Jetpack Trials is a 2.2 Extreme Demon platformer level by Eefy, published on 19 February 2024.[1] It is heavily inspired by the Flash game The World's Hardest Game.

Description

[edit | edit source]

Jetpack Trials consists entirely of slow-speed mini-jetpack gameplay with very tight gaps. The level contains no speed changes, size changes, game-mode changes, or pads, and very few gravity portals or dash orbs.

The level is divided into 50 levels, grouped into five sets of ten. While the levels vary in size, they all feature similar gameplay. Each level contains a single checkpoint at the beginning, noted with a green circle, and the player must collect every coin in the level (if any are present) before reaching the black-and-white chequered square at the end.

Each set of levels has its own colour theme: the first set is blue, the second is green, the third is yellow, the fourth is orange, and the fifth is red, essentially a reversed rainbow sequence.

The levels feature both stationary and moving sawblades of various sizes, as well as spikes, as hazards. Some rooms also contain switches that, when activated, cause certain blocks to disappear for a couple of seconds.

Every block, spike, and sawblade is a single solid colour matching the theme of its respective level set. The levels also feature the level number in the top-right corner and a subtle chequered-patterned background, with dark geometric objects decorating the surrounding areas.

Jetpack Trials uses a custom texture for its gravity portals, which appear as three illuminated vertical blocks.
