*First Coin (31%): The player must collect a hidden key at the beginning of the drop. This key unlocks a specific path through the structures at 40% where the coin is located.
*The second coin is located within the mini-Ship sequence beginning at 57%. To unlock it, the player must click four jump orbs - two yellow followed by two green. The orbs are located at 57.5%, 59%, 59.75%, and 60.75%. Once all four orbs are clicked, flying through the center of the structure at 62% will unlock a hidden ending for the sequence, inside which is the coin.
*Second Coin (58%): During the ship sequence, the player must trigger four invisible orbs. This opens a gate at 61% that leads to a narrow corridor containing the coin.
*The third and final coin is located at 94%, but requires inputting a passcode to collect it.
*Third Coin (92%): Throughout the level, three random digits appear in the background. At the end screen, the player must interact with a numeric keypad to enter these digits. Correct input grants the third coin.
**At the 65% transition, three digits will appear in the background; the chosen digits are always unique and random with each attempt. Once memorized, the player must skip the first dash orb at 87% and hit a blue orb barely visible at the bottom of the screen. This will allow access to a higher path, which leads to a series of 10 buttons at 90%.
**The buttons are used to enter the three memorized digits; they remain unlabelled until hit. The first nine buttons represent a digit from one to nine in ascending order; the tenth button represents zero. To unlock access to the coin, the player must hit all of (and only) the three buttons corresponding to their memorized digits. Successful entry opens a door to the coin, which would otherwise cause the player to crash.

Crystal Corridor is a 2.1 Epic Easy Demon level created by Knots and published on 7 June 2021. It is widely considered a landmark of the modern design style, and was praised for its optimized use of the object limit to create complex background animations and a cohesive technological atmosphere.

Description

  • 0–20%: The level opens with a low-speed Cube and Ship sequence. The player navigates through a series of "Crystal Storage" rooms. This section introduces the primary color scheme of neon pink and lime green.
  • 20–30%: A transitionary period featuring a Spider and Ball segment. The backgrounds become more complex, showcasing animated terminals and industrial machinery.
  • 30–50% (The Drop): The speed increases to 3x. This segment is highly synced to the melody of the soundtrack, utilizing rapid transitions between the Wave, Ship, and Ball game modes.
  • 50–90%: The gameplay stabilizes into a rhythmic Ship and UFO section. The player must navigate around large, pulsing crystal structures that serve as both hazards and visual focal points.
  • 90–100%: A final Cube sequence leads to a high-detail end screen featuring the character Lyssyx and the creator's credits.

User coins

Crystal Corridor features three user coins, which require a combination of path-finding and memorization.

  • The first coin requires the player to collect a custom key as the spider at 27.5%. Once collected, a custom portal will appear at 35%, teleporting the player to a mini-Cube gameplay section with the coin. The player returns to the normal route at 39.5%.
  • The second coin is located within the mini-Ship sequence beginning at 57%.
  • The third and final coin is located at 94%, but requires inputting a passcode to collect it.
    • At the 65% transition, three digits will appear in the background; the chosen digits are always unique and random with each attempt. Once memorized, the player must skip the first dash orb at 87% and hit a blue orb barely visible at the bottom of the screen. This will allow access to a higher path, which leads to a series of 10 buttons at 90%.
    • The buttons are used to enter the three memorized digits; they remain unlabelled until hit. The first nine buttons represent a digit from one to nine in ascending order; the tenth button represents zero. To unlock access to the coin, the player must hit all of (and only) the three buttons corresponding to their memorized digits. Successful entry opens a door to the coin, which would otherwise cause the player to crash.

Trivia

  • According to a comment on Viprin's showcase of the level, Knots lost two months of work on Crystal Corridor due to a data loss.
  • A developer easter egg can be found if the player inputs 1479 into the third coin's button series: the doors will open, but the player will be crushed by a large orange cube just before reaching them.
