I See Stars is a 2.2 Easy Demon collaboration level by meeloz, Thomartin, and melX0exe, published on 3 October 2024. It is the second level of the NCS II Gauntlet. I See Stars was created for the NCS Gauntlet Contest, in which it placed fifth, above Slasher and below WANNACRY.
Description
[edit | edit source]- 0-4% (Thomartin + meeloz): I See Stars begins with a green colour scheme, where the cube gets launched onto a triangle structure, which must be jumped off, followed by a yellow orb click, another jump off of a triangle structure, and a dash orb at the end. Squares can be seen ascending as decoration.
- 4-14% (Thomartin): This section begins with spider gameplay with two easy clicks that lead into a cube part where you hit a green orb, then another spider part with more clicks that leads into another cube part with blue and yellow orbs, leading into another spider part featuring many clicks into jump pads. Geometry Dash icons can be seen as decoration in this part. The section ends with some swing gameplay where you avoid gears. Bright squares appear to the music, before the level's title screen appears, reading 'ISS'.
- 14-35% (meeloz): This section begins with ship gameplay, where you avoid some crystal structures and saws. The colour scheme alternates among green, red, and purple, while stars can be seen following the player. After this, a transition occurs in which a cube is launched into some pink pads. This part features a cube sequence with some short UFO sequences in between, before ending with ball gameplay. Geometry Dash icons can be seen as particle effects moving to the right. Next, the player enters the inside of a spaceship as the ball, with some orb clicks and regular clicks, followed by a quick ship segment with a gravity switch and some triangle objects floating around. Another ball-and-ship part follows this before the screen turns white.
- 35-46% (Thomartin + melX0exe + meeloz): This section features robot gameplay while a star is consuming the level itself. Eventually, the player becomes consumed by the star, which begins pulsing to the music before it moves into the background, and the player reappears.
- 46-61% (Thomartin): The level switches to a purple colour scheme, and starts with ship gameplay where you avoid asteroids and other objects while following the trail of an unknown object. The star in the background is seen pulsing out colours to the music. This part is rather difficult because of the gravity switches and tight spaces, and requires good ship control to manoeuvre. The player then becomes a UFO as the star in the background explodes and releases more stars in a spiral pattern. The UFO part is marked with click indicators to help guide the player. The end of this section has the player become a cube while stars can be seen falling down the screen.
- 61-75% (melX0exe): The level switches style, and the player is now situated on the outskirts of a town where the sky is yellow. The gameplay starts with a yellow orb and a dash orb, leading into two pink orbs and a yellow orb, and a jump over a gear. Following this are two blue orbs, two yellow orbs, and a dash orb, while constellations can be seen between them. After the dash orb is a yellow orb, another jump over a gear, some more orb and gear jumps, and a dash orb that leads into more orb clicks. Next, the player becomes dual as the level switches to a red colour scheme. This part is mini and at quadruple speed, and has you perform quick inputs while the cubes become off-centre. This dual ends with a chain of orbs leading into a ship sequence that requires you to click green orbs quickly, all while the player is still mini and in quadruple speed. This part is quite difficult due to its placement in the level and requires good ship control to pass. This section ends with another chain of orbs.
- 75-92% (melX0exe): The level slows down as the player descends from the sky into a setting with a starry night sky and a train in the background. The player lands on a reflective surface, and the words 'I SEE STARS' can be seen spelt out with constellations in the background. There are a few easy spike jumps, but one may get tripped up due to the spikes in the foreground and background. Transparent blocks begin to appear; jump on them to avoid the spikes on the ground.
- 92-100% (melX0exe + Thomartin): The final section is robot gameplay interspersed with cube gameplay. It consists of more orbs and transparent platforms, but now yellow stars will appear in the foreground, which have platforms on them that the player must jump on. Nearing the end, the level speeds up once more before ending on a dash orb.
