Trotil is a 2.1 Extreme Demon mega-collaboration level hosted by Eiriley.

It was showcased by Exen on January 9, 2023, but remained unverified until it was picked up by Moldovan player ItzTayfun, who balanced, bugfixed, and nerfed the level from a buggy Top 20 state, down to a fun and playable Top 60 state. The level was verified by ItzTayfun and published on the cherryteam account on September 17, 2023. The publishing on Cherry Team's account was likely to give the creators more publicity within the GD community, as this level has no relation to the team.
Description
The gameplay and decoration were all made by his subscribers as part of a mass creator contest. The decoration is glass-themed but is often mistaken for a snowy winter theme as many perceived some parts of the level did not execute the glass theme well enough to distinguish them from a winter theme.

Gameplay
It was showcased by Exen on 9 January 2023 but remained unverified until it was picked up by Moldovan player ItzTayfun, who balanced, bug-fixed and nerfed the level from Top 20 to Top 60-difficulty. The level was verified by ItzTayfun and published on the cherryteam account on 17 September 2023. The publishing on Cherry Team's account was likely to give the creators more publicity within the community, as this level has no relation to the team.
All of the gameplay in Trotil was created by Ani. Much of the level's gameplay consists of fast changing gamemodes and sync-based orb timings.

* 0-16% (Chilli): The level begins with Chilli's part, comprised mostly of a series of tight, sync-based spider timings, with some occasional cube timings on orbs. The last quarter of Chilli's part is comprised of a small, easier cube section that runs from 12-15% as it then transitions into a title card that says "ТРОТИЛ" (which is "trotil" in Russian, which translates to English as "trinitrotoluene", also known as TNT), alongside a glass skull.
:Much of Trotil's gameplay consists of fast-changing game-modes and sync-based orb timings. Unfortunately, creators of the gameplay were not credited in the final level, and only are credited as "SUBSCRIBERS" in the level's end-screen.
* 16-22% (Eggephant): Eggephant's short part begins at the drop, or the part in the song where the beat picks up. This part consists of difficult sync-based robot timings and ends with a quite short, but frankly learny (for its length) ball-spider dual, due to its odd timings.
* 22-37% (postCodeff): This part begins with a singular cube click and a sync-based wave segment which ends with a dash orb, dropping into an anti-gravity portal (or the yellow gravity portal) that then lands on a platform with a robot portal. The player goes through a few robot timinto a short segment of ship timings. After is another robot part mostly consisting of orb timings, which then goes into four more gamemodes with one click each. The player then goes into a cube section comprised of mostly orb timings, then into a sync-based wave and ending with a robot and cube section consisting of red orbs and teleport portals.
* 37-42% (Val'go): This next part, created by Val'go, is one of the best representations of the glass theme in the level, although just a few seconds long. It begins with a few cube and UFO timings, which transitions into a single-click spider part, into a two-click cube, and back into a two-click spider. The part ends with an anti-gravity dash orb (or pink dash orb) timing with the cube into a platform of pink pads and over a gear.
* 42-55% (SpritZ): SpritZ's part starts with a relatively easy cube double-click. It then goes into a short wave and into a cube which launches the player into a the first straight-fly segment in the level at 44%. The straight-fly then ends into an easy UFO and back into a cube which jumps into a short sync-based, four-click ball segment. The player then turns into a cube that jumps into another wave segment of similar gameplay to the first one in SpritZ's part. The player is then launched into two single-click gamemode changes, and ends with another sync-based wave segment, with a very short cube break in the middle, added for a quick alignment change.
* 55-70% (Feron): The timings in this part are a little slower in terms of constant changing of gamemodes, and speed changes are also introduced. The part starts with two cube timings into a short but tight ship section, with a 2x speed change in the middle that quickly returns to a 4x speed UFO segment. It then enters a short cube which serves as a transition into a short ship section comprised of two sync-based blue orb timings. It enters another cube transition into a slightly longer sync-wave where mini-wave is introduced for the first time in the level. It then goes through a few gravity portals into a fast spider segment and a transition UFO. The player then enters a ball segment comprised of two double-clicks, into a short cube and a two-click spider segment that serves a transition into LiT's short part.
* 70-75% (LiT): LiT's part starts with a cube dash orb into a short ball section where they often cross paths. It then goes into a dual sync-wave that ends with a short spam into a cube transition into the final part, decorated by Vonxi.
* 75-90% (Vonxi): The final part in the level, decorated by Vonxi, consists of many transitions into other gamemodes after a short period of time. It starts with a short ship section where the player has to maneuver around two saws, then into a cube-wave-cube-wave sequence of only three clicks in about one second. It then goes into a longer single-gravity robot section and then into a faster ship section maneuvering around more sawblades. Then, a short cube-spider sequence is entered with a few easier timings per gamemode. It then goes into a slower UFO section, then to a faster cube-robot sequence of several tight timings. The player then enters a short sync-wave then into the much faster straight-fly, comprised mostly of mini-ship, which ends the level.
* 90-100% (SonyaGMD + Inex): This is the endscreen of the level and does not have any gameplay coordinated with it. It consists of a broken skull in the center of the screen with a title card over it, spelling out "TROTiL", whereas the letters are broken and iced, and the "O" serves as a rotating blue pentagram in the center of the skull with a black shadow underneath it. On the bottom left and right sides of the screen, next to the skull, it reads out the credits of everyone who took part in making the level. The endscreen flashes white and fades out at 95%, with the remaining 5% of the level being an empty black screen with the player shadow and three occasional grey pulses of background glow.

