Ghoul is a 2.1 Insane level by DesTicY. It is the first level of the Death Gauntlet.

Description

Ghoul is a glow-styled, fast-paced and moderately difficult level for inexperienced players.

  • 0-14%: For the beginning, the song’s offset is set to where the song eventually intensifies during the pre-drop. As for the gameplay, it is at normal speed and starts with a cube featuring standard timings, then a robot with tighter timings and small jumps. It caps off with two dash orbs that sync with the song.
  • 15-31%: This whole section is set in double-speed. It contains a variety of game-mode changes, which require some muscle-memory to get down. The game-mode sequence is S, U, SP, C, B, S, W, and C, all of which contain some tight timings and tricky maneuvering.
  • 32-38%: For this short section, the player's icon is mini, and they are at normal-speed. Most of the objects move frequently here. This is also where the first coin is located. After a few seconds, the player goes into a robot portal and must do some more timings. It can be difficult to clear this segment first try, so it is recommended for the player to use Practice Mode.
  • 38-47%: This part kind of serves as a build-up before the actual build-up. It is at double-speed, and like 15-31%, has a variety of game-mode changes: U, S, C, B, and R.
  • 47-61%: Afterward, the speed slows down, and the player quickly transitions through multiple game-modes. First is a half-speed ship sequence with a couple of rotating curved platforms, then a wave segment with some fairly tight spaces, then a simple UFO segment featuring moving structures and one gravity portal. Next is a normal-speed robot segment with a couple of tricky jumps and green jump orbs, then a short double-speed ball segment containing a few easy timings. To end this section, the player goes through a triple-speed cube segment with some straightforward gravity changes and a quadruple-speed portal as the music beat swells up.
  • 62-80%:
  • 80-100%:

User coins

  • The first coin is located at 37%. To collect it, the player must not hit the blue orb at 34% and instead hit a green orb just off-screen. Upon doing so, a secret path will open, at the end of which the coin is located.
  • The second coin is located at 97%, on the second-to-last platform in the last cube section. To obtain it, the player needs to defeat the boss by completing three actions during the second half of the level:
    • Collect the skull at 72% by not hitting the green dash orb and instead flying between the blocks at the top of the screen.
    • Collect a potion at 78%. To obtain it, in the same way as collecting the first coin, do not hit the blue orb and instead hit a green orb just off-screen.
    • Drop down and hit the green square orb at 88%, located in the midst of the skulls during the boss' skull attack.
