Nexus is a skilled American-Mexican[1] player and moderator in Geometry Dash. Nexus' most difficult Demons include Bloodlust (his current hardest Demon), The Yandere, Plasma Pulse Finale, Sonic Wave, Yatagarasu, Dole Damos, Freedom08, Digital Descent, Killbot, Omicron, Artificial Ascent, Black Blizzard, Hatred, BuTiTi III, Astral Divinity, and Glitched Memories. On his YouTube channel, Nexus showcases various levels, from Extreme Demons to unknown and unrated. He often publishes videos of unique and innovative levels, and many people credit his channel as where they found certain levels.
History
Nexus created his YouTube channel on July 30, 2014, but did not make any videos until two years later. His Geometry Dash career started with an upload of a completion video of Stardust on June 25, 2016, a now-deleted Easy level created by GGFK (Jaredreaper03).[2] Interestingly enough, he recorded the completion on mobile; proof of this can be low audio quality along with phone buttons seen at the video's end. On the same day, he uploaded a playthrough of the level Hot Pursuit by Adiale.[3] His initial uploads would be completions of levels varying in difficulty, from Easy to Demon, with the latter prevailing on his channel.
Nexus proceeded to beat known levels, including Spacelocked, Mario Temple, Theory of SkriLLex, The_Challenge, and Fingerdash. On January 23, 2017, he uploaded a tutorial video on how to unlock all 2.1 icons, a week after the update was released.[4] Two weeks later, he made a compilation video of the five most popular boss-fights at the time, including The Yatagarasu and Nemesis.[5]
His next notable Demon completions would be Supersonic, Forsaken Neon, TOE III, -sirius-, and Paracosm Circles. Nexus soon started streaming the levels he was trying to complete. He beat Invisible Light, InsanitY, and Mayhem, and, on 26 March 2017, he verified Nerfed Sonic Wave.[6]
On 5 May 2022, Nexus completed Bloodlust as a celebration for achieving 1 million subscribers on his YouTube channel.[7] The level, currently sitting in the legacy section of the Demonlist, is the hardest Nexus has ever beaten.
Conflicts
- YouTube account hacking: On April 21, 2024, Nexus' YouTube channel was hacked by Bitcoin scammers under the name "MicroStrategy US." Two days later, the channel was terminated. He got his channel back up and running on April 24, with his videos re-added to the platform soon after. As the channel was hacked, many users on Twitter formed the hashtag #FreeNexus.
