Necropolis is a 1.8 Insane Demon created and hack-verified by Neptune. It used to be considered one of the hardest levels in the game but has fallen fairly far, now considered as an upper-tier Insane Demon. Despite being a 1.8 level, the level used to be considered to be one of the hardest Demons due to its use of traps, fakes, ship sequences with narrow spaces, and tight ball spaces. It features a very large amount of precise timings, as well as several notoriously annoying ball segments that have caused some players to fail at the end of the level. It is currently on the Legacy List of the Geometry Dash Demonlist.

Gameplay
* 0-4%: The level starts off rapidly difficult, with a normal-speed cube section containing a couple of tricky spike-based timings and a quadruple spike that you are able to jump over at the beginning. This is followed by a ball segment with many near frame-perfect timings.
* 5-8%: Next, it switches to a somewhat difficult ship sequence that requires a degree of straight fly skill and control.
* 9-12%: This switches back to a cube section that features a fake mini-portal and numerous fake spikes that actually have invisible platforms on top of them, a signature feature in Neptune's harder Demons. The player must find out which spikes are safe to jump on.
* 13-15%: If the player gets through this, they then enter a mini-UFO segment of moderate difficulty that contains several tricky gravity changes.
* 16-18%: Afterward, the player quickly transitions into a very irritating mini-ball segment with jump ring timings, a couple of quick speed changes, and very crucial timings that are nearly frame-perfect.
* 19-29%: When the mini ball part is done, the player switches into a normal-sized cube section. Throughout this part, there are numerous jump rings and spikes on the floor. The player is required to memorize which jump rings to hit and which ones to skip as there is too little time to anticipate obstacles.
* 30-36%: When the music gets more upbeat and intense, the cube switches to an upside-down ship sequence where the player must navigate through several narrow pillars while going through numerous mini and gravity portals, ending with a jump ring timing causing the player to fly over a tall hill of spikes.
* 37-47%: Following this is a cube section similar to the one before (19-29%), but this time set in anti-gravity (upside-down). Like the first one, the player is required to memorize which jump rings to hit and which ones to skip as there is too little time to anticipate obstacles.
* 48-52%: This is followed by a short triple-speed mini ball segment that is thankfully far easier than the first two ball segments and only lasts for a few seconds but features some tricky timings that may throw off the player.
* 53-58%: It quickly transitions into a much easier half-speed mini-cube section with fewer trolls and is sort of a break for the last leg of the level. At 55%, the player enters an easy normal-speed and normal-sized cube section that features three pairs of spikes (one on the ground, and one hanging in mid-air attached to a block and chain decoration), with a blue jump pad directly in front of each one. Here, the player must hit the second blue jump pad to land on an invisible platform covering the second overhanging spike, then fall up and hit four yellow jump orbs to clear the section.
* 59-64%: The player then switches to a UFO segment with numerous gravity portals positioned in very tight openings. Here, the player must time their UFO well in order to get through.
* 65-72%: After this, the player gets barraged by a very difficult part of the level. The player is greeted by a ship sequence that is something out of Ice Carbon Diablo X, followed by a total of three tricky ball segments, two ship segments, a cube section, and a UFO segment, all of which require near picture-perfect timing and very good straight fly to clear.
* 73-86%: If the player makes it through this, they enter an insanely difficult cube. This cube section is notorious for having insanely awkward timings, very tight jumps, and lighting that is made to troll the player on their way to the end of the level. Later on, the player is met by three sets of quadruple spikes that the player has to line themselves perfectly with in order to avoid crashing.
* 87-90%: After this, the player goes into the final ship sequence. The first form in the final segment is a ship where one must go to narrow passages, all the while going in and out of anti-gravity and going into mini form.
* 91-93%: It then switches to a mini ball segment which requires frame-perfect timing and is probably the most troll-ish part about the end of this level.
* 94-100%: When the player overcomes this, they will enter a half-speed mini UFO segment and the level's name, "NECROPOLIS", is seen made of blocks, signaling that the player has beaten the level. Finally, the level ends.

Trivia
*The level cannot be copied.
*The level contains 10,045 objects.
*The level is 1m 38s in length.
*Neptune has never admitted nor denied accusations of hacking to verify this level, although there is evidence that he cut the video he posted to YouTube.
**At 0:08 seconds into his verification video, after going through the cube portal, the player can see the spinning blades switch direction from clockwise to counter-clockwise.
*'Necropolis' translates to 'city of the dead' (Necropolis were underground cemeteries in the Roman Empire), explaining the crosses in the background. This crosses trend would later become popular in other Hard Demons.
*There are two remakes of this level.
**The first is called NecropoliX. It was built by Riot and Namtar and verified by Trusta in August of 2017. It mainly focused on memory and cool effects, and just like its brother, it's currently on the Legacy List of the Demonlist.
**The second is called Necromancer. It was built by Riot, Stormfly, and many others, and verified by TGI on February 20, 2019, one year and two days after Knobbelboy verified Bloodlust. Unlike its two predecessors, Necromancer is significantly more difficult than Necropolis and NecropoliX, originally placing in the Top 25 of the Demonlist, though it could have easily taken Top 10 or maybe Top 5 at the time of its release, since the level was not rated for five months. It is currently #38 on the Demonlist, above Hyper Paracosm (#39) and below Wasureta (#37).
