Dark Dimension is a 2.1/2.2 Extreme Demon mega-collaboration level created by the members of The Purgatory, verified by TheNixuzGD on 5 September 2025.[1] It is a redecorated, buffed version of Black Blizzard. It features timings, mixed duals, and spam.

Description

Dark Dimension begins with a half-speed mini-cube section identical to Black Blizzard, featuring dark decorations and more difficult cube timings and orb timings. Next, the player must click all the black orbs later on the staircase to avoid dropping on spikes in front of each step. Then the player encounters more orb timings and a ceiling, where they must click the pink orbs carefully to avoid hitting the ceiling and dying. After that, there are primarily tight orb timings through spikes.

Next, the player transitions into a critical normal-sized cube section; however, the gameplay temporarily deviates from Black Blizzard. This section contains orbs everywhere, then a straight-fly ship segment, back to normal size, a ball-copter, blue and pink orbs, and then two triple-spike jumps before the drop.

The drop begins with a triple-speed UFO section similar to Black Blizzard with gravity changes and spam, then a ball with critical timings and scattered orbs, and then a ship with straight-flying and green orbs. The first half of the drop ends with a cube with an invisible pink dash orb to dash precisely through corridors.

The second half of the drop is the hardest part. It features a mixed dual of mini-wave/UFO/mini-UFO, requiring excellent skills. Next, a mini-ship/mini-ball/mini-spider mixed dual contains scattered timings. Then, a ball/robot mixed dual with orbs. Afterwards, there is a cube section with tricky timings, which ends with a mini-sized blue orb spam.

The final section is at half-speed and requires navigating the ship and wave, like Black Blizzard, through tight parts, and gravity and size changing, and then the level ends.

Trivia

  • Dark Dimension uses four songs and 15 sound effects (SFXs).
  • Dark Dimension was rated on 27 October 2025 and placed at #96 on the Demonlist on 26 November 2025, above Zodiac and below NEUTRA.
  • The placement of Graceful on 23 December 2025 pushed Dark Dimension out of the Top 100 of the Demonlist.
  • Dark Dimension is often criticised for being too generic and not standing out, 'unpleasant' gameplay, and most importantly - sound effects that are prevalent throughout the level. While in the official version the sound effects were decently toned out, people still criticise The Purgatory for placing them in the level.
