Aquatic Auroras is a 2.1 Extreme Demon collaboration level by EndLevel, Lime, and El3cTr0, verified by Aeden on 7 April 2020.[1] It is a difficult remake of Nine Circles. It is the sequel to Azure Flare and the second instalment in the Weather Trilogy, succeeding Arctic Lights and preceding Aerial Gleam.

Description

[edit | edit source]

Aquatic Auroras begins with the pre-drop of the song, and the gameplay consists of a cube section that features precise timings. After a bit, the game-mode switches to a ball while still maintaining the required precise timings. Next is a ship sequence requiring precise straight-flying and orb timings. Then a short cube section appears, requiring brief timings as the music builds.

After this, the music beat drops, and the player enters the Nine Circles-styled wave section. It starts with a triple-speed segment, then transitions to a quadruple-speed auto segment, which quickly turns into two difficult clicks. After this, a dual-wave appears at 28%. It is very short, with only three timings. Next, the player must alternate between many size and speed portals.

Afterwards, at 40%, the player enters a short triple-speed auto cube section, followed by a second wave segment. Here, the player must contend with narrower spaces, more speed changes, and a brief, difficult triple-speed dual-wave segment at ~57%. Shortly afterwards, at 61%, the player enters another auto-cube section before transitioning into the third wave segment of the level. This segment consists of frequent gravity changes, slightly broader spaces, a few speed changes, and only one mini portal. After this section (~82%), the player goes through one final auto-cube section.

Later, the player enters a normal-speed cube section with a small handful of tricky timings, a ship sequence with tight spaces, and several orb-based timings. Afterwards, there is a final mini-cube section with a few timings and disorienting effects playing in the background. Finally, the player transitions into the last ship. It has four large sawblades to avoid and four spikes attached to two decorations that resemble the letter 'G', forming 'GG'. If the player clears this section, the level ends.
