Diamonds For Dashers (abbreviated to DFD) is a 2.2 Extreme Demon platformer level by yunotyou, verified by nng on 11 May 2025.[1] It is the hardest-rated platformer level.
Description
Intro
Diamonds For Dashers begins with a short cutscene of diamonds falling slowly. Then a silhouette of the player standing on a platform labelled 'DFD' can be seen, along with a sign that reads 'press any key'. Pressing a key leads to three options:
- Play from Zero - This option starts the level.
- Startpos Practice - This option allows the player to start at specific sections of the level for practising.
- More - Like a settings tab, has options for turning off voice lines and viewing credits.
When pressing Play from Zero, the player's eyes light up, and a cutscene starts. These quotes appear:
- Robot 58: 'Hey, the diamonds are somewhere on this island, right?'
- Ball 45: 'Indubitably!'
- Cube: 'Alright, let's do it then!'
- Swing 30: 'Yes, and remember we only got time until morning to complete this mission.'
First half
- Zero: The level begins with the player required to hit four orbs to reach a higher platform. Then the player must slope boost off a tree once to hit a toggle orb and deactivate a laser.
- Laser 2: Continue by hitting a few more dash orbs accompanied by another toggle orb. At the end of this section are four dash orbs protected by nearby pink orbs that the player must avoid hitting.
- Palm Tree: Then, use a pink orb to reach a platform with a falling mini-spike jump. After the jump, use the gravity portal and a green orb to reach a dash orb that leads to two more orbs, a pad, and a toggle orb.
- Lifebuoy: The player lands upside down with a green orb, then they have to double-click the next green orb to jump to another orb chain. This section ends with a triple-spike jump boosted by a dash orb.
- Laser 4: Start with a falling wraparound into a toggle orb, then use the blue pad to go up to hit two orbs and another toggle orb. Weave in between spikes using two more blue orbs to finish this section.
- Fish: Fall and wrap around to the gravity portals below the platform to reach a dash orb, which launches the player to a blue orb. Then hit the pink orb first, then the yellow and green orbs. Needle on the spike indicated by the arrow, and hit the dash orb to enter the second half.
Finishing the first half prompts a cutscene to appear with these quotes:
- Robot 58: 'Good move, dude! Looks like we made it to the beach!'
- Cube: 'This is it. It's been a long time coming, guys..'
- Ball 45: 'Focus. This upcoming section looks like a job for you, robot.'
- Robot 58: 'Fo sho! It's not a problem at all!'
- Swing 30: 'Okay, you gotta hurry! It looks like the sun's starting to rise already.'
Second half
- Cave: The player is now a robot and must do two simple jumps before hitting a dash orb and jumping into the green portals. Then there are four tight jumps to get across before hitting a toggle orb. The player must complete the four tight jumps and blue orbs again as they exit the cave. Get up to higher ground with the red orb and use the green and dash orb to switch your gravity around the spikes.
- Precision: Do a tight wraparound, and jump to the blue orb and hit it very late. Hit the red orb that also has a toggle orb inside of it to reach a gravity portal, restoring the player's gravity. Do four simple edge jumps, with the first one being indicated by an arrow, to end this section.
- Survival: Drop down to a little chamber where spikes enclose the player. Seven rotating blue pads appear, and the player must jump over them 25 times to escape the chamber.
- Nai: The hardest part of the level. Let the robot jump high before going right to the cube portal to get over all of the spikes. Then, needle on the spike with the arrow pointing to it, and keep holding on a mini-spike and be prepared to hit the dash orb. After hitting the dash orb, jump and hit four very tight orbs, and finally hold the dash orb to beat the level.
Ending
The final cutscene is similar to the cutscene before playing from Zero. These quotes appear:
- Swing 30: 'I can't believe it! We did it!!'
- Robot 58: 'That's it man! We're set for life! Look at all these!'
Then the end screen appears with the level's name, Cube and Robot 58 behind a GG sign, and text saying 'I don't want this anymore, but we're not gonna forfeit through me'.
