*On 16 June 2017, Viprin tweeted some images of early concept art for Geometry Dash.<ref>https://twitter.com/vipringd/status/875738661316329473</ref> The third picture shows a hexagon-styled gear saw blade, which was early concept art for 1.8, probably tying into the 6-sided theme of the update.
*The ball form had its attributes modified such that an overhead collision with a surface when propelled by a jump pad or ring would no longer result in a crash and instead the ball would safely bump off.
*This update has a small tweak to ball physics where the player no longer dies if they hit a ceiling with a pad or orb and instead acts like there's an H block there.
 
*The sneak peek for this update doesn't include the first secret coin, which, in the final version, is located in the first ball sequence.
