wPopoff is an American player, widely considered one of the best players in the game, alongside Trick and Zoink. He is one of the youngest players to beat levels on the Demonlist, having completed the former Top 1 levels Acheron and Slaughterhouse at the age of 13.[1][2] His popularity skyrocketed when he became the second victor of Tidal Wave after an intense friendly rivalry with Trick. He is also known for beating Top Demons with extremely low attempt counts, such as his 8,205 attempts on Firework. wPopoff is the #2 player on the Pointercrate Stats Viewer, above Trick and below Zoink.

wPopoff verified the former Top 1 Amethyst, a spiritual successor to The Golden, on 25 May 2025 after about 113,000 attempts.[3] He also beat the former Top 1 Thinking Space II on 6 November 2025 after a worst fail of 95%.[4]

wPopoff's most recent achievement is verifying the former Top 1 level, Society, the sequel to Escalator, which he did on 20 June 2026.[5]

History

[edit | edit source]

wPopoff created his YouTube channel on 17 October 2022. He uploaded his first video twenty days later on 7 November; it was his completion of Dolos, a 2.1 Extreme Demon mega-collaboration hosted, verified and published by Enzeux.[6] His initial videos were completions of difficult Extreme Demon levels, including Arctic Lights, Zodiac and Slaughterhouse; wPopoff had prior experience with the game, as his in-game account existed years before his YouTube channel. Despite that, he was unknown at the time. He completed Cataclysm at just 11 years old. He would later jump to Balengu Vortex.[7]

wPopoff's first major completion was Slaughterhouse, beaten after 105,000 attempts on 3 January 2023.[8] Three weeks later, after crashing at 99%, he uploaded his completion of Zodiac, making it his third hardest Demon at the time.[9] On 5 February, he beat Crimson Planet after around 5,500 attempts,[10] and on 25 February, he completed Oblivion after 13,500 attempts.[11]

wPopoff's next achievement was Tartarus, beaten on 4 March 2023,[12] followed by Cosmic Cyclone on 23 March.[13] Not long after, he started uploading videos of his progress on the then-Top 1 level Acheron. On 29 April, he fluked it from 69% to 97%, and soon after, on 21 June, he completed it after 69,442 attempts and two fails at 97%, making him the youngest victor of the level at the time.[1]

On 27 July 2023, wPopoff completed Sakupen Circles in 25,000 attempts.[14] On 7 August, he beat The Golden after 13,000 attempts.[15] Next, he completed Kenos on 14 August, taking only three days and 4,800 attempts to complete it.[16] On 10 September, after crashes at 64% and 67%, he completed Sonic Wave Infinity.[17] On 14 October, he beat Silent Club,[18] and six days later, Hard Machine.[19]

On 11 November 2023, wPopoff beat a buffed version of Acheron,[20] Trotil on 7 December,[21] Shukketsu on 15 December,[22] and Keres on 10 December.[23] He then completed a slightly buffed version of Slaughterhouse, christmashouse, on 26 December.[24]

On 2 January 2024, wPopoff achieved significant progress on Silent clubstep, the #3 Demon at the time; he fluked the level from 17% to 62%, eventually completing it on 23 January.[25] On 27 January, he beat The Hallucination after 10,691 attempts and three days of play.[26] A day later, he successfully beat Promethean after 4,218 attempts, the same day he started practising it.[27]

Within the previous year, wPopoff showcased significant progress on Tidal Wave, which he had been practising for a month before. On 1 March 2024, he became the closest first victor of Tidal Wave after his 95% fail, which is the last input in the level. Because of this, Trick managed to beat the level before him six days later. On Twitter, wPopoff congratulated Trick for his success, saying he deserved to win the race because Trick has been a top player for a while and wPopoff said he deserves the crown for being the best player that time.[28]

On 10 March 2024, after over five months of playing, a 38-100% run and a fail at 90% and 95%, wPopoff became the second victor of Tidal Wave.[29] He would upload his completion on YouTube two days later.[30] On 17 March, he beat Tunnel of Despair.[31]

On 23 May 2024, wPopoff verified ORDINARY after 18,000 attempts.[32] Then, on 29 May, after only three days of playing and less than 20,000 attempts, he beat the former hardest challenge level, VSC, in the video description, jokingly saying 'Idk, I heard this was hard so I'm uploading it.'[33]

On 12 June 2024, wPopoff became the third victor of Avernus.[34] He beat the level in just six days. Nineteen days later, he completed KOCMOC after 8,000 attempts.[35] On 5 September, he posted a progress showcase of his verification project, Vehemence, an upcoming sequel to Anahita, getting an impressive 53-100% run. He commented that it was harder than Firework but easier than Sakupen Circles.[36] On 25 October, he beat The Yangire after about 11,000 attempts, making it his 17th hardest level at the time.[37]

On 22 January 2025, wPopoff beat Deimos by ItsHybrid after a fluke from 60%, but he did not post a video of it, explaining that he 'forgor to speak up or upload cuz of 100% pure laziness.'[38]

On 12 February 2025, wPopoff became the official verifier of Amethyst after Trick quit from top play at that time.[39] He explained he would keep playing Vehemence and significantly nerf it due to the imbalance in difficulty between them.

wPopoff's next completions would include Saul Goodman,[40] Solar Flare,[41] and PSYCHOPATH.[42]

In the meantime, wPopoff made significant progress on Amethyst and crashed at 94% on 4 May 2025.[43] Twenty days later, he verified the level, which was rated on 4 June and placed #1 on the Demonlist on the same day.[44] This very notable achievement cost him over 113,000 attempts. He has made 31 Amethyst streams in total.

