Critical Heat is a 2.1 Extreme Demon level created by Zeniux and ZeusGD and verified by hstorm on 9 February 2023.[1] It is the hardest level made in the "peaceful style", a sub-category of the modern style that features levels with a theme, and a simple, roofed block design, and a background. This level is themed around a burning factory, with the level getting hotter and hotter as it goes on.

Gameplay

Note: ZeusGD made the layout, while Zeniux made the decoration.

  • 0-18%: The level starts with a cube section, with a sudden timing at the very first click. Next comes a short UFO section, which quickly goes into a spider section, then into a ship section with an orb the player must not hit. Another UFO section is up next, and then a short ball into an auto mini-cube appears as the first section ends.
  • 18-40%: The next section starts with the level building up, featuring wind particles and thinner roof layers. The gameplay begins with a spider section, then a UFO section, and lastly a ship section. After the ship, the level shows an animation of a heat meter going up, signifying the level getting more fiery. A fast-paced cube section appears as the level gets brighter, then it fades and the words "critical heat" show up as the cube jumps over a double spike.
  • 40-68%: The drop starts as the words "critical heat" go away, with a quadruple-speed ship section showing flung metal scraps, and the roof layers now being back to their usual thickness. The blocks here move suddenly into position. The next section consists of many game-modes, from UFO, to cube, to ball, to ship, etc. A brief fade appears and another fast section continues with ball, spider, and UFO. The roof layers become thin at the end of the first drop, with the player going into a wave and ship section.
  • 68-92%: The next drop starts as a preparing dual cube section with a staff-opening scene, which sets the whole level on fire. The roof layers go back to normal. It speeds up as the level goes all out with asymmetrical duals featuring frequently mixed game-mode switches.
  • 92-100%: The last section starts as the fire goes away, with a ship straight-fly, wave spam, and a final jump. A fire symbol with the words "critical heat" comes up as the level ends.

User coins

  • The first coin is located at the end of the first section, at 17%. To collect it, the player needs to jump over the first hanging platform to fall into a gravity portal, towards the coin.
  • The second coin is located right before the drop, at 39%. To collect it, the player needs to jump after the level fades back.
  • The third coin is located in the dual segment, at 69%. It is automatically collected as the cube jumps into it.
