Geometry Dash Lite introductions
On 12th August 2014, Geometry Dash Lite was updated to 1.8 with the following:
- New level "Jumper"!
- New achievements and rewards!
- Bug fixes and tweaks.
Trivia
- The sneak-peek left out and added much stuff from the final version of Hexagon Force.
- A bit before the 2X speed ship, under the fake jump with the invisible spike there were the center pieces of the tileset that is mainly used in that part. However, for some reason, RobTop removed it.
- Just before the end of the video, you can see that the part after the video starts to fade to black was very different. In addition, the positions of some blocks and spikes looked a little messier in the final level.
- In the first image, there is a slope on the left that was slightly modified before it was added to the game. In the game, it no longer has the vertical line splitting it into two. This vertical line, however, is still seen in the invisible variant of the slope.
- On June 16, 2017, Viprin tweeted some images of early concept art for Geometry Dash.[1] The third picture shows a hexagon-styled gear saw blade, which was early concept art for 1.8, probably tying into the 6-sided theme of the update.
- This update has a small tweak to ball physics where the player no longer dies if they hit a ceiling with a pad or orb and instead acts like there's an H block there.
- The sneak peek for this update doesn't include the first secret coin, which, in the final version, is located in the first ball sequence.
- The Blocks in this update originally had outlines in the 1.8 Beta Build, but it was scrapped for unknown reasons.
- 1.8 had 3 editor buttons: Copy and Paste, Edit Object, and Deselect. The deselect button is the first editor button which isn't colored pink. It also marks the point where Deselect, and the Zoom buttons were made into their own buttons instead of being tucked away in the bottom right corner, like the 7 prior updates.
