Lightout is a 2.0/2.1 Harder level by emiliax. It is the second level of the Dash Pack. However, with just those features, Emiliax only made things worse. After subsequent updates, Emiliax's designs steadily deteriorated, and he gradually abandoned the game. Lightout is left with a terrible, mismatched aesthetic.

People constantly complain about this level in the comments, calling it 'the worst Map Pack level', but the situation remains unchanged. Furthermore, this level was the first to appear as a Map Pack level with custom music from Newgrounds.

Description

[edit | edit source]

Lightout begins with a cube sequence that involves jumping over a sawblade and then leaping across pillars with traps on them. They must then hit orbs and jump over the pillars until they transform into a ship. The transition is not too difficult; the player needs to make a light input for the ship to take off. Then the player must fly along the pillars and simultaneously return to a cube.

Afterwards, the player must jump onto the pillars and hit orbs. It is essential to time the orbs correctly, as it is tricky. Next, the player enters a UFO sequence where they must choose the correct route: first the upper blocks, then the invisible ones.

Next, a wave sequence with the same invisible blocks. Then comes a cube sequence, which is difficult because it requires memorizing where to jump, land, and hit the orbs. After that is a ball sequence that requires changing gravity, and then the player must hit orbs and travel through a brief auto sequence. Finally, the player enters a mini-ship sequence that involves avoiding the creator's name made of blocks separated by letters. The level ends by displaying the text 'YouTube: TheEmiliax' (even though the creator does not currently have a YouTube channel).

User coins

[edit | edit source]

Lightout contains three unverified user coins.

  • The first coin is located at 26%. As a cube, the player must not get off the block at 25% but jump on the spike and continue through invisible blocks to reach the coin.
  • The second coin is located at 50% and requires passing through a fake structure below as a wave to collect it.
  • The third and final coin is located at 97% and requires flying above the letter 'A' as a mini-ship.
