The Hell World is a 2.0 Extreme Demon mega-collaboration level hosted by Stormfly, verified on 3 January 2017.[1] It is a remake of the 1.4 level of the same name by Sohn0924, and is the second level in Stormfly's Hell Series remakes. Compared to the original level, this one has had a massive overhaul. Its gameplay is mainly based on ball and orb timings. It is also considered to have a very original design despite it being a Hell-themed Demon. The difficulty of this level exceeds that of Bloodbath, which was shown when this level took over the #5 spot on the Demonlist, pushing Bloodbath out of the Top 5.
Description
[edit | edit source]- 0-15% (Zelda): The Hell World begins with a tricky cube section featuring a demonic-looking face in the background. There is a lot of gravity switching and jump timing required here. Afterwards, the player enters a straight line of yellow orbs and a ship sequence with tight spaces.
- 15-26% (1234): Next, the player enters a ship sequence that contains very narrow spaces to fly through, followed by a cube section that features a huge maze of jump orbs and tricky jumps across platforms that appear at the last second.
- 26-33% (Dudex): Then comes even more cube timing as it goes into a corridor with frequent switching between the cube and ball game-modes before the drop kicks in.
- 33-49% (Eternaswip): The drop starts with an extremely tight ball segment and ship sequence, along with a short cube section. It is all decorated in a very dark way, thereby obscuring some of the vision. The second half of the drop features even more game-mode switching and insane timings, with the cube, ball, and ship game-modes played back-to-back. The drop part ends with a straight-fly ship sequence to the next segment.
- 49-61% (Koreaqwer) (?): The next segment features some lava decoration along with many moving objects, which can throw the player off. It is played almost entirely in cube form, but the ball comes in for a few seconds as well. The orb and jump timings here are extremely difficult.
- 61-69% (Tesla) (?): Here, the player must clear some more timing-based jumps, including a jump over a set of small quadruple spikes, as well as a couple of ball transitions. There are some gravity portals and a short ball segment with text reading 'Death', along with a symbol for radioactivity at the end of this part, as the player transitions into a short ship sequence with exceptionally tight spaces and a couple of quick gravity changes at the end.
- 69-98% (Stormfly) (?): It goes into a cube with a bunch of portals along the way. It then becomes another 'corridor' type of gameplay, with a mini-ball segment featuring difficult timings and a narrow straight-fly sequence. Afterwards, the player enters a cube section that features another line of yellow orbs, followed by a mirror portal into the final part of the level, which is played entirely as a cube aside from the very end. Here, the player must do even more timing with orbs. The background features streams of lava falling from the sky, and many spikes move up and down. At the very end, the player enters a ball segment and must do three more timing-based gravity switches.
- 98-100% (Zhander): Then, the level ends, showing its name and all the creators.
Gameplay
[edit | edit source]Trivia
[edit | edit source]- The Hell World was placed at #5 on the Demonlist on 14 January 2017, above Bloodbath and below Sakupen Hell.
- This addition pushed Bloodbath out of the Top 5, Cataclysm out of the Top 25, and Light Years into the Legacy List.
- The original version of The Hell World is regarded as the ninth instance of the hardest rated level in the game's history.
- However, worth mentioning is that the original Demonlist was started in 2015 by the player loogiah,[2] meaning all levels created before 2015 were not Top 1 for the simple reason of the list determining the hardest levels in the game not existing at the time.
- Stormfly could not decide whether The Hell World was harder or easier than Bloodbath, so he let the community decide. Nowadays, it is generally agreed to be fairly harder than Bloodbath.
- Even though The Hell World is considered harder than Bloodbath by most people, Stormfly only took 10,394 attempts to verify it, a low amount compared to other verifications of Extreme Demons.
- The Hell World was rated on the same day as The Hell Zone, when RobTop entered KrmaL's stream and KrmaL suggested some Demons that deserved a rating. The Hell Zone and The Hell World were two of them, and they both finally got rated.
- Stormfly legitimately verified the original version by Sohn0924 on 25 September 2020.[3]
- Technical once considered The Hell World as his least favourite level in the game, giving it a 1/100. He hates the level so much that he said that if he explained every problem this level had, he would break the character limit of YouTube descriptions.
- The placement of ErebuS on 8 October 2021 pushed The Hell World into the Legacy List of the Demonlist.
