Shukketsu began as a layout created by Gablor (then Shuri) as an attempt at an 'impossible' level,<ref>https://x.com/snailorg/status/2072263220820111853</ref> which Gablor cancelled and made public. Madison Yuko picked up the project and decorated the level. Shukketsu's first version was released on 24 January 2020 and set to be verified by Gablor.<ref name="Old Version">https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YlCPzRGbvsU</ref> After getting the motivation from participating in Fragile, Yuko began to remake the level in early 2021, altering some of the gameplay and adding duke, LexyCat and Zentraa to the project.<ref>https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YMWkUDjnQjo</ref> The level was finished and showcased on 17 September 2021. The level was set to be verified by lamp86, but they dropped it, and it was given to Baeru, who verified it on 3 April 2022 after around 20,000 attempts.<ref name="Verification" />