On 7 June 2025, wPopoff completed the Anathema after 13,482 attempts.[45] Two weeks later, he beat Spectre.[46] On 31 August, he beat andromeda as his third hardest after 14,117 attempts.[47] On 5 September, he has fluked arcturus from 33%.[48] On 10 September, he completed SARYYX NEVER CLEAR,[49] and surpassed Trick again on the Pointercrate Individual Stats Viewer, taking the Top 2 spot.

On 14 September 2025, wPopoff completed Sevvend Clubstep,[50] and on 23 September, Subterminal Point.[51] On 28 September, he completed Eyes in the Water after 4,868 attempts.[52]

On 29 September 2025, six days after he first started playing Thinking Space II, wPopoff achieved 85% (a fluke from 59%), and 57-100%, completing this feat in about 15,000 attempts.[53] This has sparked a controversy in the community, opening new discussions regarding Amethyst's and Thinking Space II's difficulty.[54] On 11 October, he completed Apocalyptic Trilogy.[55] On 6 November, he became the first victor of Thinking Space II.[4] On 18 November, he completed Silentlocked as its first victor after 5,988 attempts.[56] On 24 November, he became the first victor of Subsuming Vortex after around 10,000 attempts and worst fails of 95% and 96%.[57]

On 12 December 2025, wPopoff completed Waterfall,[58] and on 14 December, Convulsion as his first Demon of '12 List Demons Of Christmas', an event in which top players participate every December.[59] On 19 December, he beat Cimmerian Shade;[60] on 25 December, Menace;[61] then on 7 January 2026, he fluked Operation Evolution from 59%;[62] and on 21 January, he completed Wavterminal.[63]

Recent history

[edit | edit source]

On 15 January 2026, wPopoff became the second victor of BOOBAWAMBA after around 20,000 attempts, with the furthest fails at 87% and 89%, as well as 86% three times.[64] He would then stream himself playing Every End until 5 February 2026, when on that stream he got 31% and then a new record of 48%, all that in just four streams.[65]

After a period of inactivity in February and the first half of March, on 15 March 2026, wPopoff posted on YouTube, announcing that he had taken a break from the game to focus on real-life matters. After the comeback, the first level he played was Slaughterhouse, which he completed in under eight minutes.[66]

On 18 March 2026, wPopoff returned to Every End, achieving 35%, 36%, and 14-42%.[67] The next day, he got 51%, 52%, 61-100%, and a new best of 63%, beating the level in two runs.[68]

On 21 March 2026, wPopoff achieved a new best of 65%.[69] The next day, wPopoff got 63% twice and achieved a new best of 71%.[70] The day after, he got a new best of 85%.[71] On 25 March 2026, wPopoff achieved a run of 18-100% and a new best of 93%.[72] On 27 March 2026, he failed at 93% twice.[73] The day after, wPopoff beat Every End, taking 9,050 attempts total. Notably, his lamp turned off 68% into the level.[74]

Society verification

[edit | edit source]

On 9 April 2026, wPopoff began verifying Society, an analogue horror-themed Top 10 difficulty level hosted by Viwi. However, he would buff the level to potential Top 5 difficulty shortly after. However, many people urged him to buff Society to Top 1, saying it deserves to be the new hardest upcoming level in the game. On 5 May 2026, he made a YouTube video in which he went over all the buffs he had made, adding multiple 120FPS frame-perfects and a couple of 240FPS frame-perfects.[75]

wPopoff first achieved 52-100% and 34-67% on 9 April.[76] Two days later, he achieved a 14% record,[77] then 33-69%, 21% three times[78] and 25%.[79] After a nine-day break, on 22 April, he achieved 35% and 52-100%.[80] He got 40% and 52-100% again on 24 April.[81] A day later, he got a new best of 45% and 43-100%.[82] On 28 April, he got a 33-100% run.[83] All that progress has been made on the Top 10 and then the Top 5 version. However, on 6 May, wPopoff got a new 47% record on the already buffed Top 1 version.[84] He then achieved 51% on 9 May,[85] and proceeded to get another best of 55% on 11 May.[86] A day later, he managed to reach 63%.[87]

