Like most of KrmaL's Demons, Black Blizzard features numerous difficult timings and segments of extreme difficulty. The level features dark decorations and effects that often obstruct the player's view. Towards the drop, the orbs are straight black. It makes the player oblivious to each orb's function, forcing them to memorise them. Black Blizzard received generally positive reviews for its innovative decoration, gameplay, and syncing, but criticism for buggy gameplay and a much more difficult pre-drop than the rest of the level. ==Description== Black Blizzard begins with a half-speed mini-cube section featuring minimal dark decorations and numerous difficult timings. The gameplay is primarily based around orbs, although a few jumps come into play. Halfway through, there is the famous 'staircase'. If the player mistimes the first jump, they will die near the top. The end of the segment features a short auto section as the player transitions into the next part. Many of the jumps in this section are frame-perfect, often deemed RNG. Next, the player enters a tricky, normal-sized cube section. Like the previous one, this part features numerous 'buggy' orb timings and contains fog and lines flying across the screen. Two moving crosshairs jump from orb to orb throughout the part. Most orbs that the crosshairs jump to have small sawblades inside that can kill the player if hit too late. There are also a couple of orb pairs that must be double-clicked. Two sets of triple-spikes are placed at the end of the part. The screen then turns black, displaying the level's name, signalling the drop. Despite being the first sections of the level, the first cube parts are considered by some to be the hardest parts. The drop part starts with a triple-speed UFO segment with several gravity changes and some spam. It then switches to the ball, which contains many extreme timings. The ship comes next, with some straight-flying and green orbs to hit. The first half of the drop ends with a cube featuring even more constant gravity changes, followed by a yellow pad to transition into the second half of the drop. Some also consider this next segment to be the hardest part of the level. It features intricate asymmetrical dual segments: first, a mini-wave/UFO mixed dual at the beginning, and then a mini-ship/mini-ball mixed dual, which is notably the most inconsistent part of the drop. A cube/robot mixed dual comes next, which is not quite as hard as the two previous dual segments but still has numerous difficult timings. A cube sequence is presented right before the transition towards the final segment with even more insane timings. The final segment is at half-speed and requires the player to navigate as a ship and a wave, in both forms of size and gravity, through tight, claustrophobic sections with an occasional darkening screen. It lasts about 20 seconds before the level ends. At the end screen, the random lines spell 'Krazy', a reference to the creator's former name, KrazyMan50. ==Gameplay== wRn08FiJWu0 ==Trivia== *Black Blizzard was initially placed at #9 on the Demonlist on 27 May 2017, above Bloodbath and below The Hell World. **This addition pushed Matilda the Machine into the Legacy List. *Black Blizzard was ranked #10 in GDToday's '100 Greatest Levels of All Time' list. *Bradenbowl was the first player to beat Black Blizzard on mobile in 78,476 attempts on 14 June 2020. **It also makes him the first to beat Black Blizzard on both PC and mobile. **Bradenbowl also created and verified an invisible version of Black Blizzard on 9 December 2020 titled Blind Blizzard. *The phrase 'black blizzard' is also a term for a dust storm. Like the level, these storms can drastically reduce vision. A notable event regarding this phenomenon is the Dust Bowl of the 1930s, which sparked mass panic over the dust's potential to get into a person's lungs and cause 'dust pneumonia'. **However, Black Blizzard's theme does not relate to this fact. *Black Blizzard inspired three Extreme Demon levels: **crohn44 created a standalone level known as Sunset Sandstorm, taking heavy inspiration from Black Blizzard's gameplay and theme. **neigefeu created a level inspired by both Black Blizzard and Sunset Sandstorm, called RUST, with a theme of old, rusty machinery. Keir verified the level and is currently neigefeu's hardest-created level. **notGed, inspired by crohn44, also created a level named Snowfall Storm. However, the level shares more similarities with Black Blizzard, notably with its background and dual mode. *KrmaL used to permanently ban people from his Twitch stream if they tried to reveal Black Blizzard's song, as he did not want it to become overused like Time Leaper by Hinkik. **This occurrence, in turn, is also why some people jokingly call the song '<message deleted>', which represents text that replaces a viewer's message when they get timed out in Twitch chat. *It took KrmaL over 75,000 attempts to verify Black Blizzard. **GMD_LEoN followed on 17 December 2020, along with Hilo beating Black Blizzard on mobile on 14 February 2021. ***Bigthunder556 also beat Black Blizzard on mobile on 2 June 2024, over four years after failing at 96%. *Black Blizzard is TrusTa's least favourite Extreme Demon and npesta's favourite 'serious' Extreme Demon. *There is a buffed remake of Black Blizzard called Dark Dimension. *XDGamer69's completion of Black Blizzard set the record for the highest heart rate achieved on an Extreme Demon, at 207 BPM. **It is likely because XDGamer69 is a child, and he jumped from Diligence to Black Blizzard. *Black Blizzard was originally going to be in EricVanWilderman's 12 Demons of Christmas 2022 Community series, as Demon #12. However, because he could not complete it in time, it was replaced by Hyper Space by LazerBlitz. **Black Blizzard would later be beaten by Brandon Larkin in the 12 Demons of Christmas 2023 Community series, as Demon #10. *Black Blizzard was bugged and impossible due to the physics in Update 2.2. It was later fixed. *The placement of Shutdown on 28 March 2022 pushed Black Blizzard into the Legacy List of the Demonlist. ==Videos== ==References== <references />
