Solar Flare is a 2.1 Extreme Demon collaboration level by Linear and Rynoxious, verified by swiborg on 29 April 2023.[1] It is a super-buffed remake of the 1.9 Medium Demon Nine Circles level Solar Circles.

Solar Flare is themed around stars, in particular the Sun, and features yellow and orange shades, with dark grey predominating in the background and blue for lighting structures and hazards like crystals. Solar Flare has received praise for its gorgeous visuals and unique structuring that makes it stand out amongst other Nine Circles levels.

Description

[edit | edit source]
  • 0-15%: Solar Flare begins as a mini-cube at half speed before being changed into normal speed. The player must navigate tight spaces while dealing with challenging orb timings.
  • 15-27%: Next is a double-speed ship segment with very difficult straight-flying and a two-path at 19-20%, where the player must go down rather than up.
  • 27-35%: Afterwards, the player goes into a ball part at normal speed with numerous difficult timings and a text at 31% saying 'GLHF' at half speed. Later, after the ball comes, an easy cube part at normal speed with just one pink orb input.
  • 35-92%: The drop begins. Like any other challenging Nine Circles level, Solar Flare features very tight wave parts and frequent changes in size and speed. Many structures appear to move and ease in. At 40-41% and 46-47%, there are memory parts in constellation appearances. Texts say 'up next' and '>>>' at 58%, indicating that the player now faces the dual section of the part. At 91-92%, there is a mini-wave spam section of the level, similar to Down Bass; however, Solar Flare has a normal-size portal and an invisible quadruple-speed change in the middle of the spam section before the second mini-size portal and the invisible double-speed change.
  • 92-100%: Lastly, the player enters a short cube part at half speed with tricky timings and an invisible normal-speed change at 95% right before the level ends.
