==History== EricVanWilderman has had a long history in Geometry Dash. Starting in early Update 1.9 on 24 December 2014, he began playing Geometry Dash. His first video was completing Stereo Madness, Back On Track, and Polargeist with a hot sauce challenge. After this, he started to complete all the main RobTop levels, concluding with Theory of Everything 2 on 5 February 2015. After completing v2's of the title levels by Neptune, he started to play easier Demons such as Problematic. As his following grew, he attempted more difficult Demons such as Toxin Lab II and The Robotic Rush, and his popularity as a Geometry Dash player rose as well. On 11 April 2017, Eric completed Old Cataclysm, becoming the first non-Geometry Dash-oriented YouTuber to have beaten an Extreme Demon. Only a month later, he then completed New Cataclysm and was on the Top 50 Demonlist. In September 2017, he completed ICE Carbon Diablo X. Players like Riot, AeonAir, and TrusTa started to take notice of Eric's rapid rise in fame and Geometry Dash gameplay, so they collaborated with him in videos to welcome him into the community. In 2018, Eric started a series called 'The Twelve Demons of Christmas' and played 12 Demons every day. He beat his fourth Extreme Demon, Quest For Perfection (which was rated as the aforementioned difficulty at that time but is now an Insane Demon), on 26 December 2018. In the Twelve Demons of Christmas 2019, he beat his fifth Extreme Demon (which was rated as the aforementioned difficulty at that time but is now an Insane Demon), Temple of Destiny. In 2020, Eric beat three new hardest Demons. The first one was HyperSonic, the second one was AcropoliX, and for the third one, he beat Bloodbath on a copyable version because he crashed due to a 240Hz bug on the original. On 9 October 2020, he beat aftermath, thereby completing the Apocalyptic Trilogy. In the Twelve Demons of Christmas 2020, Eric beat his next Extreme Demon, The Lost Existence, on the first day of Christmas. In the same series, he beat some other Extremes as well, such as Acu and Red World Rebirth, the latter being an Extreme Demon that he tried to beat around a year ago but dropped. These achievements brought EVW's total to 10 Extreme Demons completed by the end of 2020. For 2021, Eric set a goal to beat at least one Extreme Demon per month, and for January, he beat NecropoliX after 3,411 attempts. On 29 January 2021, he began practising Phobos, which he beat as his new hardest on 25 March 2021. He also started practising Down Bass, which he beat on 22 April 2021. On 31 May 2021, he began practising Artificial Ascent for his new hardest Demon. He beat the level on 12 August 2021. On 2 September 2021, he started practising Heartbeat, which he beat ten days later on 12 September 2021. In the Twelve Demons of Christmas 2021, Eric beat the Extreme Demons Falling Up, Misty Mountains, Dark Odyssey and The Ultimate Phase. On 25 September 2021, Eric announced that his next Extreme Demon would be Sakupen Hell, which he beat on 26 March 2022. Eric announced his next hardest Extreme Demon, Digital Descent, on 4 May 2022. He beat it on 12 October 2022. In the Twelve Demons of Christmas 2022, Eric beat the Extreme Demon Reanimate. Eric beat Black Blizzard on 3 February 2023, marking his third-hardest Demon. On 13 August 2023, Eric won the Geometry Dash 10-Year Anniversary award for Best YouTuber. On 3 May 2025, Eric beat Yatagarasu as his new hardest for the first time in over two years. Soon after, he revealed his plans to beat the remainder of the RGB; first Erebus as his second hardest, which he completed on 18 July 2025, then Sonic Wave as his second new hardest in one year, which he completed on 19 October 2025. On 6 February 2026, Eric announced that he would aim to beat Bloodlust in the future and began streaming Quantum Processing as the first in a series of completions aimed at improving his skill at the game in preparation, which he beat on 30 March 2026. His next level in his 'Road to Bloodlust' journey was Cybernetic Crescent, which he wanted to beat to complete the Technology Trilogy. On 16 June, he managed to beat it, fluking from 75%. On 29 June, Eric announced that Bloodlust was planned to be his possibly final major Extreme Demon completion, and that he would start playing it soon. On 3 August, Eric achieved a current best of 68% on Bloodlust, fluking from 45%. On 20 August, he achieved 72%, and on 26 September 2026, his current best of 78%. ===Equipment=== EricVanWilderman used a PS4 controller until 3 June 2018, and beat his first three Extreme Demons with it. He switched to a mouse on 3 June 2018. He broke his mouse (Logitech G502) on 28 August 2020, while trying to complete Blast Processing Full by LuneraGD, and posted on YouTube on 1 September 2020, that he bought a Basilisk V2, following AeonAir's advice on Twitter. ===Status=== EricVanWilderman is currently active and shows no signs of retiring from the community anytime soon. ===Icons=== EricVanWilderman uses the 800-star cube, the 75-secret coin ship, the Path of Blood Rank 10 ball, a 100-key chest UFO, a 100-key chest wave, a robot purchased from the Diamond Shop for 500 Diamond Shards, a 50-key chest spider, and a 25-key chest swing. He also uses the 200-moon jetpack. ===Colours=== EricVanWilderman did not always use the red-and-white icon colours he is known for. He used green and blue from Stereo Madness to Base After Base. He briefly used red and green on Can't Let Go but quickly switched to red and yellow soon after. He used red and yellow from Jumper to xStep, then changed the colours again. He could not make up his mind about which colours to use. He used blue and white for Clutterfunk and purple and pink for Theory of Everything and Electroman Adventures. He used blue and grey for Hexagon Force and Blast Processing and then grey and white for Electrodynamix. For Clubstep, he used orange and blue, and for Theory of Everything 2 and Chicken Techno, he used red and green again. From stereo madness v2 to Cycles v2 R, he used black and white but switched once more. For Xstep v2, he used red and blue, then green and yellow, for Clutterfunk v2. He eventually settled on black and green and used it from Theory of every v2 to Laser Room. He finally chose the famous red and white on 22 June 2015, when he attempted Problematic. On 13 March 2019, he switched to blue and white after obtaining 100 Ice Shards, but he has since returned to his red and white colour scheme and still uses it today. For his Red World Rebirth completion, he changed his colours to red and green because they fit the Christmas theme, but he switched back after the video's release on Christmas of 2020. He briefly used white along with reddish pink as his icon colours, but he is currently using his original colours. While grinding Yatagarasu in April or May 2025, Eric changed his icon colours from red to blue to make them easier to see. He ended up beating the level with blue icons.
