Sunshine is a 2.1 Harder level by Unzor, published on 24 June 2019. It is a very cutesy level themed around summertime that uses pastel colours.
Description
Sunshine's main feature is a sun character that appears in the background of the level, bopping its head to the rhythm of the song. Another character, a moon character with cat-like ears appears in the middle of the level.
- 0-16%: The level begins with a slow mini robot sequence requiring simple orb clicks and robot jumps to pass, and the titular sun in the background. The level suddenly darkens before the player transforms into a mini cube. The player must make more simple orb and cube clicks before hitting a dash orb that leads into a transition with blue pads, before the section ends off with 2 green orbs and a dash orb.
- 17-35%: A cube section in normal mode is next, featuring mostly orb clicks. The level suddenly turns pitch black but quickly regains its color, as the player enters a ship sequence with simple flying and a gravity switch. There is a short transition where the player becomes a mini cube and falls into a ship portal below that is very open. The sun is also replaced with a popsicle.
- 35-52%: A slow cube section follows, featuring very easy jumps and orb clicks, while the moon can be seen sleeping in the background. This leads into a spider section, and the moon wakes up, smiling at the player. Passing the spider leads into an auto section as the moon does a "˃ ᵕ ˂" face.
- 53-75%: This section starts off with a cube part as the sun reappears in the background. This part can be a little tricky due to the speed. After an green orb and a jump, the player must jump into 3 gravity portals on the ceiling and floor which may be a little awkward to time properly. Following this is 3 pink orbs that lead into a somewhat challenging but short ship part reminiscent to the ship from Cycles, in which the screen darkens. After this, the colors return and there is more cube gameplay that is a lot easier than the first, ending off with an easy ball part, where the screen darkens again.
- 76-100%: The colors return, and the final section begins with two easy spider clicks, and some jumps on small platforms with a diamond on them. This player briefly becomes mini, leading into a sequence of 4 green orbs. Following this, the player hits a dash orb into a jump pad and becomes regular size again. The same gravity portal setup from earlier appears again, leading into some more orb clicks. The player becomes mini once again and must platform on more of the diamond blocks, before the level ends as the screen turns pitch black.
User coins
Sunshine contains three user coins, two of which utilise custom collectables that use the player's colours.
- The first coin is obtained by collecting three collectables in the first section:
- The first is located above at 3%, requiring the player to skip the second green orb. Doing this causes a spike to retract, creating a path that requires some robot jumps to get the first collectable and return to the main route.
- The second is located below at 10%, requiring the player to fall after hitting the second blue orb. Once collected, a teleport portal appears, returning the player to the main route.
- The third and final collectable is located at 13%. After a series of blue pads, the player must immediately skip the yellow orb, then fall to a structure with the collectable. A block on the main route lowers for the player to return to the route.
- If all three collectables for the first coin are obtained, the coin will appear in the path of the dash orb at 16%. The sun also blows a kiss if the coin is obtained.
- The second coin is obtained by collecting two more collectables:
- The first is located below at 19%. It is obtained by skipping the first green orb. Doing so causes spikes to retract, revealing the first collectable on a platform below the second green orb.
- The second is located above at 23%. The player must skip a green orb and land on a green platform overhead with the collectable.
- If both collectables for the second coin are obtained, the coin will slide in from above the aforementioned green platform, just before another platform containing three blue pads. Similar to the first coin, it cannot be skipped without crashing.
- The third and final coin is located at 86%. As the cube, the player must skip the third green orb in a sequence of four beginning at 85%. Doing so drops the player onto a semi-transparent platform below, containing the coin and a red pad. Once the coin is collected, a red orb appears just before the fourth green orb. It is part of the recovery onto the main path; the player must hit the red pad, then hit the red orb, and skip the green orb.
Gameplay
Trivia
- Sunshine is the fourth most-downloaded and liked Harder level.
- The three levels it trails are Shock, SLAM, and First Race, all of which are in Gauntlets.
- This instance makes Sunshine the most-downloaded and liked Harder level that is not in a Gauntlet.
- Sunshine's sequel, Moonlight, is the first level of the Love Gauntlet. As the title suggests, it focuses on the moon character from this level.
- Tessa Violet, the music artist of the original song, has officially acknowledged Sunshine. On 17 May 2026, she explained the song's backstory in a TikTok video and expressed appreciation for Unzor's use of it, as well as appreciation for Jakki's remix.[1]
- Violet would also reference the sun from Sunshine on the album cover for the official upload of the song 'Just Right' and the remix on streaming services.[2]
- Streamer IShowSpeed played Sunshine on stream and had a viral reaction where he raged at the level before aggressively and incoherently singing the lyrics to the song.[3]
- Due to its upbeat atmosphere and theming, Sunshine is sometimes jokingly referred to as the most difficult level in the game.
- Dying when the sun or moon (while it's awake) are on screen causes them to cry.
