==History==
The creation of CONVOLUTION began around early May 2024, with the first full showcase of the level uploaded on 17 May 2024, showing an earlier version with harder gameplay and slightly shorter length.

On 6 June 2024, Maddy extended CONVOLUTION and made some small updates, with the major addition being the ''DONT CHOKE'' final section.

GToast began verifying CONVOLUTION in mid-July 2024 and verified it on 12 August 2024, after 17 deaths at the last section.

On 20 August 2024, AyumiRenko began playing CONVOLUTION, failing at the fourth-to-last jump two days later. Just four days after starting to grind the level, he beat it in 3,500 attempts, becoming the first victor of the level and setting the attempt count world record.

CONVOLUTION was placed at the #1 spot on The Platformer List (TPL),<ref>https://gdplatformerlist.com/#/</ref> which includes both rated and unrated levels, on 21 August 2024, dethroning [[Null]] as the hardest unrated platformer level.

Two days later, CONVOLUTION would be rated, being placed at #1 on the rated platformer Demon List (Pemonlist),<ref>https://pemonlist.com/#/</ref> dethroning Null.

On 21 February 2025, CONVOLUTION was dethroned as the hardest platformer level by [[delightful climb]], the current hardest unrated platformer level as of 28 March 2026. CONVOLUTION became the longest-standing Top 1 level on The Platformer List (TPL), having held the top position for 184 days, beating the previous record of 115 days set by the level Null.

On 18 July 2025, [[Diamonds For Dashers]] was rated by RobTop, instantly becoming the new hardest-rated platformer level, dethroning CONVOLUTION after 329 days at the top spot, setting a new record as the longest-standing Top 1 rated level.
