Trick is a French/American player. He rose to fame by verifying the Top 2 Extreme Demon Firework in mid-2021, following a long lineage of verifiers.[1] He was widely considered to be one of the best players in the game, becoming the first victor of KOCMOC, Abyss of Darkness and Tidal Wave. He held the #1 spot on the Demonlist Stats Viewer from June to September 2024,[2] before Zoink dethroned him. Trick also became the first victor of Centipede, Spectre and Apocalyptic Trilogy in January 2025.

After a break from top play between January and June 2025, he went on to complete Anathema, Subterminal Point, Waterfall, Sevvend Clubstep and KOSETSU. Due to the recent inactivity, he fell to the #3 spot on the Pointercrate Individual Stats Viewer, below wPopoff.

Since January 2025, Trick was not consistent in uploading new level completions due to heavily considering quitting top play entirely.[3] However, he returned and made huge progress on Thinking Space II, which he currently has a best of 95% on. Due to inactivity, he would fall down the Pointercrate Individual Stats Viewer, with Netermind surpassing him.

Trick belongs to a group of skilled Geometry Dash players, dubbed TCD after himself, Conix and Denni. In the group, there are also Cursed, Diamond and Doggie.

History

Trick created his YouTube channel during the 2.0 update on 26 December 2015, but did not upload any videos until four years later. He uploaded his first video on 5 January 2020, titled 'LordVaderCraft being LordVaderCraft for 50 seconds'. Later, he would start uploading more videos, all being Geometry Dash-related.

Trick's first major achievement was completing the Extreme Demon Cataclysm on 14 October 2020.[4] It was the seventh video uploaded onto his channel. On 15 October, he re-beat Cataclysm on a stream and Bloodbath for the eighth time.[5][6] He then beat some other Extreme Demons, such as Down Bass, Allegiance, Glide and Gunslinga Corridor, as well as making progress on Sonic Wave and Digital Descent.

On 8 December 2020, Trick beat his new hardest Demon, Auditory Breaker, which took him 1,591 attempts.[7] On 19 December, Trick made progress on Firework with a run of 19-37% (although he was not the level's official verifier yet), and then he got 24% and 32% two days later.[8]

Starting in 2021, on 6 January, Trick beat Digital Descent, marking his new hardest Demon.[9][10] He later decided to re-beat it. On 12 January, he beat Sakupen Hell, and the next day, he beat Asmodeus.[11][12] In February, he got a record of 38% and 41% on Firework, then made further progress with runs of 24-60% and 64-96%.[13] Soon after, he got 53% on Wasureta in under six hours, then 66%, and eventually a fail of 95% on 17 February.[14]

On 3 March 2021, Trick beat Carcano and simultaneously achieved 200 List Points on the Pointercrate Individual Stats Viewer.[15][16]

Trick's popularity rose when he was announced as the new set verifier for Firework. When Trick became an official verifier, he had a copy of the level named 'Trick Firework Fix 3', on which he achieved 43%.[17] He made further progress with runs such as 35-64%.[18] Later, he got 53% on 17 April 2021.[19] On 26 April, after three deaths on the level's last input, he beat Wasureta, making it his new hardest Demon.[20] The next day, on 27 April, he showcased his final version of Firework.[21] After the showcase, he achieved 60% on the level on 4 May.[22]

On 14 June 2021, Trick achieved 69% on Firework, surpassing Kurumi's record, and made further progress with 49-100% and 33-100%. He would soon achieve 81% on 28 June.[23] After super-buffing the level, he achieved 88% on 1 July.[24] Ten days later, he became the first victor of Kuzureta.[25]

On 11 August 2021, Trick achieved 91% on his super-buffed version of Firework, and then on 22 September, he achieved a run of 24-100% on his super-buffed version. Following this, he would slightly nerf the level. After 234,000 attempts, he verified the level on 29 October,[26]

