Description
[edit | edit source]andromeda begins with a fast-paced section overloaded with different game-modes, where the player must navigate incredibly tight spaces with near-frame-perfect timings. At 5%, the level picks up its pace, and with already high intensity, the first music drop is added. That section is mostly gravity-based, with a lot of gravity portals and orbs scattered around. In the background, a galaxy, presumably the Andromeda Galaxy, can be seen, alongside the foreground, which shows drastically changing colours ranging from purple to gray, orange, red, and pink.
At 20%, to proceed further, the player, as a ship, must fly through a particularly tight cluster of Clubstep monsters. Another drop occurs, accompanied by a background change, in which a black hole now appears. This part of the level is even more challenging, with tighter spaces, reduced visibility, and less time for the player to react.
At 33%, a transition occurs, and the player is swiftly transformed into a wave, forced to make very difficult timing clicks. The transition ends at 37%, and now a white hole can be seen in the background. For this section, the predominant colours are dark blue, purple and gray. At 45%, the icon passes through a wave portal, and after further game-mode changes, the player reaches 52%. In that moment, the screen goes black, and at 53%, the background changes again to an empty space with purple and pink pulses.
Between 53% and 64%, the screen flashes frequently, with visuals that are visibly more intense. The platforms the player must land on and jump from are shaking up and down. At 66%, after yet another transition, a black hole emerges in the background. The screen glitches, and now every single object is moving except orbs and portals. This segment is by far the hardest part of the level.
The last 82-100% is characterized by steep, sideways platforms that the player must conquer to reach 89%. Between this and 90%, the last transition occurs, and with it, the level calms down and becomes significantly less difficult due to the reduced screen flashiness. As the player is pushed through this last section of tight and still challenging gaps, the Andromeda Galaxy can be seen once again in the background. All the visuals stop at 96%, marking the level's end.

Notable completions
Trivia
[edit | edit source]- andromeda was rated on 14 February 2025 and placed at #5 on the Demonlist on 13 March 2025, above Acheron and below Anathema.
- This addition pushed Acheron out of the Top 5, Axinie into the Extended List, Crimson Planet out of the Top 100, and Awedsy into the Legacy List.
- The level's name, andromeda, comes from a galaxy of the same name, the Andromeda Galaxy, which is the nearest major galaxy to our own, the Milky Way.
- On 1 August 2025, VERTOP achieved the mobile world record on andromeda, getting a 64-100% run.[4] He later beat the level on his computer.
- Despite its short length and rapid-paced gameplay, andromeda is considered one of the most accessible levels in the current Top 15 of the Demonlist, alongside Every End and Penumbral.
- It is due to both levels being very sightreadable, meaning they test the player's raw skill rather than relying on memory gimmicks to increase difficulty.
- The placement of Green Bullet on 26 July 2026 pushed andromeda out of the Top 15 of the Demonlist.
