Serving as the first platformer and the first 2.2 level of 16lord's 'Tower' series, it was awarded the first Mythic rate in Geometry Dash on the same day it was published. The honour was controversial, as some believe the decoration is too poor for the highest rating Geometry Dash can offer; opinions have shifted somewhat since then. A sequel, The Towerverse II, was released on 23 August 2025 and also received a Mythic rating. ==Description and story== WARNING: This section contains spoilers for The Towerverse. The Towerverse opens with a scene featuring a talking toadstool and text that reads 'Blue Moon'. After the player converses with the toadstool, the player can now freely wander the Blue Moon. This section has mini coins scattered across it and mystery blocks that, once hit from below, give the player more mini coins. This part includes a section called the 'Invisible Tower', introduced by a dark character and a portal. The section is affected by an area fade trigger, meaning objects are only visible when the player is in proximity. The toadstools claim this tower does not exist. After venturing farther, another portal shatters into three pieces, and they must be collected to progress. The shape of the pieces might be a reference to Michigun. When the pieces are collected and the portal restored, the player accesses another, longer Invisible Tower. Afterwards, a new mechanic is introduced: monsters that pop up when within range. The player must jump quickly to avoid the monsters. This mechanic is combined with platforming challenges. A character named Torres is brought up in conversation. Afterwards, the player exits the Blue Moon and enters the Desert Mountains, with the colour palette changing to reflect the new area. There are more platforming challenges and obstacles to avoid. After getting through some platforming, the player meets Torres, an inventor and handyman who fixes orbs and portals. He says he was a former Geometry Dash player and creator, and that he left a gadget for the player in the mountains. It is an orb that switches gravity. It functions identically to a blue orb. The player then faces more difficult platforming challenges using this blue orb. The next part is in a cave in the Desert Mountains. The player must descend the cave to retrieve a key that Torres dropped and a monster took. The cave has a plethora of traps, including but not limited to moving sawblades and toggling spikes. When the player reaches the bottom, they press a button near a cryptic message referencing a 'Dark Being', collect the key, and explosives fall to the ground, giving the player a minute to get back up the cave before the bombs detonate. After escaping, Torres lets the player open his gadget chest with the key to uncover a propeller. The propeller is required for the next section. This section is called the Mountain Tower. The propeller lowers gravity when the jump button is held, helping navigate the tower's high cliffs and gaps. The player must learn to use this item in all of the ways necessary. The tower itself comprises spiky black masses and angry sawblades that crash the player upon touch. There are very few checkpoints in this part. After the propeller section, the propeller is lost, and the player talks to Torres. He mentions 'The lord of darkness'. Torres is revealed to the player (in third-person omniscient) to be a suspicious character. The player exits the Desert Mountains and enters The Dark Side of the Moon. The Dark Side of the Moon is a dim place in the cosmos with platforms leading upwards. Multiple portals transport both platforms and the player. At the top, the lord of darkness speaks to the player. He says that he has been plotting the player's demise for a long time, listing off his previous plans. He reveals he was actually Torres and that his current plan is to trap the player in a time loop. He starts the time loop. Credits roll, and the player is awarded user coins. The player is shown where they began, at the Blue Moon, with no memory of previously being there, and the level ends. ==User coins== The Towerverse contains three user coins. They are earned by accumulating various statistics. *The first coin is obtained by collecting 500 mini coins, scattered across the level. *The second coin is obtained by collecting 12 rainbow coins, collected by completing challenges or finding secrets. *The third and final coin is obtained by talking to 50 NPCs (such as toadstools). Major dialogue and proximity-based remarks count. ==Gameplay== 3_QN8vgbFFM ==Trivia== *The Towerverse uses 10 songs and 259 sound effects (SFXs). *The Towerverse mentions multiple of 16lord's other levels in the same series, providing more insight into the storyline. *The lord of darkness's name very likely comes from a SFX line in The Cellar. *The Towerverse is the most-downloaded platformer level. *The Towerverse is also the third most-liked platformer level, only behind Coin temple and Dash Cave. *If the player does not collect at least 120 mini coins and 3 rainbow coins or does not talk to at least 12 NPCs in the Blue Moon, the level enters Hardcore Mode and removes every checkpoint from Desert Mountains, Mountain Tower and The Dark Side of the Moon. *The propeller section is considered the most difficult section. **The propeller was originally going to be a cutscene gimmick that takes the player down to the centre of the moon. However, the current mechanic was created by accident and, as a result, was integrated into the level as a core part. *In an interview with Colon, 16lord revealed that The Towerverse was planned ever since the Dash sneak peek. *In 16lord's level Cartash, the toadstools are referred to as 'Champi'. **Also in Cartash, King Torres and a Tower appear.
