It is the third and final instalment of the 'Apocalyptic Trilogy' of hell-themed Extreme Demon levels, after Cataclysm and Bloodbath, following the former levels in music, gameplay and design. It was initially unrated due to a hacked verification before being verified and formerly published by Satcho (Trollfacedash in-game). The level has now been moved to Exenity's account after DaMeister verified an official update. ==Description== *0-13% (Exenity): The beginning of aftermath (in terms of the song) is located at Ggb0y's part in Bloodbath, in other words, the very last part. aftermath begins with a straight-fly ship section reminiscent of the final ship in Cataclysm. This ship contains a couple of size portals, gravity portals and a few orbs. At the end of this ship, the player hits a normal speed portal, and the words 'Aftermath', 'Afterclysm' and 'Exenity' can be seen just before the drop. *13-23% (Squizz): Afterwards, there is a remake of Cataclysm's first wave segment, with a similar layout and more size and gravity portals. *23-33% (Hinds): After that, the player enters a ball segment with tons of difficult timings that have orbs of all types. The obstacles also flash, like in the original Cataclysm. The end of the ball segment also houses a short auto segment right before the next part. *33-45% (Vultra): Then there is a long and quite dark triple-speed ship sequence with some size portals while the player goes through gravity portals to the beat of the song. This ship sequence is a remake of Old Cataclysm. It is considered one of the hardest parts of the level, especially when playing at 60Hz. *45-57% (Rhythmic): After this, the player enters a difficult UFO segment with gameplay revolving around gravity portal timing with a few blue orbs mixed in. The UFO is also a remake of Cataclysm's first UFO. Then, there is a short ship sequence. *57-69% (Exenity + Waze): Next, the player enters a tough triple-speed cube section. Like all the other parts leading up to it, this part draws heavily on Cataclysm. It houses many difficult orb timings, a mini-UFO segment and another cube section. *69-81% (Bassiegames): Next up is a triple-speed mini-robot section featuring timings as difficult as the cube section before. Instead of having a UFO mixed in, a short mini-ship straight-fly sequence appears before going back to a now-normal-sized robot sequence with even more timings. A text reading 'GG?' appears just before the music slows, signalling that the final part is approaching. *81-100% (Findexi + knobbelboy): The last section starts with a half-speed dual ship sequence featuring the word 'FIN' being visible. It quickly transforms into a mini-ship with hard segments to get through as the player now turns into a very narrow wave involving two size portals and a fading background just before the final transition. A portal transforms the player into a normal-speed mini-ship and can be a huge threat to the player if they are not careful. The words 'END...?' and 'Verified by Satcho' can be seen as the level ends. A Trollface can also be seen (it has since been removed now that aftermath is on Exenity's account). ==Gameplay== pX_rD7-DblM ==Trivia== *Upon the creation of the modern Demonlist on Pointercrate on 4 January 2017, aftermath was placed at #15, above Plasma Pulse III and below Allegiance. *There is a level called AfterCataBath by Zimnyte, a fusion of aftermath, Cataclysm and Bloodbath in a single level. Formerly, the level (AfterCataBath) was considered nearly impossible due to the sheer endurance required to beat it and was hacked to be verified with an object count exceeding the limit. **There is a buffed remake of AfterCataBath called Apocalyptic Trilogy. *Only Satcho's legitimately verified copy of aftermath was rated. Being the same as Gonchus' slightly buffed version, the only differences were a low detail mode for the object-heavy final section added and the text 'Congratulations. This is the end... of the Trilogy...' added at the end. *The original level by Exenity now has a secret way with a UFO, a teleportation portal and a triple-speed portal. *There is a Hard Demon with the same name created by ZenthicAlpha. *On 30 August 2016, Gonchus beat aftermath, apparently becoming the first player to do it legitimately. *knobbelboy has made a redesigned version called Armageddon. It was eventually lost after knobbelboy got a new computer. **The name was reused for his Cataclysm remake in tribute to it. *There was a secret update that did not change any base gameplay or decoration but added a pixelated troll face at the end of the level. It has since been removed now that aftermath is on Exenity's account. *One of the worst fails belongs to npesta, who crashed at the last spike of the mini-ship at 95% (now 98%). He said that he died there because 'his hand stopped working', which was not true, as he did that on purpose. *The unnerfed version of aftermath called Arcane Ademption was verified by Butterfish on 10 October 2021. *aftermath is the only level in the 'Apocalyptic Trilogy' that was never a Top 1 Demon. *There is a joke level called Math, a nerfed and redecorated version of aftermath with a decoration theme of mathematics. *aftermath was moved to Exenity's account on 21 March 2022, seemingly out of nowhere, after being on Satcho's account since its upload. *On 15 December 2021, an update to aftermath was verified by DaMeister. This update mainly included layering fixes and the removal of the LDM. *It would take until 14 April 2022 for aftermath to be updated and moved to Exenity's account, ultimately replacing Satcho's version. *The unrated Extreme Demon, ReincarnatioN, was meant to replace aftermath when it was being built in 2016; however, its development process would cease until 2021/2022, when it was finally finished and verified by GMDomy. *aftermath is commonly deemed by the communtiy to be the worst of the three levels in The Apocalyptic Trilogy. *The placement of Surge of the Shield on 6 July 2020 pushed aftermath into the Legacy List of the Demonlist. ==Videos== ==References== <references />
