Cosmic Cyclone is a 2.1 Extreme Demon mega-collaboration level hosted by Zimnyte and Riot, created by Cyclic and Zhander, and decorated by the members of APTeam, verified by DoSh7t on 29 November 2021. It is the sequel to Sonic Wave, with design elements of the remake Sonic Wave Infinity. Like its predecessor, Cosmic Cyclone is designed in the style of Nine Circles levels, featuring similar gameplay elements to Sonic Wave, with the addition of extensive 2.1 decoration. The difficulty of Cosmic Cyclone primarily stems from quadruple-speed wave parts with frequent changes in gravity and size, combined with narrow aisles between the blocks.

The level is (according to Riot and his other creators) a sequel to another, no less difficult level of Sonic Wave. Like its predecessor, Cosmic Cyclone was planned to be made in the style of NC-levels, as well as to have similar gameplay features with Sonic Wave, but unlike him it is decorated in newer decorations from version 2.1. The main complexity of Cosmic Cyclone is a wave that travels at quadruple speed (in any other NC-rated levels, the speed is triple) with frequent changes in gravity and character size. All this is combined with narrow aisles between the blocks. In total, the wave gameplay can be compared with other NC-levels The Secret Box and Flat Major.
History
Cosmic Cyclone first appeared in 2017. On 28 November 2017, DollarC released its first stream. Sunix, Riot, and Cyclic are all involved in the gameplay of this level. The person to verify the level was planned to be Combined, and the person who would decorate was unknown. The first level preview was released the same day, showcasing a part of the wave.

In the design of the level is not much stands out, because the objects are not made bright and with a small number of neon highlights. The wave also does not stand out, its design can be compared with the level of Pulsar.
In December 2017, Zhander released his version of the Cosmic Cyclone layout, which later became the official version until APTeam's layout nearly a year later. On 10 January 2018, Combined reached 36-100% on Zhander's layout.
Sunix, Cyclic and Riot took part in building the gameplay of the level, and decorated Zhander objects.
For unknown reasons, the level has not been completed and tested. As a result, it was canceled altogether. However, relatively recently, Zimnior12 with its team of builders APTeam resumed construction level.

Gameplay
However, after that, there was no news about the level for quite some time, and even rumours circulated that it had been cancelled. However, on 20 August 2018, Zimnyte released another redesigned layout. It later turned out that the level had been handed over to APTeam. Brittank88 and Zhander participated in redesigning the level, with sections becoming significantly more complex, and some areas, such as the ship parts, underwent complete changes. In addition, many parts of the level became more chaotic, with Zimnyte saying that this level should become a Top 1 difficulty Demon.

The level starts with a cube segment. Here, as in Sonic Wave, it is necessary to jump on platforms and spheres, while bending around spikes and saws. The only difference is more complicated gameplay. This is followed by the part of the ship, where you need to overcome the saws and pass through narrow cracks. Also at this stage there will be a large number of speed changes. After that, there is a short stage of the cube, where you first need to push off from the yellow sphere, and then jump back from the blue trampolines. Then comes the part of the ball with overcoming difficult timings, saws and spheres. Before the main part of the level, where most of it goes on quadruple speed, the speed slows down, the character becomes a cube, and the player is allowed to “take a break”. The main part of the level begins. In contrast to the Sonic Wave, here the speed is quadruple, not triple. The main difficulty is a large number of narrow aisles, multiple changes in size and speed, as well as a split in one place. This is followed by a segment of the cube, where you need to count the time and jump on the spheres on time. Also, the speed here will slowly increase, because of what you need to more accurately calculate the time for jumping. Then comes part of the hellish wave again with the same difficulties as in the previous stage of the wave: Change of speed, size and gravity, bifurcation, circular saws, spikes and a huge number of narrow spaces. Having overcome this part of the way, the cube stage begins, where it is necessary to jump on the pole. In this case, the path will be branched out and therefore you need to choose this most correct path. The level ends with the last hellish wave with overcoming the same obstacles that are present in the original Sonic Wave.
From that moment on, the APTeam's version of the level was considered official. On 7 February 2019, APTeam released a mega-collaboration. In addition, the ship gameplay had changed dramatically, with the unpleasant parts removed and replaced by cube gameplay, while the cube before drop has been replaced by ball sections.

On 15 April 2019, while the level was in production, OssyTheDragon built and released the unofficial but verified version of Cosmic Cyclone. Meatius Gaming was designated as the verifier of this version, and on 11 June 2019, Meatius achieved 53% on its version.

On 17 August 2019, Meatius achieved 90%. Unfortunately, there would be no further progress for the time being. Later, Wolff was appointed as the verifier, but he made no significant progress.

On 20 August 2019, a video of the verification progress was released, and on 29 February 2020, Zimnyte showed his part in Cosmic Cyclone. However, in the final version of the level, it was replaced with another version, the reason for which is unknown.

The final preview was released on 24 April 2021. It showed significant changes to gameplay and decorations, and the ball section was completely changed, along with gameplay before the ball, which was reverted to the ship. Apart from the ball, almost every part was decorated, with only optimization and bug fixes left to do.

After three years of construction, Cosmic Cyclone was finally released on 24 September 2021. This level was supposed to be verified by Combined; however, he later dropped the level, and DoSh7t became the new verifier. On 29 November 2021, DoSh7t verified the level in 12,000 attempts. In his opinion, this level is harder than Sonic Wave and Bloodlust but easier than kowareta.

On 11 December 2021, the level was rated, and on 4 January 2022, it was placed on the Demonlist.

Description
Cosmic Cyclone's gameplay is similar to its predecessor, Sonic Wave.

Cosmic Cyclone begins with a difficult red orb transition, followed by a green orb. Following that, there are more difficult jumps and transitions. The player then becomes a ship where they must fly through annoyingly tight spaces and diagonal pillars. After bouncing through a series of orbs and pads as a cube, the player becomes a ball, but unlike its predecessor, it runs at normal speed rather than half speed. In this section, the player must hit various orbs later and fit through small gaps between spikes, which is a hard section of the level.

After becoming a mini-dual like Sonic Wave, the player enters the infamous Nine Circles wave. However, unlike most Nine Circles levels, the speed is quadruple, contradicting the classic triple-speed feature. In the wave, the player navigates incredibly tight spaces and manoeuvres through gravity- and size portals at a high rate. Later, the player becomes a cube at double speed, maintaining the level's consistent difficulty with tight transitions off of orbs and incredibly difficult jumps.

The player enters the second wave, this time with various speed changes and more gravity and size portals. This part also requires fast but precise spamming in the dual sections. In the final part, the player reverts to being a cube again. However, the gameplay is overall memory-based, unlike the rest of the level.

After a brief rest, the player enters the final Nine Circles wave, maintaining the same difficulty as the previous two wave sections. The wave ends by spamming above the name 'APTEAM' as the end screen appears. At the end screen, the words 'Cosmic Cyclone' appear, followed by end credits showing the creator names, and finally, a very detailed piece of artwork depicting two planets ends the level.

Cosmic Cyclone is a 2.1 Extreme Demon mega-collaboration level hosted by Zimnyte and Riot, created by Cyclic and Zhander, and decorated by the members of APTeam, verified by DoSh7t on 29 November 2021.[1] It is the sequel to Sonic Wave, with design elements of the remake Sonic Wave Infinity.