On 19 May 2026, wPopoff made a YouTube Short announcing his trip to Italy to visit Sicily and Rome, stating that he is not planning to drop Society.[88] From Rome, he then travelled to Sicily and stayed there until 26 May. He would then upload two YouTube Shorts in which he filmed himself exploring different ancient monuments.[89] He came back to streaming Society on 1 June.[90] On 8 June, he got a new best of 67%.[91] On 11 June 2026, he showed himself getting a run of 15-100% off-stream.[92] On 13 June, he reached the last section of the level, getting 72%.[93] During his stream on 20 June 2026, wPopoff achieved a new best of 73% before later verifying the level.[5]

Post-Society

[edit | edit source]

At the beginning of July 2026, wPopoff met up with Netermind, who was playing Thinking Space II. wPopoff beat Snowbound, taking him about six hours and then Voltage, fluking from 63%, but the audio had no clicks because the headset turned off. He rebeat it 10 minutes later with clicks recorded. He also revealed that he upgraded from a Huntsman v2 keyboard to a Wooting 80HE, with a new monitor on its way. The next level he wants to beat is Quanteuse processing,[94] which he beat on 2 August, fluking it from 78%.[95] He spun a wheel for the next level to beat in the Top 10, which landed on Flamewall. On 14 September, he got a new best of 60% on Flamewall.[96] In between his Flamewall grind, he also beat Sacrifice.[97] On 27 September, he beat Calibrate, fluking from 61%.[98]

Trivia

[edit | edit source]
  • wPopoff has garnered over 272,000 subscribers on his YouTube channel.[100]
  • wPopoff was the 15th guest of the Secret Way interviews.[101]
  • wPopoff is the youngest Geometry Dash player to reach the Top 10 on the Pointercrate Stats Viewer.
  • wPopoff beat Tidal Wave, the hardest level in Geometry Dash at the time, on 10 March 2024, three days after Trick, who was the first victor.
  • wPopoff beat Slaughterhouse three times in a row.[102]
    • wPopoff has also beaten Slaughterhouse over 100 times, and won the GDWT Slaughterhouse Race on 12 May 2024, where he beat the level 17 times in one hour.[103]
  • wPopoff's 77% crash on Amethyst happened the same day Zoink crashed at 95% on Thinking Space II, 4 May 2025.
    • wPopoff also verified Amethyst on the same day Zoink verified Thinking Space II.
  • On 13 July 2025, wPopoff reverified Amethyst to include a Click Between Frames (CBF) blocker to prevent anyone using the mod from beating the level more easily.[104]
  • wPopoff verified Unnerfed Slaughterhouse on 8 October 2023.[105]
  • wPopoff beat Avernus on the same day that Trick overtook Zoink as the #1 player on the Pointercrate Stats Viewer.[106]
  • On 20 January 2025, wPopoff uploaded his first ever TikToka video, in which he stated that although he was the #3 player on the Demonlist Stats Viewer, he would try to get the #1 spot, explaining his most significant achievements at the time, mainly Tidal Wave, Avernus, Acheron, and Slaughterhouse three times in a row.[107]
    • wPopoff also briefly mentioned his now-abandoned verification project, Vehemence, and at the end of the video, he explained that he would stream his progress on Twitch, YouTube, and TikTok.
  • On 15 February 2025, right after RobTop's annual event video, The Geometry Dash Awards 2024: Nominees,[108] wPopoff expressed his dissatisfaction with Geometry Dash players and YouTubers such as Doggie, Netermind, and Taiago not being nominated, despite their successes and high respect within the community, and how lesser-known players like SerVax or teraaa were nominated instead. He accused them of having rigged the votes in some way, presumably through vote-bots.[109]
  • wPopoff's most-viewed YouTube video is the verification of Amethyst at over 1.4 million views, followed by his completion of Tidal Wave, at 1 million views.
  • In January 2023, wPopoff created his Twitter account, but he did not make any posts until six months later. His first post, made on 22 June 2023, addressed the false accusations that he had hacked Slaughterhouse and other Extreme Demons.[110] He was upset that the community, judging by his then-low subscriber count and reactions when beating Extreme Demons, started spreading false claims based on these reactions, instead of supporting him and simply enjoying the content he was creating.
    • The same week, he beat Avernus, and Trick became the #1 player.[111]
  • wPopoff beat Slaughterhouse on his first TikTok video on 20 January 2025. The video and his previous TikTok account were deleted for unknown reasons, and wPopoff then made a new one.[112]
  • wPopoff's Sonic Wave Infinity completion video references the former Top 1 Extreme Demon Tidal Wave, hence the title of the video - 'Tidal Wave Infinity', and the thumbnail, which is a photo of an ocean wave.[17]
  • In late 2025, wPopoff's AI-generated thumbnail of the level Apocalyptic Trilogy sparked controversy and even backlash against him, with people condemning the use of generative AI, with some even claiming that he does not care as much about the game and the community as in the past.[113]
  • wPopoff responded to his removal from the verification project of Vehemence, saying that he does not care about it, and that he wanted to work on other things in the game.
  • Interestingly, both of wPopoff's Top 1 verifications, Amethyst and Society, have very long end screens, which many members of the community have pointed out.
