Level sequence

boogie is a 2.2 Easy level by connot, published on 1 February 2025. The level is primarily themed around TikTok and YouTube Shorts edits. It is the 11th level of the NoCopyrightSounds x Geometry Dash album and the 11th Event Level.

Description

[edit | edit source]

boogie is a very lighthearted, cutesy level featuring many anime pop culture references. The level features very free and open gameplay, as well as multiple auto sections with animations very similar to video edits one would find on social media apps.

  • A cube section taking place on a beach that later becomes a robot from 0-22%.
  • An auto section featuring animations of an FPS montage, Minecraft parkour, the player attacking a cat in a game that looks like Terraria, a Geometry Dash stream, pinball, a shoot 'em up, a Discord chat and an anime girl dancing from 23-46%.
  • A cube section with a style reminiscent of a notebook and colours that appear to the beat from 47-58%.
  • A ball section inside a house before the player gets sucked up into a hole from 59-70%.
  • Another auto section, this time featuring animations of a character as a sphere spinning around, an anime girl dancing, Hatsune Miku doing poses, and three anime characters who show up on the beat from 71-86%.
  • A wave section in space that features Nyan Cat from 87-100%.

Trivia

[edit | edit source]
  • boogie uses one song and 32 sound effects (SFXs).
  • boogie was nominated for Best Beginner Classic in The Geometry Dash Awards 2025; it went on to place first.
  • boogie's description refers to the level as 'bussin for girls'.
  • boogie is connot's second Legendary level, after BUSSIN.
  • The wave that can be obtained from typing 'boogie' into the Secret Room can be seen framed on the wall during the house section, hinting at its obtainment.
  • The song itself was released on 30 April 2024, nine months before the level was even published.
  • boogie was the first Easy-rated level to be an Event Level, and remains the easiest of all Event Levels.
  • Alongside Duckstep and Skyline Pt II, the poster of boogie was covered in the preview version of BUTTON MASHER.
    • In the actual video of BUTTON MASHER from the official NonCopyrightSounds YouTube channel, the poster is set on fire.
  • The wave that the player obtains by typing the code 'boogie' in the Secret Room appears in the level as a drawing in the ball section.

References to other media

(This section may be incomplete)

  • First auto:
  • Notebook:
  • House:
    • Out the window, Osage-chan (an original character by artist Nukunuku Nigirimeshi) can be seen jumping. This is specifically a reference to the song 'Lagtrain' by Inabakumori, which she is featured in.
  • Ending:
    • Osaka from Azumanga Daioh appears as a sphere.
    • The character posing is the avatar of VTuber RinRinne.
    • Nyan cat is at the end.
  • Throughout the level:
    • There are multiple references to Bocchi the Rock!, including the pinball part where Hitori Goto is the ball, the dancing girl in the first auto part, whose name is Ikoyu Kita, and the final auto part featuring the characters Nijika Ijichi, Ryo Yamada, and Hitori Goto.
    • Hatsune Miku is seen multiple times, being in the streamer section (which itself is inspired by this animation by channelcaststation), in the background of the Discord section and posing in the second auto section (which is also inspired by that animation).
