Shukketsu takes a different approach to the kowareta-inspired formula by adding colourful yet desaturated visuals, a style considered by some creators as 'art-core', along with a groovy breakbeat song. The level also features a slight garden theme and is flooded with community inside jokes and memes. An official sequel, Kaikatsu, is under development. ==History== Shukketsu began as a layout created by Gablor (then Shuri) as an attempt at an 'impossible' level, which Gablor cancelled and made public. Madison Yuko picked up the project and decorated the level. Shukketsu's first version was released on 24 January 2020 and set to be verified by Gablor. After getting the motivation from participating in Fragile, Yuko began to remake the level in early 2021, altering some of the gameplay and adding duke, LexyCat and Zentraa to the project. The level was finished and showcased on 17 September 2021. The level was set to be verified by lamp86, but they dropped it, and it was given to Baeru, who verified it on 3 April 2022 after around 20,000 attempts. ==Description== The gameplay of Shukketsu was made by Gablor. *0-7% (duke): duke's part in Shukketsu consists of fast cube timings with many orbs to hit, including dash orbs to hold down on. Around 4%, the player becomes a mini-ship and must carefully fly between spikes with help from a yellow orb and a yellow gravity portal. *7-29% (Madison Yuko): Madison Yuko's first part in the level mainly consists of cube timings with some ball timings and ship sections with orbs scattered throughout. The player's speed changes slightly, and they occasionally go through teleport portals. At 27%, the gameplay speeds up to triple speed as the level title screen appears in a digital-themed font with a glitchy aesthetic. *29-45% (Madison Yuko): During this part, the gameplay is much faster than the previous part, mostly at triple- or quadruple-speed. The gameplay consists of fast timings with constant game-mode changes between cube, ship, ball, and wave. Cube and ball timings are basic, while ship sections are short straight-flying segments, often with orbs. The tight wave sections at 29-30%, 33%, 40-41% and 43-44% are full of gravity portals and blue orbs. The final wave section from 43-44% slows the gameplay substantially as the player prepares to enter the following dual segment. *45-53% (Madison Yuko): Yuko's third part in the level begins with a short ship and mini-cube-dual, with a ship above the mini-cube. After the dual, a tight wave section begins at 47% and ends at 48%. There are some cube timings before another tight wave section at 51%. *53-61% (Madison Yuko): The gameplay continues from the previous part with a tight ship straight-fly through a Clubstep Monster made of the structure of the level. After some cube and ball timings and a straight-fly, a UFO section begins at 57%, where the player must make precise timings to pass through a few gravity portals. At 58%, the player enters a tight mini-wave section, with some controlled spam through slanted structures. Yuko's part ends after a brief cube dual and some cube timings. *61-78% (LexyCat): LexyCat's part in the level is fast and consists of ship and cube timings leading into teleport portals. The ship sections are full of orbs to hit and short straight-fly segments. The ship section at 73% is full of black orbs that must be avoided. A ball section follows this ship part before some slow cube timings. *78-82% (Madison Yuko): This part by Yuko is brief, as it is only one tight wave section. This wave section has many changes in gravity and size, and it is deceptively tight. *82-92% (Zentraa): Zentraa's part is full of structures resembling the moving parts of a clock. The part begins with a ship section, leading into a long mini-UFO section with many gravity portals and several orbs. At 87%, the player enters a brief ship straight-fly segment, followed by some cube and wave timings. At 92%, the player enters a brief spider section. *92-100% (Madison Yuko): The final part of the level begins with a straight-fly through a corridor filled with spikes before entering a wave section at 95%. At 97%, the player must straight-fly as a ship through a tight spike-lined corridor to complete