WhyMeWhyMeWhyMeWhyMe is a 2.1 Hard level by TMNGaming on 18 July 2021. It is the fourth level of the Portal Gauntlet.

WhyMeWhyMeWhyMeWhyMe is a story-driven level about TMNGaming's experiences with level creation. Its on-screen text discusses abandoned ideas, self-doubt, the pressure to gain recognition, and the effect of negative comments. Several sections allow the player to choose between different routes.

Description
Description
*0-39%: WhyMeWhyMeWhyMeWhyMe opens on a black screen with the message, 'Hi. I am going to show you the inside of my mind.' The background changes to black and purple as the player enters a series of branching routes, which switch with the use of a toggle orb. This area is frames as a collection of every level idea TMNGaming has had and invites the player to look around. Each route passes through different framed scenes displaying level concepts and short phrases, including 'Project: Canvas', 'I wrote a story', 'Life is a simulation', 'Ultimate perfection', 'A world without pain' and 'None of this is real'. The routes periodically rejoin, then separate again. Near the end, the text changes from 'I've been blessed with knowledge' to 'I've been cursed with knowledge'.
WhyMeWhyMeWhyMeWhyMe is a commentary of what goes on inside the creators mind, sharing how their passion and excitement for creating slowly turned into a burden due to their anxiety and doubts surrounding if anyone would actually enjoy their creations.
*39-49%: The word 'KNOWLEDGE' appears across a grey background filled with connected points and geometric shapes. The player rapidly changes game modes while questions appear throughout the section, including 'Why am I so unhappy?', 'What is my purpose?', 'Why am I so average?', 'What am I doing wrong?' and 'Was making this level a waste of time?' Other questions concern art, dreams, simulations, and the player's surroundings. The section becomes progressively brighter before cutting to the level's title.
*49-60%: The player enters a white area containing overlapping red, green, purple and rainbow-coloured panels. Each panel has its own block design, while loading windows and stick figures appear between them. The section cycles through several game modes, and has messages in the loading windows that read 'If you want to become an artist... probably don't' and 'Nobody will remember your name in 400 years', among others. These coloured panels disappear when the player reaches 60%.
*60-89%: A black screen again displays 'Hi. I am going to show you the inside of my mind.' Gameplay resumes with a black-and-dark-red colour scheme. The text asks whether the thoughts shown in the level also trouble the player. TMNGaming then recalls beginning to create levels seven years earlier, accompanied by framed depictions of earlier projects. The text states that the creator's 'innocence' and 'creative mind' are gone and that his creativity has become a burden. Hostile comments such as 'Give up', 'Worst level I've ever seen' and 'Stop being selfish' appear in the background. The section becomes almost completely dark as the text describes a fear of being consumed by these thoughts, ending with 'I am going insane'.
*89-100%: A white flash leads to a blue and purple section made from dark platforms with coloured gradient centres. The player switches between the cube, ship, UFO, and wave while phrases like 'We inspire you', 'Be happy', and 'Heal you' appear in the background. These are followed by 'Please understand me', 'Please acknowledge me', and 'Please be happy'. At 100%, the screen turns black and the words 'please help me' appear at the bottom.

User coins
WhyMeWhyMeWhyMeWhyMe contains three user coins.
#39%: At 36%, the player must jump onto the platform above the normal route and collect a gold coin. The user coin is then awarded automatically at 39%.
#57%: At 53%, the player must fly above the cube portal and enter a route containing a robot portal. The robot must hit an orb at 56% to open another route containing a UFO portal. After several UFO inputs, the player enters a cube portal and makes one final jump to collect the coin. A stick figure congratulates the player after the route is completed.
#94%: At 91%, the player must fly above the UFO portal and remain a ship. The player must then pass above the cube portal at 92% and enter a hidden cube portal. After entering it, the player must jump, hit a yellow orb, and time an input on a pink dash orb. A green orb returns the player to the normal route after the coin is collected.

Trivia
Trivia
*WhyMeWhyMeWhyMeWhyMe was the first winner of the Best Story Level category in The Geometry Dash Awards. The category was introduced in 2021 and discontinued after 2022.
*When the Portal Gauntlet first released, this level recieved lots of hate from players due to its XL length and irritating gameplay. Many people in the community found this hate to be unacceptable however, saying how these comments were the exact negative remarks that were featured in the level.
*This level used to have a bug at 93% with the orb, where it wouldn't let you buffer it. This was fixed after the level was added to the Portal Gauntlet.
*This is one of 6 gauntlet levels to be over 3 minutes long, the others being Snow flies in Fog, Change of Scene, I See Stars, in Silico and Out of Place.
**This is the longest of the 5, by extension meaning it is the longest gauntlet level.
