Template:Infobox Level Jigsaw is a 2.1 Extreme Demon mega-collaboration level hosted and published by Nekon and verified by Gokill on 2 October 2023.[1] The level's primary colors are red, white, and blue. Red is used primarily for effects, while the main environment is done in light-blue and white-gray. A variety of special effects appear throughout almost the entire level: film strips, saw sparks, fire. Combined with vibrant pulses, fast gameplay, and good design, result in a truly epic visual experience, making the level highly memorable.

The idea for the level itself was based on John Kramer, the main antagonist of the Saw franchise who is otherwise known as the "Jigsaw Killer". The level itself is themed around the franchise's infamous torture rooms, featuring an intimidating atmosphere of both desolation and horror.

History

2022

The first mention of the level dates back to 19 April, around the time when Nekon began working on his new project, Jigsaw, releasing the first trailer of the level hinting at the its tentative theme - the Saw horror film franchise.[2] Just six days later, on 25 April, he revealed the full layout of the level.[3] Nekon informed that Gokill will be the one to verify the level once fully decorated. Nekon decided to decorate one section of the level himself, which he showed on his channel on 20 June,[4] but it would later be replaced by BlasterRobotz's part. On 3 December, the second trailer for the level was released, with most of the layout already decorated.[5]

2023

On 27 February, Nekon published the final trailer of Jigsaw, with him promising to do a full showcase of it soon.[6] By 30 April, the level was fully completed.[7] Nekon confirmed Gokill to be the level's verifier, and gave honours to all of his friends and people who helped him with the project of Jigsaw.

Verification

Gokill's first verification progress video was uploaded on 2 September 2023, when he achieved a record of 48%.[8] On 26 September, he improved his record to 71% with ~17,500 attempts, stating that the level's difficulty is close to this of Zodiac.[9] On 30 September, he did a 31-91% run.[10] Gokill finally verified the level on 2 October, with exactly 1 months of play, ~25,000 attempts, and two crashes at 89%.[11]

Gameplay

  • 0-10%: Jigsaw begins with a difficult cube part consisting of timing-based jumps where the player must precisely input on the orbs to pass through an otherwise narrow gap or perform precise jumps to pass through the claustrophobic gaps of the section. The texts "Prove that you're worth something" is also seen. The player then changes into a robot which utilises many of the timed jumps the previous cube part has.
  • 10-15%: The player then transitions into ship mode, during which they must pass a moderately difficult straight-fly tunnel. The text "Redefine your priorities" can be seen on the right side of the level. This is followed by a brief cube mode featuring memorisation and lastly, a timed jump where the player must jump precisely over a diagonally facing gap to avoid hitting the slopes. This is followed by a spike jump and a blue orb.
  • 16-21%: After hitting the blue orb, the player is then teleported below to switch to a wave mode. The player must immmediately hold the green dash orb to pass a very tight spike tunnel before switching to a mini robot, which primarily focuses on corner and timed jumps due to the platform being miniscule, forcing the player to carefully time their jump. The player then switches to a cube mode and must click the green orb behind it. The level's name and Jigsaw's famous quote "I want to play a game" as well as Yoonsr's name will appear before transitioning to the next section.
  • 22-31%: The drop of the song starts and the player must now undergo a series of fast-paced gameplay: starting with a cube where they must first hit the purple dash orb to gain a jump boost to switch to a UFO mode consisting of gravity changes and orb clicks before switching to cube utilising gravity changes and teleportation portals. Then, they will enter a ship part requiring slightly-bent straight-fly. The player then enters a mixed dual mode of ship and mini ball. The player must primarily focus on the ship mode as the mini ball is auto. The part then ends with a brief yet difficult spider segment.
  • 32-40%: The next segment goes in order: the player goes into a brief auto cube, then a ball mode consisting of three timed jumps, then a difficult wave mode where the player must consistently spam their inputs to traverse an otherwise tight section due to the numerous spikes and saw-blades very close around one another. The player then goes to a brief UFO mode consisting of three timed jumps, similar to the previous ball section. This is followed by a mixed dual of ball and cube. In this dual mode, the player must simply click both black and green orbs in unison before entering a brief cube and ship section. Afterwards, the player enters a UFO mode in which they must simply click two green orbs.
  • 41-49%%: The player then enters a very short robot mode with the sole purpose of jumping through a ship portal, which is followed by a continuous cycle of wave and UFO modes cycling in between a brief robot and ball mode. The screen then fades to black and a digital timer can be seen.
  • 49-56%: The player enters a short cube mode consisting of two timed orb jumps, followed by a very brief dual UFO mode, then a ball mode consisting of a black orb jump to enter an another brief cube mode. Between the two cube mode, there is a brief mini wave. After that, the player must enter a difficult wave section in order to reach a green dash orb with a cube portal. The screen fades to black to transition to the next segment. In this transition, an animated human jaw can be heard screaming before transforming into Billy the Puppet.
  • 57-65%: The screen flashes to white, followed by a difficult cube segment almost exclusively featuring orb timings then followed by a brief yet troublesome mixed dual consisting of cube and wave modes. The texts "See what I see" also can be seen. The screen then flashes into black with bli's name can be seen. Then followed again by a brief cube mode which follows the same gameplay as with the previous cube segment, then an orb-timing based UFO part, lastly a cube mode where the player must simply hold a green dash orb.
  • 66-73%: The player's cube goes at two gravity portals, transferring them to a series of difficult orb jumps. The texts "Feel what I feel" appears in the background then followed by a spam-based mini wave mode. The player then goes into a cube mode which they must pass through a tight gap by clicking two blue orbs and a red orb, sending them to a brief UFO mode.
  • 74-83%: The player must hit a purple dash orb to enter a fairly difficult mini wave part consisting of consistently spamming their input to traverse around the spiky platforms before entering a normal size portal where they must avoid a spiky slope platform to follow a short dual ship segment consisting of straight fly. The texts "Save as I save" can be seen. Afterwards, the player must enter a teleportation portal, switching to a ball mode, utilising peculiar slope timings similar to the ones in Forsaken Neon. The gravity and orbs will suddenly appear in an attempt to catch the player off-guard before ending the segment with a two timed jumps with a spider mode. An animated cutscene where the player's cube will be sent to a hallway plays to prepare for the next segment.
  • 84-91%: The final section consists of a memorisation-based wave mode where gravity portals will rotate around a circular platform to disorient the player. The text "Final test" appears before transitioning to a brief dual ball mode utilising slope jumps and orb timings. Lastly one must pass one more spam-heavy mini wave part before performing a difficult cube jump due to the texts "GAME OVER" spontaneously appearing on the screen to obstruct the player's viewpoint.
  • 91-100%: An animated end credits where the hosts and verified involved in the level is projected in a television. The texts "I see you" and "Wake up" appear on the screen before the level fades to black. The level ends with a red spiral symbol, a defining characteristic of Billy the Puppet.
