sneak peek video of Blast Processing, confirming its existence.
Introductions
Blast Processing introduces a variety of new aesthetics, such as gear-like rotating obstacles. It starts off with a brief cube scene, and features the new blue portal, which transforms the icon into a Wave Wave-like form, later known as the Wave. Also, a new three-dimensional effect was introduced which does not affect the gameplay. It also introduced stair-like and checkered background blocks.
Trivia
- The new mechanic is very similar to an iOS and Android game Wave Wave by Thomas Janson, and the custom Geometry Dash level under the same name, created by Darnoc, his real name is Conrad Hellman.
- The speech in the music before the blue portal says "Get ready for lots of fun, and excitement!", like a corrupted walkie-talkie.
- The name of the level (as well as the name of the song) is a reference to the game console, the Sega Mega Drive (Sega Genesis in NA).
- Oddly enough, the last update with two main levels added featured songs from both Waterflame and DJ Nate (Electroman Adventures and Clubstep), just like the update that this level will be released in with Blast Processing and Theory of Everything 2.
