Template:Infobox Level WcropoliX is a 2.0 Extreme Demon collaboration level created by BlassCFB, Marpha, Mero and Nifecap and verified and published by BlassCFB on 30 July 2016.[1] It is well known for its extreme difficulty, repetitive and spammy gameplay at the time, and for being possibly the first level to be considered harder than Bloodbath by the wider community unanimously. The level gained significant infamy for remaining unrated for nearly nine years, despite its immense popularity and difficulty, and was unexpectedly rated on 17 June 2025.
Gameplay
- 0-14%: WcropoliX begins with a half-speed cube sequence, with the level's title appearing one letter at a time. The player must carefully jump on a few pillars before hitting a yellow pad and being thrust into the first wave sequence. The first wave consists of a tight corridor peppered with small sawblades, which the player must avoid before hitting a gravity- and double-speed portal. It requires the player to manoeuvre through a short, tight wave between vertical block structures before ending this sequence with a spam section through a spike corridor.
- 14-32%: The player is sent down into a half-speed ship sequence, requiring to perform a slow, tight straight-fly, followed by a short UFO sequence, navigating tight brick structures. Next, the player again enters a wave sequence, navigating the same type of structures, and then must hit an invisible mini-portal. They must then return to normal size and navigate a curved, tight wave lined with bushes. The player, once again, enters a short ship sequence, where they must avoid large spikes by moving up and down along the roof of the section, with a tight gravity change and a blue orb timing in the middle, before another short cube sequence with two blue orb timings, a short UFO sequence, and then entering an auto cube sequence.
- 31-54%: Afterwards, the player gets launched into a normal-sized wave sequence filled with sawblades, requiring precise movements to hug the slopes to avoid them. The player switches to mini size and then enters a cube sequence, immediately followed by a mini-ship sequence that uses constant gravity portals and orbs for tricky navigation. Another tight wave spam corridor follows, leading to a sequence where the player must switch between mini and normal size and navigate extremely tight and shifting spike and slope gaps. Most players often regard this segment as the hardest in the level due to its inconsistency and difficulty.
- 54-76%: After the player passes one of the level's hardest segments, the level suddenly changes to triple speed, and the player must navigate a sweeping, tight normal-size ship sequence with green orb timings, followed by a brief wave and mini-ball sequences. Then, back to a triple-speed, normal-sized ship, navigating a sequence similar to the previous ship, albeit, this time, with the addition of two tight straight-fly corridors. After the ship sequence, the level switches back to half speed once again, leading into a short mini-wave sequence peppered with sawblades before leading into another short cube sequence, consisting of a spike corner jump, followed by an easy yellow orb timing.
- 76-94%: The player reaches the level's final wave, a tight corridor with many thorn-like structures that the player must avoid while spamming to make sure they stay within the corridor's walls, much like the first wave sequence. The player then reaches one final spam section, featuring constant speed changes, before the wave ends with a half-speed, tight spike corridor that the player must once again spam through.
- 94-100%: The level ends with a short cube section featuring BlassCFB's name spelt out in large, capitalised letters with default blocks, where the player must perform two final, very tight spike jumps, the final being a nerfed triple spike, followed by a 'GG' spelt out with blocks, ending the level. If the player collects a key at 14% and jumps into the GG at the end (the middle of the structure has fake blocks, to which the player will not die), they can collect the level's three user coins.
Trivia
- The password for WcropoliX is 123654.
- WcropoliX was rated on 17 June 2025.[2]
- WcropoliX took 8 years, 10 months, and 17 days to be rated, becoming a prominent running joke in the community, generally viewed as a level that would never receive an official rating.
- WcropoliX's time of being unrated for nearly nine years is one of the longest periods between a level being uploaded and subsequently being rated in the game's history.
- WcropoliX is a remake of another named Wcropolis, an unrated Acropolis remake created by KeyBladeMaster.
- Despite the original level, Wcropolis, using the song 'The Big Black' by The Quick Brown Fox, the song in WcropoliX would instead be replaced with 'Fracture' by NIGHTkilla, as the former track was removed from Newgrounds.
- WcropoliX borrowed its naming scheme from SoulsTRK's level, AcropoliX.
- Much like the original level it is based on, WcropoliX is notorious for its spammy, repetitive gameplay style, which has been widely criticised over the years. This criticism was commonly cited as a likely reason for the level being unrated; however, this claim would later be proven to be false after WcropoliX's rating.
- BlassCFB, the verifier and creator, would beat the level in a mere 8,240 attempts, a very low attempt count for a level of this difficulty at the time.
- The community often considers WcropoliX as possibly the first level beaten harder than Bloodbath, though opinions have differed over the years.
- WcropoliX would have almost certainly placed at the #1 spot had it been rated in 2016, right after its verification, hence its status as a retrospective Top 1.
- WcropoliX would be one of the first cases of a Top 1 difficulty level remaining unrated despite immense demand from the community for the level to receive a rating—a phenomenon that would become common in later years with levels such as Abyss of Darkness, Tidal Wave, among many others.
- WcropoliX is one of the shortest (retrospective) Top 1s in history, being the hardest completed level for only two days until the current version of The Hell Zone was beaten.
- This claim can be disputed, as both levels are closely comparable in difficulty, and opinions on which is more difficult vary widely.
