The Secret Hollow is the fourth Tower platformer level of Geometry Dash and Geometry Dash Lite. It is unlocked after completing The Cellar.

Description

The Secret Hollow introduces the ball form in platformer mode.

The Cursed Thorn

The Secret Hollow features a boss fight against a Spikeball monster called "The Cursed Thorn" after its final checkpoint. Occasionally, it will attack with a green fireball that leaves a small object behind. Upon touching the object, an attack is shot from the player towards the Thorn. The longer the object is there, the higher it begins to float. If it floats too high, it disappears. A total of 10 attacks must connect to defeat the boss, with progress indicated by a health bar that appears at the top of the screen.

As damage is dealt to the boss, its attack pattern changes. New phases are indicated by the Thorn roaring (except for Phase 3, which starts with the Thorn laughing):

• Initial: The Thorn floats side to side above the platform while attacking with fireballs aimed towards the player.
• Phase 2: It begins to shoot fireballs faster and the green fireballs will be aimed further away from the player. Additionally, its movement covers a far smaller distance and is more focused on the center of the arena.
• Phase 3: A new attack is introduced where the Thorn uses a sweeping laser from its mouth. The speed of fireball attacks increases further.
• Phase 4: Another new attack is added, with the Thorn spinning rapidly before ramming the ground where the player is. This creates a wave of spikes on the ground that must be jumped over. The frequency of laser attacks and green fireballs also increase.

Secret coins

• The first secret coin is rewarded for collecting 37 small coins:
• The second secret coin is rewarded for collecting 3 blue coins:
  • The first can be found on one of the blue spiked balls that fall in the beginning. Wait a short time and one will drop with a coin on it.
  • The second can be found in the cube area on the lift between conveyor belts. At the top of the lift is a gap in the wall you can go through.
  • The third can be found after becoming a ball and going back to the beginning of the section, where there's a purple sparkle behind some rocks.
• The third secret coin is rewarded for completing the level in 280 seconds or less.

Trivia

• The Secret Hollow requires a minimum of 0 jumps.
• This is the first level that is not in a spinoff game to start the player in a form other than cube.
• The level is internally marked as harder difficulty.

Bugs

• Occasionally, when fighting against the Cursed Thorn, it doesn’t fire anything after you get out of the third phase; it just moves around.
  • This seems to be common for a lot of players, but not all have experienced this bug. It is unknown if RobTop will fix this.
