I See Stars
I See Stars is a 2.2 Easy Demon level created by meeloz, Thomartin and melX0exe, and published by meeloz. It is the second level of the NCS II Gauntlet. I See Stars was created for the NCS Gauntlet Contest, in which it placed 5th, above Slasher and below WANNACRY.
Description
- 0-3% (Thomartin & meeloz): I See Stars begins starts with a green color scheme, where the cube gets launched onto a triangle structure which must be jumped off, followed by a yellow orb click, another jump off of a triangle structure and a dash orb at the end. Squares can be seen ascending as decoration.
- 4-13% (Thomartin): This section begins with spider gameplay with two easy clicks that leads into a cube part where you hit a green orb, then another spider part with more clicks that leads into another cube part with blue and yellow orbs, leading into another spider part featuring many clicks into jump pads. Geometry Dash icons can be seen as decoration in this part. The section ends off with some swing gameplay where you avoid gears. Bright squares appear to the music, before the levels title screen appears, reading "ISS".
- 14-35% (meeloz): This section begins with ship gameplay, where you avoid some crystal structures and saws. The color scheme starts switching between green, red and purple while stars can be seen following the player. After this is a transition where a cube gets launched into some pink pads. This part features a cube sequence with some short UFO sequences in between, before ending off with ball gameplay. Geometry Dash icons can be seen as a particle effect that move to the right. Next, the player enters the inside of a spaceship as the ball, with some orb clicks and regular clicks, followed by a quick ship segment with a gravity switch and some triangle objects floating around. This is followed by another ball and ship part, after which the level turns white.
- 35-45% (Thomartin, MelX0exe & meeloz): This section features robot gameplay while the level itself is being consumed by a star. Eventually, the player becomes engulfed by the star, which begins to pulse to the music, before it moves into the background and the player reappears.
- 46-60% (Thomartin): The level switches to a purple color scheme, and starts with ship gameplay where you avoid asteroids and other objects while following the trail of an unknown object. The star in the background is seen pulsing out colors to the music. This part is rather difficult because of the gravity switches and tight spaces, and requires good ship control to manouver. The player then becomes the UFO as the star in the background explodes and releases more stars in a spiral pattern. The UFO part is marked with click indicators to help guide the player. The end of this section has the player become a cube while stars can be seen falling down the screen.
- 61-75% (melX0exe): The level switches style, and the player is now situated on the outskirts of a town where the sky is yellow. The gameplay starts with a yellow and dash orb that leads into two pink orbs and a yellow orb and a jump over a gear. Following this is two blue orbs, a yellow orb and a yellow and dash orb while constellations can be seen between them. After the dash orb is a yellow orb, another jump over a gear, some more orb and gear jumps, and a dash orb that leads into more orb clicks. Next, the player becomes dual as the level switches to a red color scheme. This part is mini and 4x speed, and has you perform quick inputs while the cubes become off-centre. This dual ends with a chain of orbs leading into a ship sequence that requires you to click green orbs quickly, all while the player is still mini and in 4x speed. This part is quite difficult due to when in the level it is placed, and requires good ship control to pass. This section ends off with another chain of orbs.
75-92% (melX0exe): The level slows down as the player descends from the sky, into a setting with a starry night sky and a train in the background. The player lands on a reflective surface, and the words "I SEE STARS" can be seen spelled out with constellations in the background. There are a few easy spike jumps, but one may get tripped up due to the spikes in the foreground/background. Transparent blocks begin to appear which must be jumped on to avoid dying to the spikes on the ground. 93-100% (melX0exe & Thomartin): The final section is robot gameplay interspersed with cube gameplay. It consists of more orbs and transparent platforms, but now yellow stars will appear in the foreground which have platforms on them that the player must jump on. Nearing the end, the level speeds up once more before ending on a dash orb.