the level. The end screen features the level's name atop a bed of flowers, with a purplish-blue sky in the background. ==Gameplay== KKogZaw8jDM ==First 10 victors== {| class="wikitable" !Victor # !Player !Date Completed !Total Attempts !Furthest Fail !Video |- |Verifier |Baeru |3 April 2022 |~20,000 |93% |YouTube |- |1 |Kaza |14 April 2022 |~15,000 |94% |YouTube |- |2 |Jori |16 April 2022 |17,630 |97% |YouTube |- |3 |Johnfree |23 April 2022 |20,055 |89% |YouTube |- |4 |TheTerrBonnie |12 May 2022 |28,795 |98% |YouTube |- |5 |SnowBallerr |9 August 2022 |16,878 |81% |YouTube |- |6 |Emiliano56 |26 August 2022 |6,978 |95% |YouTube |- |7 |nei |10 September 2022 |31,566 |97% |YouTube |- |8 |kloone |22 September 2022 |16,662 |95% |YouTube |- |9 |DiamondSplash |27 October 2022 |27,920 |89% |YouTube |- |10 |Squinset |30 October 2022 |32,349 |97% |YouTube |} ==Trivia== *Shukketsu was placed at #19 on the Demonlist on 27 August 2022, above Keres and below Kenos. **This addition pushed Crimson Planet out of the Top 25, Sonic Wave Rebirth into the Extended List, and Quantum Dynamix into the Legacy List. *Shukketsu (εΊθ‘) translates to 'bleeding' in Japanese. *Shukketsu's replacement song was the original 'Calm Loop' by jding, but it was changed as 'Calm Loop' is only three seconds long. *Madison Yuko initially planned to have Shukketsu's decoration be a mash-up of all the kowareta sequels and spin-offs, especially be heavily based on kowareta's official sequel, shibereta, but she discarded that idea. *Popular YouTube content creator Wulzy released a video on 1 August 2022 called 'Why is this Extreme Demon STILL UNRATED?' which showcased Shukketsu to get the level's attention. Shukketsu was rated less than two days after the video was released, leading many to believe the video caused the level's rating. *Victors of Shukketsu, such as Kaza and Johnfree, describe the gameplay as challenging to learn but enjoyable afterwards. *Shukketsu is filled with references, with some easy to understand, while others are obscure. **Dedications to other players are spread throughout the level, hidden in the block design. **'Facil Dinero!' (meaning 'Easy Money' in Spanish) at the beginning of the level references kowareta, as the same text appears at the end of that level. **The pyramid with eight keys surrounding it is a reference to MindCap and the final part of LIMBO. **'360fps Startpos 0% Texture pack No wave pulse LDM' are names of several external hacks, including the in-game Low Detail Mode. cobrablitz's name appearing in the text may be a jab at him, as he is known in the community as a major critic of hacks that players use to complete levels. **'SUB 2 CALLIOPE' references the virtual YouTuber Mori Calliope. **'guys omg its another kowareta level no way' is a joke about how many players in the community are tired of kowareta-inspired levels and dismiss them. **'Sonic Wave #120' is a reference to Sonic Wave's low placement on the Demonlist at the time. **'Stop Buffing Anemesis' references Anemesis and how many times the level received buff-updates. **'Phantom Ensemble is Baller' references to 'Phantom Ensemble', a song from Touhou. **'Help I've been watching Ironmouse for 12 hours straight' references the virtual YouTuber Ironmouse. **'Rate Quicksand' references the currently-unrated Extreme Demon Quicksand. **'Hardest Check!' references the phrase used in the community when a player claims a level's difficulty beyond their skill level. This phrase is a joke about how their hardest level completed is way easier than the level they are talking about, meaning they cannot properly judge the level's difficulty. **'Object 100,000' points to the 100,000th object placed in the level. **'and she said!!' may reference the lyrics of 'xo' by eden, a popular song in the community due to xo. **'Cristiano Ronaldo' references the famous soccer player of the same name. **'Hey mr. white What is it jesse Hello Heisenberg' references several characters from Breaking Bad. *The placement of Defeated Circles on 26 October 2025 pushed Shukketsu into the Extended List of the Demonlist. **The placement of Dualist on 20 April 2026 pushed Shukketsu out of the Top 100. ==Videos== ==References== <references />
