Espiazione is a 2.2 Insane platformer level by MattewGame. The level features many unusual boss fights and serves as an expression of MattewGame's emotions, following the demotion of his level, Tears of Denial, from Mythic to Legendary, and the backlash from the community after discovering that Tears of Denial contains uncredited ideas.

Description

[edit | edit source]

Espiazione opens with an animation and MattewGame's watermark. After that, there is a short opening animation before the first boss.

The first boss is a deformed skeleton that stabs the ground with a broken sword. Unlike most bosses, the player must allow the attacks to hit them to hurt the boss. Once enough attacks have been sustained, the skeleton's heart can be touched to heal. The player must do this three times. After that, a soldier appears and shoots the skeleton, making it disappear. The soldier talks to the player and then leaves.

The player is transported to a white void and traverses different settings, such as a house or a city. Then, the next boss fight begins. This boss is a humanoid wielding an electric guitar. They use the guitar to attack and move the player. After five attacks, the player can use an attack themselves to hurt the boss. After enough attacks, the player gets transported to a train setting, the boss shatters, and the soldier has another conversation with the player.

The soldier talks about their experience in war and the mistakes everyone made. It transitions to another boss fight where the player faces three soldiers who attack together with missiles, tanks, and bullets. The player must collect four missile parts in sequence to attack and must do so nine times. After the ninth attack, instead of collecting parts, the player should perform a randomised series of inputs to attack. Yet, the player is prompted not to do this, and if the prompt is obeyed, the boss fight ends.

It leads into an auto part with heavy shaders featuring the soldier from before.

The next boss fight starts. The player is now the soldier and must defeat the enemy soldier by firing many bullets. They can also attack the player by firing a rocket, depleting a third of their health.

The next boss fight opens with a resemblance to a knight, disintegrating the soldier, and showing the player in dark clothing. The knight attacks with his staff, creating elemental powers, and attacking based on the chosen element. The player can attack with a spear, but they must be close to the target. When the boss stops attacking and rests, the player may use this time to attack more. When the knight dies, he disappears, the setting changes, and another healing boss takes his place, being a dragon or god. They can attack very strongly, and as a result, the player has no choice but to have all their health depleted. The player returns as a winged, gun-wielding character, unable to take damage. They may fire until the boss runs out of health.

The game freezes, the player is shown as a normal player, and has a conversation with a humanoid robot. The level ends.