Trotil is a 2.1 Extreme Demon mega-collaboration level hosted by Eiriley.

Description

[edit | edit source]

The gameplay and decoration were all made by his subscribers as part of a mass creator contest. The decoration is glass-themed but is often mistaken for a snowy winter theme as many perceived some parts of the level did not execute the glass theme well enough to distinguish them from a winter theme.

It was showcased by Exen on 9 January 2023[1] but remained unverified until it was picked up by Moldovan player ItzTayfun, who balanced, bug-fixed and nerfed the level from Top 20 to Top 60-difficulty. The level was verified by ItzTayfun and published on the cherryteam account on 17 September 2023.[2] The publishing on Cherry Team's account was likely to give the creators more publicity within the community, as this level has no relation to the team.

Much of Trotil's gameplay consists of fast-changing game-modes and sync-based orb timings. Unfortunately, creators of the gameplay were not credited in the final level, and only are credited as "SUBSCRIBERS" in the level's end-screen.
  • 0-16% (Chilli): The level begins with Chilli's part, consisting primarily of a series of tight, sync-based spider timings, with occasional cube timings on orbs. The last quarter of Chilli's part is comprised of a small, easier cube section that runs from 12-15% as it then transitions into a title card that says 'ТРОТИЛ' ('trotil' in Russian, translating to English as 'trinitrotoluene', also known as TNT), alongside a glass skull.
  • 16-22% (Eggephant): Eggephant's short part begins at the drop and consists of difficult sync-based robot timings and ends with a quite short, but relatively learny (for its length) ball-spider dual, due to its odd timings.
  • 22-37% (postCodeff): This part begins with a singular cube click and a sync-based wave segment which ends with a dash orb, dropping the player into a yellow gravity portal that then lands them on a platform with a robot portal. The player goes through a few robot timings before entering a short segment of ship timings. After is another robot part primarily consisting of orb timings, which then goes into four more game-modes with one click each. The player then goes into a cube section comprised of mostly orb timings, then into a sync-based wave and ends with a robot and cube section consisting of red orbs and teleport portals.
  • 37-42% (Val'go): This next part, created by Val'go, is considered one of the best representations of the glass theme in the level, although just a few seconds long. It begins with a few cube and UFO timings, which transitions into a single-click spider part, into a two-click cube and back into a two-click spider. The part ends with a pink dash orb timing before the cube goes into a platform of pink pads and over a gear.
  • 42-55% (SpritZ): SpritZ's part starts with a relatively easy cube double-click. It then goes into a short wave and into a cube, which launches the player into the first straight-fly segment in the level at 44%. The straight-fly then leads into an easy UFO and back into a cube, which jumps into a short sync-based, four-click ball segment. The player is then launched into two single-click game-mode changes and ends with another sync-based wave segment, consisting of a short cube break in the middle, added for a quick alignment change.

The part starts with two cube timings into a short but tight ship section, with a double-speed change in the middle that quickly returns to a quadruple-speed UFO segment. It then enters a short cube, a transition into a short ship section comprised of two sync-based blue orb timings. Another cube transition goes into a slightly longer sync-wave where mini-wave is introduced in the level. It then goes through a few gravity portals into a fast spider segment and a transition UFO section. The player then enters a ball segment comprised of two double-clicks into a short cube and a two-click spider segment that serves as a transition into LiT's short part.
  • 70-75% (LiT): LiT's part starts with a cube dash orb into a short ball section where they often cross paths. It then goes into a dual sync-wave that ends with a short spam into a cube transition into the final part, decorated by Vonxi.
  • 75-90% (Vonxi): The final part of the level, decorated by Vonxi, consists of many transitions into other game-modes after a short period. It starts with a short ship section where the player has to manoeuvre around two saws, then into a cube-wave-cube-wave sequence of only three clicks in about one second. It consists of a broken skull in the centre of the screen with a title card over it, spelling out 'TROTiL', whereas the letters are broken and iced, and the 'O' serves as a rotating blue pentagram in the centre of the skull with a black shadow underneath it. On the bottom left and right sides of the screen, next to the skull, it reads out the credits of everyone who contributed to making the level. The end-screen flashes white and fades out at 95%, with the remaining 5% of the level being an empty black screen with the player shadow and three occasional grey pulses of background glow.

  • On 8 February 2023, a Russian player and former Cherry Team member named squinset uploaded a progress video titled '[TOP 35?] TROTIL 47%', showing him achieving 47% on the level from zero. squinset had been playing the level in its open verification, pre-bug fixed and pre-balanced state, and stated in his description how luck-based, random and buggy the gameplay was, explaining how 'very often the player dies where, in theory, he should not' (roughly translated to English). He stated that the level was 'a little more difficult than Shukketsu', his hardest demon, claiming it to be Top 25-35 on the Demonlist.[3]
    • Although squinset initially planned to verify the level, he dropped it due to poor experience and anger with the level. squinset's 47% progress video remains the only video on his channel showcasing any progress on the level.[4]
  • Trotil was placed at #59 on the Demonlist on 28 October 2023, above SARY NEVER CLEAR and below Cosmic Cyclone.[5]
  • The placement of TrakineS on 3 April 2026 pushed Trotil into the Legacy List of the Demonlist after almost two and a half years.