On 1 February 2022, Trick completed The Golden; it was #8 at the time. His furthest crash before completion happened at 93%.[27] On 13 August, Trick beat Abyss of Darkness. The level was #2 at the time, and he became its first victor.[28] On 19 September, he completed Slaughterhouse after about 50,000 attempts and fails at 92% and 94%, becoming its fifth victor. The level was #1 at the time.[29] On 15 October, he beat the #8 Demon at the time, Oblivion.[30]

Trick finally beat Acheron on 25 February 2023, after failing at 98%, making it his hardest completion at the time.[31]

On 12 March 2023, Trick verified KOCMOC.[32] On 2 April, Trick became the third victor of Kyouki, which was #3 at the time.[33] On 27 April, he completed Edge of Destiny.[34] On 8 May, he became the third victor of Silent clubstep; it was #3 at the time as well.[35] On 16 June, Trick rebeat KOCMOC after the level was updated and verified by Zoink on the same day.[36]

On 23 October 2023, Trick uploaded his first progress video on Tidal Wave, where he got 43%.[37] Four days later, he got 62%.[38] The next year, on 26 February, he achieved 73% and 29-100%.[39] On 7 March 2024, 18 days after Tidal Wave was rated, Trick became its first victor, with nearly 70,000 attempts.[40]

At the same time as making his Tidal Wave videos, Trick would beat Deimos by ItsHybrid on 7 November 2023.[41] On the last day of that year, he completed VSC, the hardest challenge at the time. Next year, Avernus on 8 January, which was the hardest Demon at the time.[42] On 31 January, Eyes in the Water,[43] and a week later, The Hallucination.[44] On 18 March, he beat Tunnel of Despair after about 12,000 attempts.[45]

On 11 June 2024, Trick overtook Zoink as the #1 player on the Stats Viewer after Zoink's reign of 515 days. Trick had been beating List Demons in secret and submitted them all simultaneously to claim the #1 spot. After Trick overtook Zoink, the two players battled for the #1 spot for three months, overtaking each other back-to-back several times. During that time, on 21 June, Trick became the first victor of Centipede, an unrated Top 20 Demon at the time, after about 5,700 attempts.[46] On 12 October, he became the first victor of Spectre, after 5,582 attempts.[47] Since 14 November, Zoink has retained the #1 spot on the Stats Viewer. Trick stated on stream on 5 November that he did not want to overtake Zoink again due to the egregious list-grinding and generally losing motivation of the game.[48]

In 2025, on 7 January, Trick became the first victor of Apocalyptic Trilogy, the level he was previously set to verify, but due to drama and controversy surrounding him, the verification project was transferred to Polterghast.[49][50] Before

On 12 February 2025, Trick made a video in which he stated that he was officially quitting the game due to partial burnout and the need to try new, unrelated things, such as expanding his passion for music and exploring himself.[3] Trick said that he will stay in touch with the game and keep posting on his YouTube channel until he figures out which way exactly he wants to choose. He also added that after dropping the level, Amethyst would be verified by wPopoff.

Return and Aeternus

On 7 June 2025, Trick returned to top play, posting a completion of Anathema. In the video description, he discusses how, although he is still technically retired from list-grinding, he has decided to continue playing top levels for his own enjoyment. Soon after, he would start streaming progress on Aeternus, a future Top 1 Demon.

On 14 June 2025, Trick uploaded his first Aeternus live stream. He would stream Aeternus eight more times up to the present day. At first, and as expected, his progress on the level was minimal, with the best runs achieving 91-100% and 80-85%.[51] However, during the next stream, Trick achieved 88-100%, 88-98% and 80-89%.[52] 17 June was a breakthrough in the progress, as Trick achieved 86-100% (almost beating Chill Guy's previous 84-100% record[53]), 80-96%, 80-90% and 80-88%.[54] On the same day, he also got 79-98% and 80-97%.[55]

The next day, Trick achieved two runs of 80-98%.[56] On 20 June, Trick achieved 71-90% and 71-89%.[57] The same day again, he got 71-92%, 71-87%, 71-90%, 71-89% and 71-86%.[58] On 21 June, Trick got 71-98%, a new best run which is also currently the world record on the level. He achieved runs of 79-98%, 71-93%, and 71-90% as well.[59] Two days later, he got 71-94%.[60] That stream was the last progress update on Aeternus that Trick has provided.

