Coaster Mountain is a 2.2 Medium Demon platformer level created by Serponge. It became the first level to receive a Legendary rating, the third most downloaded platformer level, and the third most-liked platformer Demon level in the game. It is currently the seventh most-liked platformer level.
Gameplay
The gameplay consists of a platforming section and a sliding slopes section. Most notably, the sliding section that connects to the next section makes the level more challenging.
Section 1
Coaster Mountain begins with the player needing to click five times to break free from the ice. Then, the player must climb the platforms and touch the orbs to reach the first section.
The first slide section consists of an ice spike that leads to a slope that goes down with two saw blades in the way that leads the player to another slope that goes the other way around, then it leads to another slope that leads the player to two platforms, one of which leads to another slope that has a steeper platform. Then, there is a slope that goes in the opposite direction, leading to a saw blade between the slopes, which directs the player to a yellow orb. After that, there is another platform and a yellow orb located right beside it. Next are some platforms that lead to a black orb, which prevents the player from crashing into the saw blades. However, before reaching the orb, the saw blades are in the way, blocking the path between platforms. Then, it leads to a yellow orb and a dash orb, which in turn leads to another slope with a drop to another platform that redirects the player in the opposite direction, followed by another one that leads to a yellow orb in the process. Afterwards, it leads to the platformer that leads the player to the second section of the level, where the player must jump to reach it.
Section 2
The second section features icy platforms before the second slide, making navigation more challenging. The first ice platform, located immediately after the checkpoint, features a spike in the middle of the platform, and directly beside it is a yellow orb. There is a platform that can help the player to lose momentum after they touch the icy platform. The player will build up momentum from the ice platform to reach the wooden platform on the opposite side of the rock platform. Once the wooden platform is reached, it leads to a yellow orb, which in turn leads the player to another wooden platform. After that, a yellow orb is found, which in turn leads to a dash orb. The dash orb leads the player to two ice platforms, which in turn lead to a couple of wooden platforms that contain the checkpoint. Then, three icy platforms lead the player to the dash orb, which in turn leads to the second slide.
The second slide features two slopes with red pads positioned right beside the saw blades, leading to a dash orb. When the player jumps on the red pads, the platform with the red pads falls to the ground, and when the player tries to backtrack, they will fall to their death. The red pads guide the player to a dash orb, allowing them to pass through the saw blades safely and reach the slope. The two platforms direct the player to a pink orb and a red orb that jump over the saw blade and land on the red pads. Then, three slopes are next, and one of them is steeper than the others. More platforms will lead the player to red pads that direct the player to a platform and a dash orb. After that, the platform leads the player to two yellow orbs, which in turn lead to a saw blade and a red pad. Then another dash orb that leads to three platforms with red pads. Afterwards, a wind geyser will launch the player high into the air. There were two geysers, followed by a couple of saw blades that led to another geyser. Then, a platform with red pads leads directly to another geyser, which in turn leads to a platform. Afterwards, another platform with red pads will direct the player to a dash orb that leads to a slide to the third and final section of the level.
Section 3
The final intermission features a strong wind from the left, causing unexpected acceleration when the player is going to the right. The player encounters a moving platform that leads to another platform; they must be careful not to fall off due to the wind. Then, another platform with the same deal. Afterwards, the platform leads the player to a saw blade; there is a gap that goes underneath the saw blade. Then, the player needs to jump onto the platform to progress. However, if the player fails to do so, a small platform that connects to the main platform will save them from falling. The platform leads to a yellow orb, allowing the player to squeeze through the saw blades, and then to a platform that leads to yet another moving platform. Then, the saw blades prevent the player from jumping over to the next platform; the only way to get through is by using a moving platform with a red pad. Then, the player needs to jump off the platform to the next; afterwards, the violent wind stops, and the final slide begins.
The final slide has no room for errors during the descent, and to make matters worse, some platforms will collapse when touched by the player. It starts with a spike at the beginning of the slide, and then the real show begins. The slope leads the player to a dash orb; the player must act fast before falling. The dash orb leads to a platform with red pads. After that, the player must navigate around the saw blades while falling to avoid crashing. The slope will lead the player to another dash orb, which in turn leads to a platform with red pads. However, this time, it goes in the opposite direction before heading to the right. Then, the player reaches the slope that leads to yet another platform with red pads. After that, the player must navigate carefully in a zig-zag movement to avoid crashing into the saw blades in the process. Then it leads to another platform with red pads, similar to the previous one, but this time it leads to a geyser. The player needs to navigate carefully while in the geysers, and between them is yet another platform with red pads. Afterwards, a slope leads the player towards another red pad platform, which the player must navigate carefully to reach the platform at the bottom. A dash orb leads the player to a platform with red pads, which the player must pass through twice before reaching two platforms that lead to a zip line, ultimately ending the level.
After a while, the player reaches the ground that leads to a house. If the player goes the opposite way, the wind will push the player back from dying at the end. When the player reaches the house, the level ends after a brief period.
User coins
There are three user coins in this level, all of which are located in the platforming segments.
- The first coin is at the beginning of the level. While the player is climbing to the first sliding section, there is a gap between the second penguin and the yellow orb. When the player falls into the gap, it reveals the coin. To leave the cave, the player must go right and will fall to the segment where the level begins.
- The second coin is in the icy platforms segment. Right beside the checkpoint, a red orb is located that leads to a dash orb, which is positioned towards the 1x1 platforms. The player must be careful on the ice platform to avoid falling into the saw blades. At the end of the path, two dash orbs direct the player to the second series of icy platforms. There is a black orb in the middle of the segment. Afterwards, the path will lead the player to the second checkpoint before dropping them to the next one.
- The final coin is at the windy segment. During the segment, there are a couple of platforms that lead to a tower that contains the final coin. The player must be careful climbing up to prevent the wind from blowing them away. Afterwards, the player can grab the third and final coin of the level; afterwards, the wind stops. A zip line at the top will lead the player to the final sliding section.
