The following portals change the way the player interacts with the portals:
*Gravity portal: There are two thin-ringed variants; yellow changes the gravity to up, and blue changes the gravity to down. They are first formally encountered in [[Dry Out]]. 2 Blue ones make Cameos in Back on Track And poltargeist To get Hard secret Coins.
*Mirror portal: There are two multi-ringed variants; orange flips the screen to travel left, and blue flips the screen to travel right. They are first encountered in [[Time Machine]].
*Size portal: There are two speckly variants; pink shrinks the player, and green enlarges the player. This reduces the jumping height of the cube and UFO, although all forms still accelerate at the same speed. The player cannot be enlarged beyond normal size or shrunk more than once. They are first encountered in [[Clutterfunk]].They Show a lighting Bolt When gone through.
*Speed portal: There are four arrow variants; the single blue enables normal speed, this is the default speed on the level editor and is used in most levels, the double green enables fast speed, the triple purple enables very fast speed, and the backward orange enables slow speed. The green and purple ones are first encountered in [[Electrodynamix]], while the blue and yellow ones are introduced in [[Hexagon Force]].
*Copy portal: There are two variants; orange produces a copy with reversed gravity and opposite colours which travels alongside the existing form, and blue deletes the copy. Each form can interact with the level independently. Dying with either form will terminate the remaining one. They are first encountered in [[Hexagon Force]].

Gravity portals

Portals are special map components in Geometry Dash. They modify the way the player interacts with the level, and can even change the cube into different forms.

Manipulation portals

The following portals change the way the player interacts with the level:

Portal Activation Colour Deactivation Colour First Encounter Description
Gravity Yellow Blue Dry Out Changes the gravity to up.
Mirror Orange Blue Time Machine Flips the screen to travel left.
Size Pink Green Clutterfunk Shrinks the icon.
Speed - - Electrodynamix / Hexagon Force

Blue: Normal speed
Green: Fast speed
Pink: Faster speed
Orange: Slow speed

Copy Orange Blue Hexagon Force Produces antigravity copy of icon.

Notes

  • The size portal affects individual forms in different ways. The cube loses jumping height but can perform successive jumps quicker. The UFO also loses jumping height and takes less time to begin descending, However, what is applicable to all forms is the same constant speed which is unchanging from the enlarged state, but gives the impression that while shrunken, the icons move quicker as a result of looking small.
  • The slow speed portal was introduced in Hexagon Force following the initially released speed portals.
  • The copy from a copy portal inverts the chosen colour scheme. While a copy is existent, a collision will terminate the original, and vice versa, with each icon fully able to interact with its surroundings.

Form Portals

The following portals change the form of the player:

Portal Colour First Encounter Description
Cube Green Stereo Madness Changes the icon into a cube.
Ship Pink Stereo Madness Changes the icon into a ship.
Ball Red Cycles Changes the icon into a ball.
UFO Orange Theory of Everything Changes the icon into a UFO.
Unknown Blue - To be released in Update 1.9.
