Scarlet Surge is a 1.9 Harder level by Insendium. It is the second level of the Chaos Gauntlet.

Description

The level starts with a half-speed ship sequence containing flashing blocks and a warning sign. It then goes into a normal-speed cube section with various orbs and pads, followed by a ball segment with orbs, pads, gravity portals and flashing platforms. Next, the screen is mirrored, and the player enters a relatively easy double-speed UFO segment where they have to avoid blocks, followed by a normal-speed wave section with some easy timings and switches back to the normal screen direction in the middle.

It then transitions into a cube section with some simple jumps, after which the screen is mirrored as the player enters a ship with some saws, which become mini in the middle. The level returns to normal mirroring and continues into a ball with flashing blocks. The ball becomes a dual in the middle, followed by a mirrored UFO segment that becomes mini near the end. Then, the player enters a dual-ship sequence, a dual-cube section, a ship sequence with many up-and-down flying and an auto-cube section with texts "thanks !" and "Insendium."

Trivia

  • This is one of the four gauntlet levels made before Update 2.0, the others being Fire Aura from the Lava Gauntlet, Kappaclysm from the Chaos Gauntlet, and Death Moon from the Cursed Gauntlet.
  • This level is often disliked by players due to its usage of flashing visuals and XL length.
  • The level has a Harder difficulty sequel called Sapphire Surge, made in 1.9 and 2.0.
    • There also exists an Extreme Demon remake of this level called Carmine Cascade by AAAAAlex, which is apparently the most enjoyed Extreme Demon in the game according to the EDEL (Extreme Demon Enjoyments List)
  • On 1 April 2021, RobTop accidentally deleted all of the level's comments.
