Mechanical Showdown is a 2.0/2.1 Medium Demon level by Tongii, published on 31 December 2016. It is the third level of the Demon Gauntlet.

Description

The level begins with a regular normal-speed cube section with some orb fakes. Near the end, the player briefly slows down to half-speed before speeding back to normal into a broken part. At the drop, the player transitions into a challenging double-speed ship part with many moving obstacles. After briefly becoming half-speed, an easier ball part with some orb fakes comes next, with a brief triple-speed ball and cube dual following that. A triple-speed wave segment with numerous moving obstacles follows.

After briefly becoming a dual, the player transitions into a very challenging mini-UFO section with many shaking and moving spiked obstacles. A mini-ship part with some straight fly follows. After the ship part, a very challenging robot dual section with varying sizes occurs, with one of the robots soon turning into a cube. After a dual ball, a ship sequence and a UFO part come next, and the level concludes with the player being a half-speed cube.

User coins

  • The first user coin is located at 4% during the first cube section. The player must not jump on a platform, hit an offscreen blue jump orb to avoid falling up to death, and then jump to obtain the coin.
  • The second user coin is located at 72% during a mini-ship sequence and is triggered by a key at 51% during a fast-paced wave segment. There, the player must fly into a tight corridor inside an object to where the key is and later fly into a route where the player would usually crash during the ship sequence to where the coin is.
  • The third user coin is located at 94% during the final UFO segment. There, the player must go under a platform and into a tight corridor inside a pillar where the coin is located.