On 12 August 2025, Trick completed Subterminal Point after about 4,500 attempts.[61] On 16 August, he completed Waterfall after about 3,000 attempts.[62] The next day, he beat Sevvend Clubstep.[63] On 20 August, he beat KOSETSU after about 3,000 attempts.[64]

On 28 September 2025, Trick streamed himself playing Flamewall with Doggie, achieving a best run of 24-57%.[65]

On 1 November 2025, Trick started streaming Thinking Space II, the #1 level at the time.[66] At the same time, he also rolled himself another level to beat, The Yangire, which he beat the next day. He managed to accumulate four fails at 57% shortly after his first stream. He rolled another level to beat on 7 November, which was Every End; however, he would be playing it off-stream. On 14 November, he failed at 57% six more times on Thinking Space II in one stream.[67] Two days later, he finally got a new best of 62%.[68] On 22 November, he revealed that he got 73% off-stream.[69] The next day, he managed to achieve 78% off-stream; during this stream, he also failed at 77% twice.[70] On 26 November, he reached 84%.[71]

Trick would keep streaming Thinking Space II until mid-December, and he announced that he would take a break for his mental health. He would post one video three months later, doing dedicated 'Trick' challenge levels.[72]

Trick later returned to streaming Thinking Space II on 20 June 2026. In the midst of it, he also reacted to wPopoff verifying Society.[73] On 28 June, he posted getting a new best of 86% off-stream.[74] He improved his best to 87% on 9 July.[75] Two days later, he reached 93%.[76] On 14 July, he got a 95% fail off-stream.[77]

Controversies

  • Lying about Tartarus attempts: On 13 December 2021, Trick uploaded a completion of Tartarus to his YouTube channel.[78] This accomplishment was no surprise, as Trick is a highly skilled player to most community members. However, his attempt count of merely 11,358 raised suspicions, as it had taken him over 234,000 attempts to beat Firework, and the attempt record, held by Luqualizer, was still 17,000 attempts.[79] After dice88 and a few others called him out on Twitter, he eventually confessed to lying about his attempt count. His response to the situation read: 'when I do something cool and exaggerate, my "dumba** self" decides it is the right idea.' He still did beat Tartarus legitimately, but his actual attempt count was around 26,000. The drama died down shortly after.
  • Taking 60Hz bugfix key during Abyss of Darkness completion: After beating Abyss of Darkness on 13 August 2022, people took notice after watching the completion video that Trick collected a 60Hz bugfix key that, on higher refresh rates, nerfs the ball timing at the beginning of MegaSkill's part. (Trick completed the level using 360 FPS). Due to Trick not collecting the key for its intended purpose, some people believe this makes his completion of the level illegitimate.

Trivia

  • Trick has garnered over 208,000 subscribers on his YouTube channel.[80]
  • Trick has beaten Firework at least 11 times.
  • At the time, Trick's verification of Firework held the record for the most attempts spent on successfully verifying a level, totalling around 234,000 attempts. However, this record has since been surpassed by Demishio, who verified his own level Kyouki, a level he also built solo, after 501,997 attempts.
  • Trick had a copy of 'Trick Firework Fix 3', but it was later deleted from the servers.
  • Firework had the #1 spot on the Demonlist for 18 seconds due to the combined rating with Slaughterhouse and arcturus on 29 October 2021.
    • Because of this, Firework currently holds the title for the shortest time spent at the #1 spot on the Demonlist.
  • KOCMOC was originally verified by Trick, but the updated version was verified by Zoink.
  • Trick formerly held the world record of 33% on the Top 1-difficulty level Misanthrope.[81] It is now held by iIiLaseriIi, with 48%.[82]
