Bass Cave

Bass Cave is a 2.0/2.1 Deadlocked-themed Extreme Demon created by Bloodshot and nSwish and legitimately verified by nSwish. It was originally a rated Hard Demon but has since been buffed to an extreme demon and was hack-verified by Bloodshot to upload onto the servers. That version of the level was considered impossible by some players. After some time it was updated once again (this time by nSwish) to balance some of the gameplay and update the decoration, this version being the current one. It was verified legitimately by nSwish on December 5, 2019.
It is currently #101 on the Official Demon List, above SINGULARITY (#102) and below 2 1 1 (#100).
Gameplay
0-17%: Bass Cave begins with a long slow speed mini wave with insane timings and extremely tight spacing. The player must navigate between spikes that are just enough for the wave to pass through. In addition, there are many corridors with accurate wave spam in order to pass. The wave becomes normal size for a short while, and must navigate between a row of tight spikes before turning mini again and executing the same moves as before. After this wave, the player becomes a normal size ship and there are extreme straight fly passages. In addition to the straight fly, the player must also navigate between green orbs. sawblades, and also turning mini for a segment. After the sawblade area, the player enters a long ship straight fly with 1 block of space between the spikes. Right before the song hits the drop, the player turns into a cube and must jump prescisely over triple spikes and also pink orbs in the floor. After the final triple spike, the player turns into a wave and must hold in order to pass above a poorly made Extreme Demon face. In darkness, the player turns into a ball and can collect the first coin by switching gravity quickly up and down before going into the text that says "Bass Knight".
17-40%: The player is immediately thrown into a triple speed ship segment reminiscent of Deadlocked. In addition to there being many gravity switch portals that the player must navigate within tiny corridors, there are also green orbs to bounce the player within turns. Memorization is key as there are insane amounts of teleportation portals that move the player up and down within a corridor, or sometimes in between two corridors. These corridors have random spikes line throughout as well as monsters to ensure the player must straight fly insanely well to pass this section. After a mix of ship segments with these conditions, the player turns into a ball and hits a red orb to enter a short memory segment. There are confusing orbs that the player must not hit and fake spikes on the ground that are safe to touch. In addition, there are also tight platforms the player must go between to avoid spikes on either side. At the end of the ball segment, the player must memorize where to go as there is a corridor where there are three areas and corridors for the ball to go, but some are fake and will kill the player. After the ball, the screen fades to black and there is a small minigame where the player must keep the arrow in the green area. Failure to do so will result in a death.

Trivia
- The level is free to copy.
- Bass Cave has 48,128 objects.
- It is 1 minute and 41 seconds long.
- The second version of the level (the original buffed version to extreme demon by Bloodshot) was actually rated as well as the original version, even though Bloodshot hacked that version. [1]
- The update to Bass Cave that made it an Extreme Demon worthy level was hacked and Bloodshot confessed to this in the description of the showcase. [1]
- Bloodshot's buffed version had a small typo in the level. At 16%, the player encountered text that was supposed to say "Bass Knight". However, Bloodshot accidentally forgot the 'N' in 'Knight', and so the level said "Bass Kight". He realized this only after the level was published. This was later fixed in the updated version by nSwish.
- In December of 2020, the cube in the beginning was given a Santa hat.
- At 14% in the level, a very poorly made Extreme Demon face appears that has become a smaller meme around the community. Bloodshot stated the demon face was made purposely bad, as Bloodshot was streaming when making it, and only included it for comedic reasons. Many players compared it to the similar demon face at the drop in Astral Divinity, cracking ironic jokes that Bass Cave's version was "so much" better.
- A few Geometry Dash Discord servers use the demon face as a custom emoji, such as the Demon List Public Server.
