Alphabet X is a 1.6 Insane Demon level by Play 1107696 (BlackP2sFull in-game), published on 10 April 2014. The level features numerous fake paths and traps. It also features many tight spaces in UFO and ship sequences. Due to a huge number of traps, memorisation is crucial.
Alphabet X was notorious for being one of the hardest levels in the game, as well as once being deemed impossible, before being verified by Zobros on 9 May 2015.[1] Alphabet X was created as part of the Alphabet Series, a project hosted by GW Inke consisting of 29 levels ranging from Alphabet A to Alphabet Z.[2]
Description
[edit | edit source]Alphabet X revolves mainly around mazes, in particular featuring three large maze sections with invisible blocks, pads, and orbs for the player to traverse. There are extremely tight sections with straight-flying and orb timings, requiring precise inputs to pass obstacles.
- 0-7%: Alphabet X begins with a cube sequence, involving tight jumps and invisible triple-spike jumps.
- 7-13%: Afterwards, the player enters a memorisation-based mini-cube sequence. The blocks used are similar to those in the background, making it necessary to practise memorising the correct inputs.
- 13-24%: The player transitions into a mini-ship sequence, featuring a large number of tight spaces to fly through, as well as a bit of fake paths.
- 24-29%: Next up is another cube sequence, consisting of primarily fading blocks and many fading sawblades, as well as several triple-spikes, the last one requiring a specific timing to jump over it.
- 29-37%: Then, the player transitions into a tricky ball sequence that involves precise inputs at the very beginning and a few more fake paths, including one similar to the one found in Clubstep.
- 37-44%: Next, the player enters another memory-based cube sequence, which uses invisible blocks as opposed to blocks that are the same colour as the background. It switches back to a normal cube sequence halfway through, one that features a couple of traps and a precise input at the end.
- 44-48%: Afterwards, the player enters a UFO sequence, which is not too difficult and only contains a couple of fairly tight spaces.
- 48-55%: Then, the player enters a tricky ship sequence involving flying through several copy-pasted structures (sometimes literally). Some of the structures that the player may seem to be able to fly through are actually traps, however.
- 55-62%: Next, the player enters another difficult mini-UFO sequence that contains numerous tight spaces and a handful of fake paths. One of the correct paths leads the player close to a blue orb, which may cause the player to switch gravity unintentionally.
- 62-67%: Afterwards, the player enters yet another mini-ship sequence that relies exclusively on tight spaces for its sheer difficulty.
- 67-80%: Then, the player transitions into one final memory cube sequence, one that involves numerous fading blocks and a large amount of misleading orbs.
- 80-92%: Afterwards, the player enters a tricky mini-ball sequence. This one involves a few precise inputs and a couple of fake paths.
- 92-100%: Finally, the player transitions into one final mini-ship sequence, which requires flying through tight spaces formed by structures resembling the letter 'X', possibly referencing the level's name.

[edit | edit source]Trivia
[edit | edit source]- Alphabet X was previously free to copy; however, the level later got updated by removing the 'sakujes' text at the first ship sequence. The update made the level uncopyable, barring copies from being made without the use of external tools.
- In an early version of the Demon List, created by iFresternoch in March 2015, Alphabet X was at one point placed at #2, being declared to be harder than Cataclysm, but easier than ICE Carbon Diablo X.

- Zobros fluked Alphabet X from 63%.
