Not to be confused with Arcturus by Team Proxima, or Arcturus (Player).
Arcturus is an upcoming Extreme Demon created entirely by Maxfs and set to be verified by UltracauaHD. The level began as an impossible level with many frame-perfect wave timings and cube jumps, and it is known to be possibly harder than the original version of Silent Circles. After the level sparked the interest of several players, Maxfs decided to create a possible version which is set to be Top 1 on the Geometry Dash Demonlist, although it has competition against Misanthrope, Galaxy Collapse, The Eternal Night, Firework, Silent Circles, Avernus, Acheron, and Abyss of Darkness, all of which claim to be the hardest level in the game. UltracauaHD currently has the best run of 31-100%.
Gameplay
The level begins with a brief auto cube segment, where the player is thrown around multiple times by a few gravity portals. Afterward, the player becomes mini-sized and they must jump over a quadruple-spike which leads into a fairly difficult pink orb timing. Then, after hitting a blue pad (which is instantly followed by a blue orb), the player must hit a yellow orb and jump over another quadruple-spike. Next, the player needs to fall onto a blue orb which leads into a normal-gravity portal that contains a blue orb inside of it. Once again, the player now must jump over a quadruple-spike. This quadruple-spike is followed by a blue pad which is then followed by a blue orb that leads into a normal-gravity portal. Now, the player needs to jump into a yellow pad which is proceeded by another quadruple-spike jump and a black orb inside of an anti-gravity portal. This leads into the final quadruple-spike of the first cube section, a considerably difficult dash orb timing, and a ship that contains a straight fly and four trigger orbs.
Afterward, the level becomes auto for around three seconds. However, directly after the auto section, the drop appears. This section contains two double-speed waves in the same gravity (similar to 76% in Bausha Vortex) and they must traverse through some exceptionally tight spaces. Around 26%, the wave section accelerates up to triple-speed, making it even harder to traverse through. However, at 30%, it decelerates back to double-speed. Now, the size of the wave switches over to mini-sized and the dual-factor is erased. Despite the dual-factor being erased, it could be argued that this section is significantly more confusing than the dual section. This is due to the fact that this section contains many more gravity portals in unexpected positions. Plus, the space that the player must go through is abnormally tight. Similar to the previous section, the section becomes triple-speed mid-way through and then returns to double-speed afterward.
Then, the level accelerates back up to quadruple-speed and the game mode is now mini-ship. The part instantly starts with an excessively tight straight-fly that ends off with a red orb that leads into a yellow portal. Directly after releasing the click, the player must hold a click until they reach a normal-gravity portal with a black orb inside of it. Next, the player needs to precisely straight fly through two Clubstep-monsters, both being in a different gravity. After the second Clubstep-monster, the player must traverse through a slightly longer corridor which ends off with a yellow orb. The yellow orb leads into a considerably tight corridor where the player simply needs to fly upwards and downwards. The corridor ends off with a black orb and the black orb is proceeded by an automatic segment. Then, the player must straight-fly while constantly being flipped upside-down and right-side-up and being teleported upwards and downwards. This goes on for about four seconds before the speed decelerates down to triple-speed and the player must straight-fly through a Clubstep-monster and then proceed to hit four trigger orbs.
The screen proceeds to become dark for around three seconds before the player is thrown into a slower ship segment. The player now needs to traverse in a constant upwards and downwards motion until a beat in the song appears, in which the player must hit a yellow orb inside of a yellow portal. This leads to a one-block increment where the player now must precisely fly up and down. This ends off with a normal-gravity portal on top of a black orb. Once again, the player must fly through an incredibly tight Clubstep-monster and then proceed to become upside-down once again. Then, the previous 3% happens once again. Finally, the game mode switches over to a wave. The following wave section is fairly similar to the mini-wave segment at 32% (because this wave section contains many gravity portals and a speed change, just like the mini-wave at 32%), however, this section is much less precise. The level finally ends off with a brief dual-ship straight fly (containing a fake yellow orb), and a tight upside-down mini-ship straight fly.
Trivia
- This level is 56 seconds in length.
- "Arcturus" in astronomy is the brightest star in the constellation of Boötes and the 4th brightest star in the night sky.[1]
- Arcturus is assosiated with 2 different greek myths, one of them is linked with Boötes and Ursa Major, the constellations represent Arcas and Callisto. Arcas was the son of Zeus and Callisto, a nymph and follower of the goddess Artemis.
