Death Corridor Z is a 1.9-2.1 Extreme Demon level by EternaswipVMAX, verified and published by Sunix on 20 October 2017.[1] It is a remake of the 1.9 impossible level of the same name by KaotikJumper, titled with a Z at the end. This version features gameplay adjustments to the original, including significant nerfs to humanly or physically impossible sections, such as the iconic drop wave and the last ball part, and was considered a contender for #1 on the Demonlist at the time of its verification.

Due to the level being deemed 'unofficial', Death Corridor Z remained unrated, allowing KugelBlitZ's and icedcave's versions to be rated instead, mainly because those were official.

On 18 January 2026, over eight years after its verification, Death Corridor Z received a star rating, becoming the first and only version of Death Corridor to be rated so far and, retrospectively, the hardest level until Bloodlust.

Description

[edit | edit source]
  • 0-5%: Death Corridor Z begins with a cube section where the player must avoid a blue orb with a slightly squished quadruple-spike and a spike pyramid structure. Next is a ship segment requiring tight manoeuvres through spike gaps, followed by a UFO segment that requires precise timings to avoid sawblades.
  • 5-9%: Following these tight ship and wave segments, the player must avoid some tight spaces along with the straight-fly.
  • 9-16%: Continuing as the ship, the player must perform straight-flying and tight manoeuvres, leading to a UFO section, requiring avoiding sawblades, followed by a wave segment with a tight corridor of spikes.
  • 16-22%: The cube section requires the player to jump over three sets of spikes, with each having a blue orb after them. The player must hit the last blue orb to enter a ball part.
  • 22-29%: The player enters a ship part where they must avoid spiked structures with faces that move close to the player, and then the player enters a wave segment and must go through tight angled spaces and pillar gaps.
  • 29-39%: At the ball and ship parts, the player must perform timings and go through a tiny maze part before a straight-fly segment, and the cube section before the drop requires the player to jump over spikes with yellow orbs on top. Afterwards, there is a blue orb spam and then gravity changes.
  • 39-46%: At the drop, the player must avoid the six tighter Clubstep monsters and then hit a few orbs as a ship.
  • 46-57%: This next segment is the most infamous part of the level, the wave-spam segment, with a few gravity changes, followed by a mini-wave segment containing tighter spaces and returning to normal size before a cube part.
  • 57-65%: The player enters a cube section consisting of five-spike jumps and a gravity portal with a blue orb inside after them. The player must precisely time the orbs in the gravity portals to pass the spikes below. Next is a UFO section that requires jumping through two wide-spiked, pillared structures and four tight, spiked pillars with gravity changes.
  • 65-68%: Afterwards, the player enters a ship segment with sloped corridors with gravity changes.
  • 68-73%: The player enters a cube section and must perform two five-spike jumps, leading to a UFO part where they must avoid sawblades and then a ship part with gravity changes.
  • 73-89%: The next part is a triple-speed wave segment where the player must go through one-block-wide gaps. Then, Kaotik's name becomes an obstacle, along with sawblades, and invisible speed changes in the sawblade section sync with the music.
  • 89-97%: In the final part, the player must perform ball spamming with gravity portals and then do a final straight-fly.
  • 97-100% (End Screen): The level ends with its title, including the decorators, host and the verifier.

Trivia

[edit | edit source]
  • Death Corridor Z was rated on 18 January 2026, over eight years after its verification, alongside multiple other long-standing unrated levels that also got rated.
    • Death Corridor Z was allegedly not intended to be rated at all because it was an unofficial version of Death Corridor, with the agreement that KugelBlitZ and icedcave's versions would get rated first. However, because of inactivity with both versions, it is believed to have been one of the reasons it was eligible for the rate; not only that, it was considered more of a remake, likewise with Sonic Wave remakes.
      • However, KugelBlitZ's and potentially icedcave's versions can still get rated once both are verified.[2]
  • Death Corridor Z is considered a 'retrospective Top 1'—a level that, after its verification, did not receive a rating in time to claim the Top 1 spot on the Demonlist. This consideration means that Sunix has verified six retrospective Top 1s in the game's history: Sonic Wave, Athanatos, Death Corridor Z, Mefewe's Sonic Wave, Catabath, and Sonicbath.
